I'm looking for books that will make me feel how these paintings do, hopefully my descriptions make sense:
Sad nostalgia
But at the same time a contentment and happiness in everyday life, moments of joy in small things
That feeling you get the first time you do something as a kid and realise it isn't fun anymore because you're older now
Realistic rural life that feels immersed in the culture (I'm not particular about where exactly it's set, just want a strong sense of setting/culture in a rural place)
Limited to a small perspective, a world that feels small and focused with everything else being "outside" like when you think back on a memory and it feels like that's all that existed in that moment

Books where the main character is a mother raising her child. Maybe they both go on an adventure or they learn magic together or something?

Preferably FMC but ill take both!

Piranesi in specific has my brain in an absolute pretzel. I've read it three times now and each time get more lost in my own thoughts. I got similar vibes for the The Last House and Incidents around the house. I'm here for the ambiguity! I'm open to all genres. Happy reading!

I want oddities roaming the streets, antiques in shops coming to life, squirrels delivering your mail, theatres accepting payment in candy, talking clocks and books, flying carriages and a stylistic, immersive writing style that feels like someone from their world wrote it.

I’m hoping to find an older literature set between the (1920s-1970s) romance book with this kind of vibe? A masculine old school kinda guy for the main character who’s deeply in love and gentle with the main girl, but possibly not so much with others. I’m honestly hoping for just a slow calm romance piece of literature that’s well written. I’m sorry if this doesn’t make much sense but the old rustic country kinda vibe is deeply comforting to me and I’m a sucker for some good romance. The closest dynamic I could think of is rip and Beth from Yellowstone.

Looking for books that are dark, spooky, suspenseful, mysterious. Books that give a general feeling of malaise, uneasiness, foreboding. Can be horror (no gore though, please), dark academia, mystery, monsters, witches, ghosts.... I'm pretty open! Whatever book these pictures make you think of... I want it!! Thanks, and happy reading! 🖤

I don’t mind any plot, or main character, as long as it’s in the western genre and I’m leaning towards a little more character driven. Don’t mind a bit of fantasy either, if the setting is western.
Westerns I’ve already read: Lonesome Dove, True Grit, Gods Country, The Sisters Brothers, all of Cormac McCarthy’s books, The Son, Butchers Crossing, Whiskey When We’re Dry.

I really want to get into dark fantasy horror but I have no idea where to start! I’ve been on the hunt for a book that has creepy Elden Ring-vibes. I have heard of Between Two Fires and it is on my to-read list, is there anything else you guys recommend?

I'm loving this series, and also loved Our Wives Under the Sea and Wild Dark Shore, so creepy ocean-based mysteries are definitely a niche genre preference. (Tagged Thriller/Mystery but open to all genres!)
Bonus points if it takes place in Newfoundland or at least Canada 🇨🇦

I am moving across the country tomorrow by myself and I really want a book that will bring me some peace and perspective while navigating such a terrifying change. Something written really beautifully about connection, love, loss, the universe, or anything really. Can be fiction or non fiction. Thanks!

Hello Everyone,
If you haven’t read the (Amazing imo) AMM series, here’s a description of what I’m looking for. TY!
Dark, surreal, psychological science-fiction book that blends cosmic horror, existential dread, and philosophical themes surrounding identity, consciousness, trauma, and the fragility of the human mind. Something atmospheric and deeply introspective, featuring an unsettling alien presence, distorted perceptions of reality, and a protagonist struggling with paranoia and their own sense of self.

I'm not exactly looking for Horror, but I want something like going in a journey with the character, maybe a place the character goes to has a creepy feeling to it, for whatever reason.

Cat and mouse thrillers.

If you haven't grabbed Vermis by Plastiboo yet I'm loving it. You should get it too! I'm looking for some actual novels (I guess graphic novels could work too!) that are fantasy/medieval horror. Bleak, hopeless, atmospheric! Let me know what else is out there that I might not have heard of!
No romance or romantasy.
Books I've already read in this category that you might like:
Vermis (Vol. 1) - Plastiboo
Hellmouth - Giles Kristian
Books in this category I plan to read but haven't yet:
Between Two Fires... by whomesever Between Two Fires is by!

I’m looking for something cozy and eerie, with the feeling of autumn turning into winter, foggy woods, the first snow, candlelit rooms, old houses, maybe a strange little community with a secret. Horror or a psychological thriller would both work.
I loved the atmosphere of Hex, so something eerie and immersive like that would be great. I’m having trouble describing the exact vibe, but hopefully the pictures help! Would love a more recent book. Not a classic.
I read The Winter People and it wasn’t for me, so I’m good on that one.
