While this may sound silly to some people I think it is extremely hypocritical for a professor teaching students about environmental sciences to be forcing students to use ai at some point in most of their assignments.

This far I have refused which I’m sure will cause me to lose some points whenever she decides to actually grade our work, I couldn’t really tell you since she hasn’t graded anything or really responded to anyone since the first week.

For our final we are being asked to use AI to program an app and it’s worth a solid 20% of our grade.

I feel like this is ridiculous!! Working in the real world you will get reprimanded for AI usage on your reports, in most other classes on campus you can get dropped or even have actual action taken against you for using ai to create an assignment! I’m not paying 4K a semester to have a robot do my work and learn for me and I don’t want to aid in fabricating something to replace real people and their very real jobs. I’m here to gain new knowledge and skillsets- none of which occur while using ai to do everything for you!!

I’m frankly infuriated that it is required of me for a class to not do my own work and have no idea who I would even go to about this. Any ideas?

Idk what y'all think, but I keep hearing sm hate towards scooters and bike people since they tend to not respect pedestrians. I personally do ride an electric scooter myself but tend to go at a slow speed when there are people around or if there are too many I'll get off and walk, I just thought everyone had that etiquette. But I just got into an accident because of someone speeding while I was going slow(also cuz my scooter is 5 years old so it's a genuine turtle compared to other scooters), no hate to that person, but we did argue because I didn't look both ways but that person was also speeding on a sidewalk. I just think there should be more of an etiquette for people riding these, especially cuz there are pedestrians walking around. Any opinions?

Why do people decide to go on the 4th floor just to be on a loud phone call for over an hour? This constantly happens.

Last semester, I wrote about how happy I was with my decision to pursue my Master’s in Computer Engineering at CSUN, and I’m still glad I made that decision.

Over the summer, I landed a software engineering internship at an aerospace company through one of SHPE’s club meetings. Fast forward to this semester, I was fortunate enough to land a full-time position at Raytheon as an Embedded Software Engineer through networking at another campus event.

I also want to thank Professor Aaron Nanas. The projects in ECE 425, ECE 520, and ECE 528 helped me get experience and a better understanding of embedded systems. The projects from those courses helped me learn the material and were huge talking points in my interviews.

Unfortunately, I won’t be able to finish my master’s right now, but I hope to return in a few years after gaining more industry experience. I’m really grateful for my time at CSUN and the opportunities it has given me.
This is emotional for me because I feel like my hard work is finally paying off. I grew up in Pacoima, and my parents didn’t have much money and only spoke Spanish. I remember spending my weekends helping them sell food at the San Fernando Swap Meet. Looking back at where I started and where I am today makes me really proud. I never imagined I would be in this position.

Sorry for the long message but these past few days I have been lost in my thoughts and just excited for this new chapter in my life. Thank you CSUN🤝❤️

My professor made it so that our assignment due dates are due Mondays right before class.
On October 13th (Tues), I started on the assignment and ended up finishing it. I waited to see until the due date before class (Oct19) to see if they’ll even mention it, but they didn’t and I had to submit it an hour before the class even started.
I’m genuinely so sick of group work. I asked the professor if I can work alone, but it’s not helping 🫠
