Behavior Cat issues
Hello, I have a cat who is about 4 years and a half old. He used go be very cuddly before moving to europe, and he was for a while, but after 6 months, he seems to be having behavioural issues. Usually, he goes to eat random pieces of dust or dry pieces he sees on the stove. Daily, he seems to drink out of the sink, and messes with the dishes. He seems to hiss and get angry when playing with his toys now, and he bites down pretty hard, not letting go of them, hissing when anyone gets near. I am worried about him a lot. I couldn't find any solutions online, so I wish to ask here.
I took him outside recently to see about giving him some mental stimulation, and it works, but he goes back to the same behaviours after 1 hour, or 30 minutes. I love my baby kitty, as he was a very good partner with his brother during hard times, but he is causing a lot of stress for me.
His diet is urinary tract food, mixed with wet food to help his urination, and he also is on teeth brushing medications.
I really would like some advice. I want to work through it with my little guy.

General Newly adopted cat, no idea what I'm doing
Hi everyone,
I've always been a dog person, never really had a cat, so I'm essentially a cat illiterate. My girlfriend moved in with me and she never had cats either (she's been in more contact with them).
Couple of weeks ago, an adult female cat came into our backyard, then left. Then came back, and left at night, then started staying through the night. We read that when they do not go back at night is because they don't have anywhere to go. So we said, lets just adopt her (rather she adopted us).
The issue though, we know virtually nothing about cats. We fed her, we noticed that she meows when hungry, when is thirsty (won't drink from tray, almost exclusively from running tap water), or when she wants cuddles, I bought her some toys, but touches them very rarely (a mouse made of yarn and a catnip ball, something like that).
The main issue we are having is that she keeps wanting to stay in our bed when we go to sleep, and stays mostly up during the night, sleep through the day, and wake us up meowing at 5 am.
Any advice??
Edit: Some additional details, the cat appears to have had an owner. She was well fed, and had a collar, but no tag. We asked around and no one claimed her really. Where we live we don't really have tags, or ways to know a cat already had a home, other than a tag. Furthermore, my GF tells me she has 'spayed cat behaviour', as in, she is not really super active (doesn't really play all that much) and has some trouble jumping onto higher surfaces (like a counter top). I will take her to a vet as soon as I can to confirm.

Behavior Cat pooping in carrier
I took my cat to the vet today for her second round of shots. She had a bad poop in the carrier on the way home. I’m worried when we fly cross-country (we’re moving). She’s gonna be extremely scared and do the same thing she did today. I can’t handle that and a toddler alone. How do I fix this? What can I do? I’m extremely stressed out. To the point where I’m in tears. Why does she do this in the carrier? She also did it when I brought her home for the first time. I love my baby and I don’t want her to be scared where she has to resort to pooping in her carrier. Any advice would be fantastic!

General How to take cat to vet without making it as traumatizing as possible?☹️
I have a cat that I’ve had for almost a year. He needs to go the vet to get neutered, chipped, nails clipped and shot. I want him to not be traumatized. Any suggestions?

General How to keep cat occupied when I have “special company” over in a studio apartment?
I have an 8 year old tortie cat that I adore and she and I live in a small studio apartment. I have a bathroom and a closet, these are the only two areas that have any type of separation. My little girl is very affectionate and loves to get attention from visitors. Doesn’t matter who it is, she will go up to them after 1 minute of them being in my house and she’ll demand attention. She will stay on their lap and even when they try to get up, she’ll run right back.
This is very cute and I’ve always been happy that she’s a social cat, however as a single person with needs, this is the most challenging obstacle of getting those needs met. Whenever I have company over, she is just right there and I don’t like that. It completely ruins the mood. I’ve tried putting her in the bathroom with her favorite toys and food and she hates being in there. She absolutely LOVES to be in my closet and I’ll let her freely walk in there before I have company, but the minute she hears someone’s voice in here she starts meowing so loudly until she is let out. Since those are my only two options, I haven’t tried anything else.
My question is, how do I get a cat like her (social, always wants to be around people) to be cool, calm and quiet( which she is all day long) when I have company over for about an hour? Going to other people’s places is not usually an option, where I live it’s very rare for someone to have their own place.

Nutrition/Water Any recommendations regarding cat fountains?
Hello! Anybody could give me some advice regarding the cat fountains? Especially I don't want to do scrubbings a lot.... It's better that the device doesn't need a lot of cleaning or is extreme easy to clean...

General adoption application advice
I’m looking to adopt a cat because I’ve always wanted a pet and I’m now financially able to support one on my own. I’m wondering how strict adoption centers are with their applications and how thoroughly they verify the information.
I still live at home with my dad, who hasn’t explicitly said he’s against getting a pet, but we haven’t actually discussed it in depth. I think he’d enjoy having a cat around since he always loves playing with animals when we visit people with pets. We also lost my mom this year and I think a pet would be a good addition to our home and family.
The applications I’ve seen ask if you own your home and whether everyone in the household has agreed to the adoption. I don’t own or rent, and the answer to the second question is kind of up in the air. I understand why they ask these things, but would it be a bad idea to bend the truth on the application to make the process easier? Or are walk-in adoptions generally less strict?
I’d appreciate any advice from people who’ve been through the process

Behavior Should I be worried my cat has watery eyes whenever there's milk nearby?
My cat really loves milk and will try to lick it up from anywhere she can but I've started to noticed that whenever I refuse to give her milk, she starts slow blinking and her eyes get watery and she just looks so fucking sad for some reason?? I'm not too sure if this is something of concern or not since searching it up on Google only gives me vocalized cries. 😟 (I'm also pretty sure that's it only with me and not with my other family members?)

General My indoor only cat escaped, and hasn't been seen since.
Please, give me some tips and state of mind on what to do here. My s/o and I ate some dinner, and after I ended up falling asleep on the couch. I woke up about 4 hours later to move to the bedroom, and realized the back patio door was wide open, and the screen was slid just enough for my cat to slide through it and get outside.
Her name is Lilly, she's 7 years old, and the most friendliest spoiled cat you've ever seen. She has a littermate at home as well, and I'm sure she's just as frightened. She's just sitting in the kitchen, glancing out the back patio glass.
My question, or concern is. Will she come back? How soon? It's so cold and rainy out right now, and overnight temps are even colder. (Located in Minnesota)
She's never been outside, and I'm just worried she won't come back. Any advice on what to do to lure her back in? I left some food on the porch near where she got out. And I left my garage door cracked open with the heat on so she at least has somewhere to go if shes nearby and cold.

Behavior What do I do with this mean lil kitten?
I have got an adorable 6 month old ragdoll boy kitten and a 8 year old tabby cat. I have had the kitten for about two months now and did introduce them very slowly.
My tabby is very sweet and misses her old companion. I was hoping the ragdoll kitten would be sweet and cuddly for her, but it is very often that he is ambushing her. Or even earlier tonight, she was laying down asleep and he walked up and bit her face for no reason!
I dont know how to get him to stop thos behavior. He is undeterred by her hissing and batting.
Will this maybe just go away with age?

Adoption Regret Overwhelmed with young cat and need advice
Hi. I adopted a 1 year old cat around 1.5 months ago, and I am not sure what to do.
For context I am a graduate student and I live alone in an apartment. I am not home a lot during the week because I am at school/studying so he is home a lot of the day alone.
When I get home, I usually have more studying to do and he gets super amped up and just zooms around and does parkour everywhere. He is super prey driven and bites me anytime I try to pet him. Usually it seems affectionate as he will lick me before or after but it still hurts and I have had no success getting him to stop biting me.
I play with him with a wand toy and have lots of enrichment out (toys, balls, tunnel, etc) but he still gets into everything; recently he has been opening the cabinets and found his treats, and he also ripped up all of the toilet paper in the bathroom.
I feel like I don’t have time or energy to meet his high energy needs but I would feel so horrible returning him. The place I got him from requires that I give him back to them if I ever were to rehome him and it is a nice rescue where most cats are placed into foster homes or have private rooms at the facility. I just am at a loss because I don’t want to keep him longer if he could potentially find a new home that can care for him better than me, but I also don’t want to give up on him.
Any suggestions on helping to correct some of his behavioral problems? Or does this seem like a circumstance where the best option is to rehome him?

Nutrition/Water Bowl or Fountain w/o filter?
I stupidly broke my cats fountain on the compartment where you put the filter in and now it won't snap to the lid. I get paid on the first of the month, right now he has a bowl but he's very picky and hasn't drank from the bowl yet so I'm wondering if it would be OK to set the fountain back up just without the filter? Or would it be too much of a risk? What do yall think?

Litterbox Cat finding it hard to cover up in tofu litter
I was having issues with smells and tracking with the previous clay litter (plus the concern of clay dust being bad for cats?) so I decided to try out tofu litter after much research. Currently, I am using the pidan tofu blend litter and running into some issues that I was hoping to get some advice on. I have seen many people praising pidan but I did not come across any discussions related to the issues I am facing so I am curious if others have experienced similar things as me.
First of all, I lovee the low tracking as a result of using tofu litter and I do think it suppresses smells a lot better than clay litter. However, in terms of its actual function, its not doing so well.
First of all, I have to be very careful when scooping to prevent any clumps from breaking. I think the clumping is not bad but since the pellets are larger, they don’t sift through as easily as clay dust which makes it a bit harder to scoop. Secondly, its great for pee since the liquid forms clumps. However, the poop just sits there and my cats are also finding it hard to cover them. One of my cat is bad at covering up her poop in general but the other one is really particular and likes to cover it all up. Like she will come out and go back in if she feels she didn’t cover properly. However, she has also been struggling with covering using tofu litter. I believe this litter is not scented so its not the scent potentially messing with her. I think it might be the pellets being larger compared to clay dust thats wat lighter and easy to cover up with. Honestly, even with the poop sitting there, I don’t really feel any bad smells and that might be the tofu litter doing its job but I just worry that not being able to cover up might stress my cats out. I do often hear them digging and scratching through the litter in attempts to cover up for a long time so I am worried that this litter may be stressing them out.
I am planning to try tuft & paw next but I imagine it would have similar issues. I really love the low tracking and smell since starting on tofu litter so I would like to continue to use it if I can find some solutions to these issues.

Behavior 9 week old kitten constantly meowing for wet food
he does this so much and its specifically for his wet food. especially in the afternoon. i give him his sheba wet kitten food at 8am and 8pm and i have a automatic feeder that goes off throughout the day. he will scream at me for his wet food when he has kibble in his bowl. he will eat his kibble. theres times where he goes straight to his feeder once it dispenses. and i cant just feed him only wet food especially with how pricey it can get. but for some reason he will sit or lay on top of me while im laying down and will scream directly at my face and paw at my face and even lay in my face for a good 30 minutes to an hour for his wet food. or i believe his wet food because i when i get up to follow him he goes straight to his bowl (that usually has his kibble in it that he eats). idk if hes exactly meowing for the wet food or if its something else. i don't give in to his screaming and dont give him extra wet food portions. i play with him and he has a bunch of toys that he plays with by himself. i give him so much attention when im home. any advice is appreciated. this can be really annoying especially when im taking afternoon naps.

Nutrition/Water Can I use a wet food autofeeder if I make soup
My cat only drinks water when it’s in his wet food so we always make it into soup for him.
He has been driving us crazy in the morning waking us up, and we want to use a timed autofeeder that has ice packs built in.
If I make it into soup, will he still eat it if it’s prepared 12 hours before?
Any reccs on feeders?

Behavior My cat became aggressive
I adopted a cat (a 3-month-old female) last July, she is 1 year and 8 months. When I first brought her home, she scratched the curtains, caused damage around the house, and so on. After a while, she settled in and stopped doing those things—she would just have occasional bursts of playfulness. Well, four months ago, some younger cousins (aged 16 and 17) came to visit, and ever since then, my cat has been growling, biting, and scratching out of the blue. I have no idea what they might have done to her. I’ve also noticed that she gets terrified and runs away whenever I pick up a slipper—even though I have never hit her. She has become very aggressive and has remained that way ever since; she’ll suddenly attack me and growl while I’m just sitting quietly at my computer. Often, when I try to approach her, she runs off. If she stays put and I try to pet her, she might let me for a moment before biting or scratching me and running away—or she might attack me before I can even touch her. My father wants me to put her up for adoption, but she’s my only cat and I’ve become very attached to her and I love her dearly. If anyone has experienced something like this with their own cat, or if you can offer any help, please—I’m begging you.
