This Is An Outreach for Those Struggling with Addiction

In light of a recent post that gained some traction, I was saddened to see that OP has deleted their account. I wanted to take a moment to make an outreach post for anyone who may be struggling right now.

As Black people, as Black men, and even more specifically as Black trans folks, we face so many internal and external challenges every day. It’s easy to slip into emotional dependence on something, whether it’s gambling, alcohol, drugs (including weed), vaping, smoking, or any other substance that offers even a moment of relief.

The problem comes when those things become our only way to cope, when drinking, smoking, or placing a bet starts to feel like a need rather than a choice. That’s when it starts taking more from us than we realize.

But you’re not alone. I recently got a notification saying we’ve reached 4,000 members, and our community is growing every day. I know it’s hard to trust people, to find community, or to share your story without feeling judged, but I promise you there are people who care. I care.

Please use this post, and I’ll make it a thread if needed, to vent, share, or open up about anything you’re struggling with right now. You don’t have to go through it alone.

New Rule: No Studies

The Mod team has discussed and since we aren't affluent in what is a legit study vs what is a scam we have decided to no longer accept any posts about studies.

While we appreciate the legit studies that are being done for the betterment of the community. We also need to keep the community safe from those who wish us harm in these trying times (especially those based in the US atm, but of course all our brothers matter and we care about the risk for all black trans men across the world).

Advice for a haircut in the closet?

Long story short, anything like locs or braids are out of the question. When I get my hair cut (close to this) it just never comes out right, even if I'm direct about what I want and lower my expectations

They usually blow dry it straight, trim it, and restyle it curly. There's always too much on the sides, high on top and round. My hair always looks like an afro after a few days.

Problem is I can't just get a super masculine, shaped up haircut because I'm in the closet. Any help?

discussion Werforher Hollow dildo reviews

Okay yall ive seen a lot of discourse in the lesbian community about this new dildo with a ftm stroker base, I need to know has anyone on testosterone tried it? I’ve only seen one review saying that the depth of the hole is not long enough if you have bottom growth. Buuuut I’m tryna see is it worth my dollars. It looks like it can give quite the sensation 😮‍💨💯

Like I feel my bottom growth is long but because of my anatomy I gotta do a crazy stretch if I’d wanna put it in someone but I’d be down to have a dildo that feels like an extension 🙌🏾💜

vent Struggle being closeted.

I have known of my trans identity for 2+ years now and have been on T for 4 months. My voice has been dropping, and my family is starting to take notice. So, as I struggle with dysphoria and mental issues, I have the older women in my family constantly talking about how the things I do to affirm my gender aren't "cute".

Talking in a deeper voice = not cute

Dressing masculinely = not cute

Not wanting to get my hair done in feminine styles = not cute

Not wanting to wear shapewear or clothes that show off my figure = not cute

I'm so tired of feeling like I need to perform all the time so that they feel happy. I have more women in my family than men, so it's constant picking, prodding, gossiping, and belittling from them all the time. They were kind of supportive because at first they saw it as me going against the patriarchy and redefining womanhood by being a tomboy (that dresses feminine and acts feminine when expected), but now they are just degrading me and calling me names (mostly my mom).

They can be so abusive, and I'm in such a good place where I'm starting to feel like myself and feel affirmed more than when I was hyper fem (before I went through burnout and was just like "I wanna be me").

I still live with my mom (very religious and misinformed, but she's convinced she's right all the time), but my older cousin (used to be a nurse and was the first to point out my voice drop and straight up asked me, "Are you on the male hormone?" she called it progesterone, but I know what she meant) influences her a lot, and so they both talk shit about me in front of me about my voice.

I don't know what to do, and it feels like they make me feel ashamed and disgusting at times. I also get worried they'll find out. My mom has an idea because she's opened my binder, but I just tell her I'm a tomboy, and I've got them convinced my voice is deep due to practicing.

TLDR; My mom and way older cousin keep making comments on my voice and degrade me for my presentation almost all the time. As I progress on T, I'm scared it will only get worse.

I won’t be location specific (where in Kenya) bc safety and you never really know what Rutos government is up to 👀

advice Using kinesiology tape

Post image
27 Upvotes

Hey guys, I'm having a bad time with kinesiology tape (every trans tape is made with this material in my country Brazil). Be careful while using, if u have big breasts, I would not recommend it (my case). I'm theses bubbles were made bc I strechted the tape more than necessary. I also have a lot of glue on my skin, that's a terrible sensation. I'm sad bc I really enjoyed using it.

celebratory My top surgery consultation is TOMORROW!!! 😭🎉

GUYS. MY TOP SURGERY CONSULTATION IS TOMORROW!!! 😭😭
I’ve been waiting for this appointment for MONTHS, and it’s finally here. I’m seeing Dr. Buckley tomorrow, and I genuinely cannot believe it’s happening. It still doesn’t feel real.
I’m so excited, but I’m also nervous because this is something I’ve thought about so much. I’ve spent so much time researching, thinking about my goals, and imagining what I want my chest to look like. I want a natural, masculine, athletic chest that fits the person I’m becoming, and I’m finally getting to talk through all of that with my surgeon.
I even wrote out all my aesthetic goals and questions because I KNOW I’m going to be nervous and don’t want to forget anything. 😂
I’m trying to remind myself that tomorrow is a consultation, not the day I have to have everything figured out. I just get to talk about my goals, ask questions, and take the next step toward something I’ve wanted for a long time.
I’m feeling about a million emotions at once, but mostly I’M SO EXCITED. 😭❤️

If you’ve had your consultation already, how did you feel the night before? And for anyone who has seen Dr. Buckley, I’d love to hear about your experience!

vent Mom gave me thirty days

She’s threatening to kick me out cause she feels threatened by me taking testosterone. I don’t do any hard drugs, rarely drink, and I’m her homecare aid. She compares me taking testosterone with doing meth or cocaine. I’m hoping my grandfather will talk her out of it.

only asking this since my white therapist said that i sound masculine, and all thought they meant well and it did make me feel good i also know that black people will sound masculine to any person who isn’t black no matter what…so i decided to do this test to get y’alls opinion

edit: thanks for all of your input even if it did disappoint me a little lol. guess i just have to voice train until then

discussion Can we talk?

Okay, so I want to talk sexual attraction vs. a desire for long-term intimacy—or the ability to see myself with someone long-term. When I was living as a woman, I was attracted to men, though I rarely enjoyed intercourse with men unless assisted by alcohol (which, ayeeee—365 days of intentional sobriety as of 10/7/26!).

That said, I love women—no question there. I enjoy watching cis men when consuming porn, but I can’t help but wonder if that’s still a tie to what I don’t have yet, as I have not undergone phallo. I know that question is ultimately for me to answer, but I do know I don’t like intercourse in the sense of being penetrated.

I often feel that if I were to seek a long-term relationship with a man, he would likely be trans. Based on my lifetime of experience with cis men, I’m not particularly interested in a long-term relationship with them, but I often find myself physically attracted to a variety of men and masc-presenting nonbinary people.

To those who wish to contribute, tell me about your experiences—what has your journey looked like? I feel painfully certain in my desire to be with a woman long-term, but I was also once painfully certain that if I couldn’t drink, I couldn’t go. 😅
