Success Story Thanks Bumble 💚🧡
Not even two and a half years ago, we were both just struggling through life. My partner is bi and was sick of men, with not much luck with women either. I was completely lost after having a breakdown at work and starting medication for anxiety.
Then one day, we found each other - over a simple song in a Bumble profile. Now we’re married! It was the absolute best day of our lives, and every day we say how we can’t believe we found each other.
You’ve gotta be really fucking patient, but please - don’t settle for anything less than what feels absolutely right. 🧡

I always love a red suit. Very bold. I like it. Congrats to both of you
How long were you on the apps for before you met?
31
u/GaryGump Jul 17 '25
I was on the apps for about 4 years and my wife was on and off for a number of years but had little relationships in between.

I didn't know Emma Stone and Christopher Mintz-Plasse were married. Did they meet on the set of Superbad?
Congrats!

Funny you should say that because I actually looked the spit of Michael Cera back in 2008, less so now though.

We are laughing our heads off at the conspiracy theory comments while we are on a little mini-honeymoon in Edinburgh. Thanks for the love guys 🧡

May all your days be even happier than this one!
My apologies if I missed it in the comments, but which song was it that brought you together?

u/GaryGump Jul 18 '25
Thank you! And thanks for asking! It was Sugar, We’re Going Down by Fall Out Boy. I’m an old school emo boy and my wife had the song in her profile. I messaged as it’s one of my favourites ever! She replied saying she was going to the show at the end of that year, and lucky for me - I ended up getting her spare ticket.
We played it after our first dance too :)

The ideal use of a dating app and social media✌🏽 (and, fortunately, cases like yours still occur).
May you thrive together in unison!

Sorry to be a buzzkill but I see these posts periodically on Bumble and find them suspect. I'm a writer and editor and notice that the descriptions have a contrived and generic texture and tone to them. "struggling through life" "a simple song in a Bumble profile" "medication for anxiety" etc
My guess: these are covert ads placed by Bumble to counter the messy dating stories posted here.

That is possible, but OPs profile is 13 years old and he has massive karma…so if it’s true he has been playing a REALLY long game.

I feel like an editor should take the 30 seconds it requires to check the profile and see that it seems very, very legitimate.

I tried Bumble for a while, just the same mice wheel.
Boo was different. Two weeks and I found THE one, it's been 7 extremely happy months so far.

It’s funny you should say that because I only ever had luck on Hinge. I had one bad date from Bumble and then my wife popped up soon after.

How many OLD first dates did you go through before finding each other? Congrats!
2
u/GaryGump Jul 19 '25
Far too many. I became single right at the start of 2019 and then was living alone in Covid, so it was all very on and off. My wife came out of a relationship just before Covid hit too so we both were not really dating in that time, but just trying things out until life got back to normal.

I met my now wife on Hinge back in 2019 so it can work! Congratulations to you two.

I think you two should give yourselves all the credit to make it to this point to be honest. Bumble actively tries to make it so that relationships are always sought for and never reached, but you two clearly have made it past that point and found real love. Congrats to you two!

Congrats! Inspiration for the bi guys we see on this sub who say it's impossible to find a woman.

My wife is a MEGA Sims nerd! She will love to hear this. She actually created our venue in The Sims and mocked up a procession video for our wedding party to watch so they knew their jobs!

Remember that one time Sokka accidentally used an extra syllable in that Haiku Battle in Ba Sing Se? That was a Sokka Haiku and you just made one.

Maybe to you. Mind your own business. It’s not your relationship so it’s not your place to judge that.

Well you’re a white man so that’s the standard. Congrats though wish black men and other minorities got more recognition and respect on the apps but it’s never the case.
