Considering Accounting/CPA want the perspective of Boots on the Ground.
Hi all!
As the title says, I'm considering doing and Going into Accounting, but I don't really know any accountants, and while jobs and skills says there is a shortage, often such shortages can be because companies are making job postings and then just not hiring people.
Currently enrolled in a graduate diploma of accounting (I'm an Australian citizen) but might exit with grad cert once I have the units to bypass foundational exams.
Two things I want to know:
What certifications are a necessary and sufficient condition to land an accounting role that will either satisfy the work experience conditions for the CPA or is an entry level role which will shortly lead to said condition satisfying role? (e.g., associate membership via foundational exams? Grad cert? PHD by research?)
Of the Accounting roles in the job market (or at your workplace, whatever pertains to your experience) is the supply of roles that would satisfy the work experience conditions abundant, middling or scarce?
Cheers!
