general gameplay No one talks about this issue with SBMM

I suck at COD. I have played yearly from AW to BO4 and slowly saw myself improving, but my top average KD couldntve been higher than 1.5, if that.

My brother is incredibly good at COD. He started playing way earlier and he used to be absolutely addicted as an early teen. In the CODs that I played, he averaged a 4 KD maybe, could be a bit higher or lower, I'm not sure.

And we loved to play together back then. Just chatting in a voice call and playing casually. We didn't work together at all, and our performances did not affect each other really.

Now MW4 is my first COD since BO4. We still enjoy playing together, but it's an absolute PITA for me. Even though I'm at the lowest side SBMM, I'm thrown in lobbies based on my brother's skill level. I'm getting absolutely destroyed every single game.

When I play alone, everything is fine. I get easier games and I can actually get some killstreaks. But it doesn't feel real at all. COD is just deciding exactly how well I will play before the match even starts. SBMM removes all sense of improvement this way.

And I still wanna play with my brother, playing different games while chatting isn't the same at all. Does COD think no one ever plays together? Or that people who play together are always at the same level? It makes absolutely no sense to me. What if we want to play with some friends who also suck? Will we be thrown into an impossible lobby, just because 1 player is good enough for that lobby?

Having natural lobbies, with maybe a SLIGHT form of SBMM, is just so much better for everyone in my opinion.

general gameplay MEDAL OF HONOR

This is technically COD related considering COD wouldn’t have been born if it wasn’t for Medal of Honor.

Anyway, I’m just curious if anyone would be interested in seeing a new grounded Medal of Honor game back to WW2. Unfortunately EA has the rights to the game but if they ever pulled their heads out of each others asses or gave the rights to another studio a new Medal of Honor game set it WW2 would absolutely do numbers or even a remake of the older games, just no insane micro transactions with goofy skins unrelated to the games identity. I like to imagine a MOH game with today’s technology would be freaking awesome, like a mix of battlefield’s gameplay and then mechanics and huge maps like Hell Let Loose. Something like that. It’s been long enough, I need it 😂.

general gameplay MW4 Is Another Reason Why Treyarch Is Miles Better Than Infinity Ward

I’ll say it plainly: Modern Warfare 4 has done nothing to change my opinion that Treyarch understands Call of Duty multiplayer far better than Infinity Ward.

If anything, this game has made me even less confident that Infinity Ward knows how to create a multiplayer experience that is actually enjoyable over the long term.
I’ve been playing Call of Duty since the original Black Ops, so I’ve had plenty of time to figure out what I want from these games. I’ve always leaned toward Treyarch because Black Ops usually feels faster, more arcade-focused, and more willing to reward players who want to move around and take fights.
Modern Warfare 4 has reminded me exactly why that matters to me.

The gunfights are the first major problem.

There are too many moments where I start shooting first, clearly connect several shots, and still lose the engagement almost instantly. Then I’ll have another fight with the same weapon that feels completely different.
That kind of inconsistency makes it difficult to trust the game.
I’m playing on PS5 with crossplay limited to consoles, so I’m not going to blame every strange death on my internet or my setup. Sometimes the gunfights simply feel unreliable.
Losing because another player aimed better is fine. Losing because the engagement feels delayed, inconsistent, or impossible to understand is not.

A multiplayer shooter needs to make its combat feel predictable enough that players can learn from their mistakes. Modern Warfare 4 too often leaves me wondering what the hell just happened.

Then there’s the matchmaking.

I finished Black Ops 6 with a 2.07 KD and had roughly a 1.89 KD in Black Ops 7. I’m not claiming to be some elite esports player, but I’m obviously not someone who needs beginner protection in every lobby.
Despite that, Modern Warfare 4 makes normal multiplayer feel like a nonstop competitive event.
I’m not launching Call of Duty because I need to drop 50 kills every game. I’m not expecting to destroy every lobby. I simply want to play after work, relax for a while, and maybe have a strong match without being punished by the system immediately afterward.
That is the part that makes the current SBMM system so frustrating.
You can have one good game, and suddenly the next few matches feel like a completely different game. Everyone is moving perfectly, every gunfight is stressful, and every mistake gets punished instantly.
If playing well only guarantees that the next several matches will be miserable, what exactly is the incentive to improve?
Public matches should have some variety. They should not feel like ranked matches with hidden consequences after every decent performance.
And I honestly don’t understand how people can defend this version of SBMM while claiming to appreciate classic Call of Duty.

The old games were fun partly because every lobby felt different. You could have a dominant game, get destroyed the next match, or end up in a close lobby where everyone was roughly equal. That unpredictability created memorable moments.
I’m not saying matchmaking should be completely random. New players should not be thrown against experienced players with no protection at all.
But protecting beginners is not the same thing as forcing every competent player into increasingly intense lobbies until public matches become exhausting.

When players start holding back because they’re afraid of what the matchmaking will do after a good game, the system has failed.
I want to play the game, not manage my performance to avoid triggering some invisible punishment.

The movement and map design are another major reason I prefer Treyarch.

Modern Warfare 4 gives players too many places to hide, too many corners to check, and too many angles where someone can sit completely still and wait for an easy kill.
Moving through the map often feels like taking an unnecessary risk. Trying to play aggressively can feel less like a skillful decision and more like volunteering to get punished.
The game frequently rewards players for holding an angle instead of creating engagements. That might be Infinity Ward’s preferred style, but I don’t think it works well for an arcade shooter.
And if someone says that this is simply how Infinity Ward wants its games to play, my response is simple: that doesn’t make the design good.

Call of Duty should feel quick, responsive, and energetic. Players should be able to move, challenge enemies, and make aggressive plays without feeling like the entire map was built to punish them for leaving cover.
That is one of the biggest differences I feel when playing Treyarch games. Black Ops generally does a better job of supporting an active playstyle without making slower players completely irrelevant.
I don’t need rushing to be the only viable strategy. I just don’t want the game to make movement feel like a fucking error.

This is why Infinity Ward has lost so much of my trust.

The problem isn’t one isolated feature. It’s the entire combination: unreliable gunfights, exhausting matchmaking, passive map design, and a gameplay philosophy that doesn’t match what I want from Call of Duty anymore.

Treyarch, on the other hand, has produced some of my favourite games in the series. Black Ops 2 is still my number one Call of Duty, and Black Ops 6 gave me one of the most enjoyable multiplayer experiences I’ve had in years.
Treyarch has made mistakes. Its games are not flawless, and I’m not going to pretend otherwise.
But there’s a difference between criticizing a developer’s flaws and feeling like its overall design direction is fundamentally wrong for you.
I can complain about Treyarch and still feel that its multiplayer philosophy is much closer to what Call of Duty should be.

That’s why I would rather see Treyarch take the lead than watch Infinity Ward continue making decisions that push me toward uninstalling the game.

And to the people who defend every Infinity Ward decision or insist that aggressive SBMM is necessary in every public match, I genuinely wonder if you remember what made Call of Duty so appealing.

You’re allowed to enjoy this style of matchmaking. But dismissing every criticism by saying people are simply bad or afraid of competition is lazy.

Some of us have been playing this franchise for 15 years. Some of us have posted strong stats across multiple games. We can handle difficult matches. That doesn’t mean we want every casual session to feel like a professional tournament.
A good KD does not mean I want to sweat from the first match to the last. Being experienced does not mean I want every lobby to be a test of endurance.

I want a Call of Duty that rewards skill without turning every match into work, supports movement, provides reliable gunfights, and gives public lobbies some actual variety.

That should not be an unreasonable expectation.
Modern Warfare 4 has not convinced me that Infinity Ward has corrected its biggest problems. It has done the opposite: it has made me appreciate Treyarch’s approach even more.
I’ll take the Black Ops style of multiplayer over another Infinity Ward game that makes casual gaming feel like a fucking obligation.
Treyarch is not perfect, but it still feels far closer to the kind of Call of Duty multiplayer I actually want to spend my time playing.

Edit : IW fanboys are mad when they need to face the truth on what’s a good COD. Iw fanboys are fake fans of the franchise

general gameplay Modern Warfare 4 Proves Infinity Ward Still Doesn’t Get Call of Duty Multiplayer

I’m going to be direct: Modern Warfare 4 has once again convinced me that Infinity Ward doesn’t understand what makes a good Call of Duty multiplayer.
For a moment, I genuinely thought we were finally going to get a Modern Warfare game that got things right. The campaign is engaging, and DMZ actually has a lot of potential this year. It’s a mode that genuinely makes me want to come back and play more.
But then there’s the multiplayer.
And once again, Infinity Ward manages to remind me why I’ve lost so much faith in them.
First, the gunfights are ridiculously inconsistent.
I’ve had multiple gunfights where I start shooting first, land what feels like several shots, and still get deleted before I can even react. Other engagements feel completely different, even when I’m using the same weapons and playing under the same conditions.
And no, I’m not going to blame everything on my settings or my connection. I’m playing on PS5 with console-only crossplay. At some point, we need to acknowledge that something isn’t right with the consistency of these gunfights.
When you can’t reliably trust what you’re seeing and experiencing in a gunfight, the entire multiplayer experience becomes frustrating.
Second, the SBMM is way too aggressive. Again.
I had a 2.07 KD in Black Ops 6 and around a 1.89 KD in Black Ops 7. I’m clearly not a complete beginner, and I’m not pretending to be one.
I’ve also been playing Call of Duty since the first Black Ops. After 15 years of playing this franchise, I think I have a pretty good idea of what makes a good Call of Duty and what makes a bad one. I know the difference between simply having a bad match and dealing with design choices that consistently make the multiplayer experience worse.
But here’s the thing: my goal has never been to drop massive games every single match. I just want to have fun.
I don’t care about having insane stats every day. I don’t need to drop 50 kills every match to enjoy Call of Duty.
Yet the matchmaking makes it feel like every single lobby has to be a fucking sweatfest. Even when I just want to sit down, relax, and play a few matches, I’m constantly being put into games where I feel like I have to try my absolute hardest just to compete.
If dropping 50 kills in ONE match means the game is going to make every subsequent match feel like a tournament, then something is seriously wrong with the system.
Public matches shouldn’t feel like ranked matches disguised as casual multiplayer. I’m tired of having to fight the matchmaking just to enjoy the game.
Third, the map design continues to punish movement.
There are way too many corners, hiding spots, and angles to watch. Moving around the map feels like a fucking liability because there’s always another spot where someone can sit and wait for you.
Instead of encouraging players to move, take fights, and keep the action flowing, the maps constantly reward people for sitting back, holding angles, and waiting for someone else to make the first move.
And before someone tells me that this is just a different gameplay philosophy, I don’t care.
A different philosophy doesn’t automatically make it good Call of Duty.
Call of Duty is supposed to have an arcade feel. It should reward aggression, movement, reaction time, and the ability to win gunfights. It shouldn’t constantly make you feel like moving around is a mistake.
I’m not asking for movement to be completely risk-free. I’m asking for a game where aggressive players aren’t constantly punished simply for trying to play aggressively.
And this is exactly why I keep losing faith in Infinity Ward. Year after year, it feels like they keep doubling down on the same design decisions that make their multiplayer games frustrating to play.
At this point, Modern Warfare 4 has pushed me over the edge.
The campaign is good. DMZ has potential. I’m not saying the entire game is terrible, and I’m not pretending there aren’t things worth enjoying.
But multiplayer? I’m genuinely fed up.
I’m tired of inconsistent gunfights, overly aggressive SBMM, maps that encourage camping, and a gameplay philosophy that seems to work against the kind of fast-paced, arcade-style experience that made me love Call of Duty in the first place.
I’ve played Call of Duty since the first Black Ops, and I’ve spent the last 15 years playing these games. I know what I enjoy about this franchise, and I have a pretty clear idea of what separates a good Call of Duty from a bad one. I’m not expecting every game to be perfect, but I expect the developers to understand what makes this series fun.
And honestly, I’m done giving Infinity Ward the benefit of the doubt when it comes to multiplayer.
One last thing, and I know some people won’t like hearing this:
If you’re still blindly defending Infinity Ward in 2026, it makes me question how well you actually understand what made Call of Duty what it is. If you genuinely enjoy their current multiplayer philosophy, that’s your choice. But if you can’t acknowledge the problems with the matchmaking, map design, and gunfight consistency, then I don’t know what to tell you.
And yes, I’m going to say it: some of you have gotten way too comfortable with a version of Call of Duty that caters to casual playstyles while punishing the very things that made this franchise exciting.
I’m not asking Infinity Ward to cater exclusively to veteran players. I’m asking them to stop designing multiplayer around systems and maps that make the experience miserable for the people who want to move, take fights, and actually play the fucking game.
I’m done giving Infinity Ward endless chances. Modern Warfare 4 was supposed to give me a reason to believe in them again. Instead, it has given me another reason not to.

Console Help [COD] Is there a fix for MW19 Camapign on Playstation?

For years i cant play the campaign.
1. I install the game with every dlc
2. I start the game and only mp works singleplayer and coop says there is a missing dlc then it brings me to the store where it says that the store is unavaiable.
3. I close the game i look at the Information of the game and suddently the game shrunk from 222gb to 139gb and half of the dlcs that i installed says that there are not installed but as i said i installed every dlc.

Tried Solutions that didnt work.
1. Restore licenses and database
2. Disconnect the ps4 from Internet
3. Only install campaign packs

And yes i have an activision account connected and its a digital copy so no region locked.

I also have a jailbroken ps4 maybe i just pirate a 1.00 Version of the Game because this is such a nightmare

But it would be cool if someone got a Solution because I truly want to know why it doesnt work.

Thanks

Got the new mw4, love it. One problem though. My graphics started being fucky all of a sudden put of nowhere and it makes my game look weird as hell. Have tried redownloading shaders and rearranging graphics settings but it doesnt seem to make an impact? Wondering if anyone knows why it looks like this. Colors and pixels feel off even though i have a high end graphics card (4070 nvidia)
