JRF and Lectureship Is there any benefit to pursuing a PhD with a JRF at a university rather than at an affiliated college?

I have recently qualified for JRF, and I am thinking of joining a university. However, the university interview dates are scheduled for the end of November, and I am worried about failing the interview. What if, by then, all the vacant seats in affiliated colleges have been filled
