Anyone at CPCC doing anything for Halloween?

Hey everyone!! I’m 20F and currently a student at CPCC. I was wondering if anyone is planning on doing anything for Halloween this year, like going to parties, haunted houses, or just hanging out?
Honestly, I’ve been having a hard time making friends, especially since community college can make it difficult to meet people and socialize. I feel like I’ve been missing out on a lot of experiences people my age are having, and I really want to change that.

I don’t really have a friend group to go out with, and I don’t want to spend another Halloween sitting at home doing nothing 😭

I’d love to meet new people around my age and hopefully make some genuine friendships! So if anyone knows about Halloween events or is looking for people to hang out with, let me know!!

Best resources for help with learning in history

What are some tips /resources you have that helped you with history classes ? I’m in world civilizations 2. I might be getting a little ahead of myself but It’s my second week in classes and although I’ve been doing pretty good with my work I’m worried I’m not doing well enough retaining the information and it’ll bite me later on in final exams.
I love history but I’m just struggling to make connections with all the information being thrown at me.
I usually dedicate 2 days of studying/doing my homework and assignments for each of my classes during the week (one and half for Friday and Saturday morning depending on due date) but is that not enough? Maybe I’m just worrying too soon but I like to feel more confident in what I’m studying. Thanks !

Does anyone know what the Lab fee is for when taking online courses?

I have a lab fee for my online science courses that is $100-$200 every semester, as I am pursuing an associates of science. I have tried reaching out to the school for explanation as to why I'm paying this fee when I still have to buy a more than $100 lab kit for almost every science course I have, but I haven't gotten any response from the places I reached out to.

MAT171 registration

I want to register for a different section and drop the one I'm currently in but it says I don't meet the prerequisites, even though they're the exact same as for the one I'm currently taking. I don't get this error with literally any other classes I'm taking. Anybody know what's up?

Looking for a graphic designer

Not entirely sure if this is allowed here but I am looking for a current student to assist with refining my logo for my bakery, helpful advice with creative direction, and a good font. Currently my logo is from AI and my website is awful lol. I would love help putting my new small business in the right direction.

If interested in working with me, send me a DM and I will provide business details and we can discuss compensation.

Thank you!

SPRING LPN PROGRAM

Has anyone applied to CPCC’s LPN program for Spring 2027? I went to the information session back in September and they mentioned accepting 32 students. I’ve been seeing some posts about the previous cohort getting pushed back to spring, so I’m curious if those students are included in the 32 seats or if those spots are for new applicants.

I already submitted my application, but I’m a little nervous lol. I made a 78 overall on my TEAS with an 86 in science, and I have mostly A’s in my prerequisites, including both anatomy classes.

Just wondering if anyone has gotten accepted with similar scores or knows anything about the spring cohort!

ADN program

I applied for the spring 2027 ADN program and I know the deadline was a few days ago so we should be hearing back results within the next 8 weeks but I was wondering if anyone else had already received their results?

I have a 4.0GPA and scored a 92% on my TEAS, I’m desperately hoping I’ll get in 😩

Free Bio 112 lab kit

Hey y’all!

If anyone needs a free BIO 112 lab kit, call or stop by the CPCC Central Campus Bookstore to see if they still have it!

I recently dropped BIO 112 after getting accepted into an ADN program, so I tried returning my lab kit. Unfortunately, I was told that because I opened the box, it was nonreturnable.

I never used the access code, removed anything, or used any of the materials. Everything is still inside, including the preserved rat, starfish, clam, and whatever else comes with the kit.

Rather than letting it go to waste, I told the bookstore employee to give it to a student in need.

So, if you need a lab kit, please call or stop by the Central Campus Bookstore and ask if it’s still available.

My name is Abraham, so feel free to mention my name when you call or stop by. That way, the employee will know which lab kit you’re asking about!
Hope this helps someone out! 😊

BEWARE ANT-221

Just wanted to give a heads up for anyone taking comparative cultures ( ANT-221) to avoid Roger stroope. The worst professor I’ve ever had when it comes to grading and responding. I sent 4 emails throughout the semester and did not get one email back. Multiple students have had the same problem as I’ve reached out to them thinking it was only me. Second his grading schedule is horrendous. To put it in perspective I took the 8 week short term session and he only graded up to week 4 before it ended. I normally don’t post stuff like this because I know professors get busy but 4 no response to emails and the horrible grading schedule and multiple students having the same issue I just want to warn anyone. Also I know it’s a online class but he had literally no helpful lectures or videos just read book then do work so take that as you will but anyway thanks for listening to my rant

Room for rent in University City

Hey girls!

I’m looking to relet my current room in a 4-bedroom townhouse at Aspen Heights University City. Move in would be around late November/Early December depending on how our schedules would work out. I currently live with 3 girls who are all students at UNCC and they are seniors. You would have your own room with a private bathroom. The lease goes until July of 2027 but there is an opportunity to renew. The room is room A in the Vail A layout of their floor plans. This room is located on the first floor in the back of the house. This particular house comes with a fenced-in backyard, so if you have a pet, it works out great! My base rent is $940. The utilities are split among the roommates which is about $45-50 depending on the time of year which includes electric and valet trash. Water, internet, and all other utilities are included in the base rent. Parking is free and the drive to campus is about 5 minutes. There is a shuttle that runs to and from campus for residents if you do not want to park on campus.

Some of the amenities include:
- clubhouse with study rooms
- resort style swimming pool
- fitness center
- sand volleyball court
- fire pits and grill areas
- accommodating staff
- gated community
- free parking
- campus shuttle
- in-unit washer/dryer
- 24/7 security and maintenance
- comes furnished (bed frame, mattress, desk, nightstand, dresser drawers) living room has (couch, coffee table, side table, bar stools, entertainment center and tv)
- many local grocery stores nearby including Lidl, Walmart, Target, and Trader Joe’s

I look forward to hearing from you and potentially letting you tour our home and community!!

TEAS

Has anyone applied to Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) nursing program and know if they accept preliminary ATI TEAS scores?

I’m scheduled to retake my TEAS on October 13, but the application deadline is October 15. I know Gaston College accepts preliminary scores, so I’m wondering if CPCC does the same.

I already have a TEAS score, but I’m retaking it to hopefully score higher for the RN program. I’ve reached out to the school, but I wanted to see if anyone has had experience with this.
