Moderation/Update READ FIRST: Updated Rules & Posting Guidelines

—📌🕒 Approx. 3-minute read —

Hi everyone,

We’ve recently refined our community guidelines to help keep this subreddit helpful, clutter-free, and welcoming—especially for new members. Please take a moment to read before posting.

🔁 1. Use the General Discussion Thread When Appropriate

Before making a new post, ask yourself: Could this go in the General Discussion Thread instead?

This recurring thread (posted quarterly and stickied at the top) is here for: - Less discussion-heavy content
- Common/repetitive questions (especially about admissions and academics)
- Personal or off-topic messages that are still worth sharing

Examples of what belongs in the General Discussion Thread: - Admission or academic concerns

(Please read the student handbook first—it usually has the answer!) - CLSU-related but personal topics
(e.g., “Looking for a book on XX subject”) - Off-topic content
(e.g., “Anyone here play online games?”)

🟡 Moderation Note: Posts about general academic concerns will be allowed briefly. They may be removed after 24 hours or once a helpful answer is given.
🔴 Broken or poorly written post titles (especially with major grammar issues) may result in the thread being locked.

📝 2. When Can You Post?

If your topic doesn't fall under the general thread categories above, you’re welcome to post it on its own. Focus on meaningful, well-thought-out content that adds to the community.

Examples of acceptable stand-alone posts: - Personal experiences or study tips at CLSU

(The more detailed, the better!) - Questions about CLSU life
(e.g., “What’s the Lantern Festival like?”) - Rants or vent posts
(As long as they’re constructive or relatable) - CLSU-related content (photos, memes, or news)
(Make sure it's relevant, titled clearly, and not low-effort) - Admission or academic concerns
(These topics may be permitted so long as it's substantial (or unique) and invite discussion)

🚫 Surveys are not allowed, whether for class research, academic purposes, or general feedback.

⚠️ Low-effort posts (one-liners, vague questions, or no context) may be removed.

🚫 Content that references drugs, pornography, rape, or other sensitive/offensive topics will be removed, even if mentioned indirectly or jokingly.

🛑 Doxxing or anything that may identify a specific person (e.g., names, photos, descriptions of individuals) will also be removed. Screenshots of personal conversations are also not allowed.

🚫 Posts that aim to instigate an argument to create conflict with other users or students of CLSU may be removed, please keep it civil.

📜 3. Know the Rules

It only takes a minute to read the rules—and it helps a lot!

  • On mobile: Check the “About” section
  • On desktop: Look in the sidebar under the community description

Thanks for helping make this subreddit a better place!
Happy redditting, everyone! 🎓💬

Opinion/Rant Me lamba may mayabang na ka-dormate na btled na rotc-basic?? grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

for context 1st year kami lahat.

  1. Super matapobre

- bale ganito kasi yan, tinanong niya ako kung magkano yung allowance ko, tas ako naman na lutang rin, sinabi ko tas doon na nya umaasta na para bang ang rk ko na. i mean siguro fault ko lang rin na sinabi ko yung allowance ko (which is hindi naman ganun kalaki for a student). ever since then grabe na sya makaparinig ng libre, and nung nag-aapply ako for scholarship ng TES grabe makaparinig---kesyo dapat daw yung mga katulad ko hindi na nag-aapply for scholarship dahil may stable kami na allowance, ganyan....so like dun talaga ako na off sa kaniya.

  1. Ingay mag review

  1. Gahaman

- meron kaming napag-usapan na magsshare kami ng ulam para mas tipid sa gastos. syempre payag lahat kaya kanya-kanya kami ng dalang mga gulay ganun. for the longest time siya yung as in walang ambag, mapa condiments, gulay, mantika, kahit ano. Nung una iniintindi namin siya kasi nya gipit na gipit na daw siya (which is weird dahil marami siyang dumadating na shopee per week, for skincare ganun). Tapos nung one time na wala akong ambag sinisingil nya ako kasi daw hindi ako nagdala at siya yung nagluto????

  1. Annoying kasama

- that time nalaman ko na pwede magwalk in for id (tas kalaunan binawi ng oad). sympre nagmemake up ako.

Question / Help How do you think Lantern will work this year, considering how strict the university has become?

Expected na maraming visitors, families, alumni, and other people na gustong makapasok sa university to watch the event. Will there be designated entrances for visitors? Kailangan ba ng registration or some kind of pass? Or do you think magkakaroon ng limit sa number of outsiders na puwedeng pumasok?

Pero at the same time, Lantern is an event na maraming taong inaabangan, including people who aren’t part of the university.

What do you guys think?? :))

Question / Help CLSU applicant here "We're having trouble connecting to server... "

Hello, I'm trying to fill out the CLSU application for the academic year 2027-2028. However, I'm having difficulty in submitting the application procedure no. 4

I have the documents and are able to attach them, but when I try submitting them it always ends up saying that it couldn't and that they were having trouble connecting to servers, I should check my internet, and that I should try again. I have done this procedure for over a month or almost a month now and using my internet and data. However it still hasn't worked for me.

What should I do? Should I just wait it out hoping one day it would submit? Is anyone having the same troubles?

Thank you!

Question / Help What will happen if I drop next sem huehue hahawhhdhc

Hello po! I'm planning to transfer out na po kasi despite loving siel huhu di ko po kasi talaga gusto program ko ngayon kaya pinapipili ako. It's either mag stop ako ngayon para magtransfer next acad year sa ibang uni na trip ko or stay sa prog na di ko talaga gusto then shift sa another program na sinusuggest ng mama ko hahaha. Ngayon, I don't know aaaaaa I really do need insights sa situation ko right now to help me decide. Pero at the same time natatakot ako na magstart ulit as a first year

Campus Culture & Lifestyle activism culture in campus is finally becoming normal again… i love it

i’m a fourth year student, basically kami yung unang batch na may clsu cat, unang batch na full face to face talaga nagsimula (batch before us ay 2nd sem lang nag face to face)… so you probably has idea na medyo nasaksihan ko talaga yung pag usbong ng mga rally at mobilizations sa campus.

honestly, sobrang nakakatuwa. students are now becoming more conscious in social issues, and they are actually mobilizing to air out their voices, even conducting walkouts. freshies, sophomores, juniors, seniors, and future iskos, hindi kumpleto ang CLSU experience niyo kapag di kayo makakadalo ng mob kahit isang beses lang, it will literally change how the way u look at the society.

dati nang may activism culture sa clsu prepandemic as my profs would say, and it is soooo good to see it back, and becoming normal as they advance forward.

Opinion/Rant Bakit bawal mag exit sa main gate’s exit?

Post image
25 Upvotes

For the step 3(grades), is Earth and Life Science subject and Earth Science subject the same?

Kinakabahan aq magkamali sa grades huhu.

Sa school namin(g11-12, STEM) walang earth and life science so I’m thinking na siguro yung Earth Sci namin yon but since it’s application medj hesitant ako ilagay and think na same sila🥲

Question / Help Any advice, planning to transfer in CLSU

Hello po, I’m currently a freshman taking BS Accountancy, from community college and I’m planning to transfer to CLSU.

Online application po ba siya or walk-in?

Saan po pupunta or kanino po dapat mag-inquire if I want to transfer to the BSA program?

Thank you po!

Hi po! I'm a 1st year student and naka board sa pnr, and lilipat ako sa roseville in oct. Opinion/Rant siel dorm water problem NA TWO MONTHS NA🫩🫩

wala ba plano para maayos to?? jusko basic human right ang pagkakaroon ng malinis na tubig. pero what?? either walang tubig, may buhangin ang tubig, o kinakalawang. di ka manlang makatae, makaligo, makaihi o makapag toothbrush. magkakasakit ka na babaho ka pa. tapos sasabihin samin mag ipon ng tubig kasi mawawalan ng tubig at a certain time, when in fact tulog ka pa lang sa umaga wala nang tubig
