There are, especially on their online channels.

But in general, the cable news networks realized that people much rather watch news commentators than actual journalists. And given these networks are fundamentally businesses... they're gonna do what makes them money and stick those commentators in prime time positions for the ad revenue.

For better or worse, it's what market wanted, so the networks obliged.

Fox News Digital is barely journalism today. Their online channels resemble something akin to the New York Post. It’s not quality work at best. At worst, it’s reprehensible.

CNN and MS NOW are largely the same. It’s all garbage. Cable news networks do not invest in quality work. The best thing anyone can do is not watch them.

Oh yeah, it's clear they're not making investments into the online channels. But there are journalists there.

You are correct though. None of it is all that good. The cable news networks realized they need to invest in personalities and commentators in order to survive, so that's what they're doing... at the expense of their actual newsrooms.

It’s an entertainment network. They have blatantly admitted this

Not part of the business plan.

The ones who were competent honest journalists all finally left, but they did have a few at one time.

They have a news arm and a Washington bureau. Low bar, but that’s what I consider the lowest level of journalism. -‘
