Funny Coffee Dates SUCK

Post image

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I thought the whole point of a coffee date (usually first date) was intended for low pressure and emotional energy? It’s perfect because if things work out you can plan something more extravagant on date 2 but if the vibes aren’t there you can exit quickly. It makes me wonder what else she refuses to apologize for lol

See, I don't mind people having preferences, it's the fact that their preferences are enveloped in bullshit like "coffee dates are cheap and men should stop whining about women not liking them."

Just say, "I prefer dinner dates." That's it.

Like, why is that so hard?

I like coffee dates and walking dates and dessert dates. For all the reasons you listed -- fun, no pressure, low risk, etc. Don't have to even mention hating dinner dates or insult people who like them.

I agree. It's a huge turn off when someone's dating profile is filled with things they don't like or are annoyed by. Ok cool... all I've learned about you is that you seem pretty miserable lol. Tell us the things that you want and like!

Precisely! Like, if I see a whole, "I don't do this, don't swipe right if you're like this, you need to have this and do this for me," I'm swiping left. I wouldn't even want to befriend that person. That comea off like a miserable person who doesn't care to connect with people.

Its weird cause you can so easily just flip each one and say what you like/want.
I like x, I want someone with x, swipe right if youre x"

There are plenty of women on dating apps and in real life that want to be whined and dined and think they are doing the guy a favor by just gracing him with her presence and they won't just do that for a simple coffee. They want the man to spend a lot of money and think they are worth more than just a coffee and a muffin or whatever.

I was under the assumption that a date was about two strangers that find each other semi-attractive and want to get to know each other to see if they want to spend more time with each other. Evidently I'm completely wrong and it's all about the guy just buying the woman a bunch of stuff and getting her a steak dinner and taking her to fancy places and paying for everything.

You mean it's not a major turn on and green flag when you see: "No coffee dates. No Christians. No moderates. No men under 6'5. No men with crappy ass jobs. No teachers or nurses. No public transport"
????

This. People are entitled to their own preferences but it’s completely unnecessary to impose them on others or throw shade just because someone else may not be aligned with that.

Many people in the comments section are not aware of how similar they actually are to the girl in the post… dissing people just based off a preference.

Calling it “cheap” is the red flag. That’s someone just shamelessly fishing for free meals

I wouldn’t go on a coffee date because I hate coffee, but I do agree weird negativity on a profile gets a left swipe even I I agree with her point that they are in fact cheap and lame.

Their "preference" is having someone buy them food. That's why lol. Like how can you be in a relationship with someone and never be able to enter coffee shops with them? Obviously it's because it's not about that.

It’s literally falling into the sexist stereotype - that women can’t just say what they want, they only complain about what they don’t like and that you can’t read their minds.

Even if I agreed with someone about the thing they don’t like, I’d just be thinking we aren’t compatible in general.
