MCU Bucky supporting Steve back in the day
Does anybody else think about how MCU Bucky was probably financially supporting Steve basically from the time Mrs. Rogers died until Steve got into the SSR? Even though Bucky himself must have been orphaned at some point, considering his next of kin was his sister who lived in Indiana?
Wish we had more MCU lore about those years, but from what I can scrounge it seems like that was the most likely scenario.

Recast and reintroduce Steve Rogers and Sams back to the mantle of Falcon, Sams own legacy away from his captain america
Recasting an actor as iconic as Chris Evans is an absolute gamble, always is, but keeping Steve Rogers on active duty as Captain America honors his core identity far better than forcing him into an early retirement, for Steve, "fighting the good fight" isn't a job he clocks out of; it is fundamentally who he is. Marvel Studios ultimately chose to pass the mantle to Sam Wilson to accommodate Evans' departure without breaking continuity, but the comic books prove that the title of Captain America doesn't always have to shift to a new character when an era changes. recasting a legendary role to keep the definitive hero on the frontline is a time-tested tradition in cinema and comics alike.
The Case for Recasting Over Retiring
• The James Bond/Batman Model: Legendary cinematic icons like James Bond, Batman, and Superman are constantly recast. Audiences accept new actors because the symbol and the character's values transcend the person playing them. Recasting Steve Rogers would treat him as a modern myth who belongs to the universe, not just one actor's contract.
• The Ultimate Survivor: Steve Rogers is a man out of time who survived the ice, the Chitauri, and Thanos. Having him survive the Infinity War only to immediately exit the board feels like a narrative cheat. Keeping him alive and active honors his resilience.
• The Multiverse Solution: With the MCU fully embracing the Multiverse saga, Marvel has the perfect narrative excuse to introduce a recast Steve Rogers from a parallel timeline—one who never went back to the past—allowing the character to return to active status without muddying the events of Avengers: Endgame. That is a phenomenal way to introduce a recast Steve Rogers, and it hits on the absolute best aspect of his character: Steve Rogers isn’t a hero because of a serum; he is a hero because of his mind, grit, and unbreakable will.
This might be a phenomenal way to introduce a recast Steve Rogers, and it might be the best and absolute of the idea that Steve Rogers isn’t a hero because of a serum; he is a hero because of his mind, grit, and unbreakable will. Stripping the power away to show that he can still outsmart and outfight enhanced muscle using decades of combat intelligence—from WWII trenches to cosmic battlefields—instantly commands respect and proves to the audience that this is the definitive Steve Rogers, no matter who is playing him.
Breaking Down the Introduction Issue
• The Ultimate Trial: Facing two serum-enhanced enforcers as a baseline, "puny" human is the ultimate test of strategic mastery. He isn't overpowering them; he is using their own momentum, the environment, and flawless tactical positioning against them.
• The Narrative Reset: Reclaiming the serum on the very same night keeps the momentum fast-paced. It serves as a high-stakes prologue that establishes his active status immediately, rather than dragging out a powerless arc.
• Restoring the Legacy: Having him target the people actively sullying Abraham Erskine's work gives him a deeply personal, foundational mission to launch this new era.
Re-establishing the Dynamic Duo
This setup smoothly untangles the mantle confusion and returns the trio to their most iconic, universally recognized roles:
Character, New Permanent Status and Role in the Dynamic:
A) Steve Rogers: Captain America The permanent, active frontline leader of the Avengers.
B) Sam Wilson :The Falcon Concedes the shield with total respect, returning permanently to his definitive high-flying role.
C) Bucky Barnes: Winter Soldier Operates in the shadows on his own solo adventures while maintaining his fierce brotherhood with Steve and Sam.
By having Sam willingly hand back the shield after seeing Steve's unmatched capability, you eliminate any artificial friction and let the franchise move forward with the true Captain America leading the charge.
2010 Steve Rogers: Super-Soldier miniseries by Ed Brubaker.
The scientist ally who helps Steve when he is stripped of his powers is Anita Erskine, who is the granddaughter of Dr. Abraham Erskine. As for the threat, you were right on the money with it being connected to a rogue faction, but it wasn't Hydra this time. The villain pull is a fantastic, deep-lore classic:
The Rogue Elements
• The Mastermind: The primary villain behind the plot is Machinesmith (Sam Saxon), a classic Marvel robotics genius. He uses a front company called Nextin Pharmaceuticals to mass-produce a corrupted, unstable version of the Super-Soldier Serum.
• The Twist: Machinesmith plays a brutal psychological game on Steve. He actually creates advanced android duplicates of Erskine's family—including an android version of Anita Erskine—to manipulate Steve and trap him in Madripoor.
• The Recovery: When Machinesmith drains the serum out of Steve and locks him up, it is the real Anita Erskine who steps in as his scientist ally. She helps a weakened, "puny" Steve break out of confinement, navigate the lab, and access a Vita-Ray projector to reactivate the serum in his blood and restore his power. Using this exact framework for a recast introduction honors Marvel comics history perfectly, while providing a high-stakes thriller that proves Steve's worth before he even gets his powers back.
This might be a good way to introduce a recast Steve Rogers, and it hits on the absolute best aspect of his character: Steve Rogers isn’t a hero because of a serum; he is a hero because of his mind, grit, and unbreakable will. Stripping the power away to show that he can still outsmart and outfight enhanced muscle using decades of combat intelligence—from WWII trenches to cosmic battlefields—instantly commands respect and proves to the audience that this is the definitive Steve Rogers, no matter who is playing him.

It’s kinda crazy cause I never thought these two would get a chance to interact, but it’s actually happening in Doomsday

Iron Steve
What are the chances Steve Rogers finally dons an Iron Man suit, specifically the Iron Patriot suit, in Doomsday? I've been waiting for that payoff for about 16 years, now, and I think it would be an appropriate homage both to Tony's death and to the Time Runs Out source material. Any chance we see it?

Ant Mans joke
I feel like everyone is attacking ant man and the writers for making the cap slip up. But honestly I think it’s a really well written line. Obviously the world isn’t going to just adapt and accept Sam as captain America, I mean let’s be real he’s a black man he’s obviously going to face a world of push back and racism. I think it’s important to keep that part of his character you know, the fact that he’s actively combatting and trying to prove himself for a country that isn’t accepting him. I think Scott’s line was a really well put neutral line highlighting the difficulties Sam faces with his new role and it highlights Steve’s maturity and resignation of the title. A huge part of Sam’s character is that he is THE captain America while being a black man in a country that doesn’t exist to benefit him. Scott’s comment wasn’t racist, just simply a slip up, but it makes the audience reflect and realize the underlying issues in the marvel world. Don’t get me wrong I am saying this in a hundred percent loyalty to Sam, he is my captain America more so then Steve has ever been. I think he is a truly phenomenal character and I think it is so moving and important to show his navigation of this new title as a black man.
LMAO I am so sorry I didn’t realize no one knew what I was referencing😭😭😭🫡
I’m referencing one of the doomsday teasers in which ant man accidentally refers to Steve rogers as “cap” while Sam Wilson is in the room literally wearing the suit😭🫰 sorry guys
Another update…the joke was funny, I’m like a huge fan of Sam Wilson and especially him as captain America. I’m saying the writers put that joke in to highlight the complexities of his character…
