I mean we would go months without a single question about it here. I guess there is a slew of people that like that grind. So who is going to tell all these kids that there is almost a 100 percent chance you will have to start over when there is a major update?

Since 0.39, I feel the game has opened the door to a lot of improvements on particles and visual effects. I've always found the afterfire a bit cheap, so I decided to build a mod that replaces it with a flame simulated in real time, rendered as a volume, that lights up its surroundings.
Youtube teaser: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HRHDqGTUvw8
A quick disclaimer: I couldn't have built this from A to Z on my own, so I used Claude to help me write it, and to set up the tools I needed for proper benchmarks and in-game testing. I want to be upfront about that. I'm a senior front-end developer myself, and AI slop is the last thing I wanted to put out. The goal was to use AI to do careful, quality work that I hope you'll enjoy.
Performance: I'm running the game on a high-end PC (RTX 5090, 64Gb RAM), so of course it runs well on my end: even with 8 cars backfiring at once, it adds at most around 0.2 ms per frame. That says very little about mid-range or AMD cards, which is exactly why I want to release it quickly as a beta: your feedback on real-world hardware is what I need most. The mod will come with settings to adjust the quality and some aspects of the flames, so you can tune it to your setup.
The mod isn't public yet: I still have some testing to do, as I'd rather not release something that doesn't work well. It will be free, and should be out soon.
Any first feedback is very welcome!

I always wanted to make something like this when I was younger because I actually had a dream about it lol. Wipeout, but the contestants are cars!
I originally made this while updating the airborne controls for my trampoline mods, but I thought I'd try something new for a change, and noticed that the pressure ball has a really inflatable-like feeling to it. Cool, right!?

50000 liter or 10998 gallons hazardous fluid drop off. Payout was $95253 so this was not really worth it. With 35400 liters i had a $89228 payout. Never again but i thought this run wouldn’t be possible until it did 😂

BeamNG cars being so detailed, and realistic, what are the chanses that our beloved devs decide to partner with a company that makes scale model kits, tamiya for example, or others.
Would be a pretty cool way to decorate a living room or bedroom, as well as fun for those who enjoy building these kits

Thought id treat myself. Bought the game Thursday and made a career mode Saturday night, if someone explained the career mode to me id have said it was boring but its genuinely some of the most fun ive been having on a game for a long time. The premise of crash once and you've ruined it keeps it fresh and on your seat, focused up, i just wish you could use the other maps on vanilla ps5 version for career

Heyy! After BeamNG received native DLSS support, Frame Generation is now also available in a BeamNG mod, not only for RTX 40 and 50 GPUs, but also for RTX 20 and 30 cards.
I’ve called this mod FrameGenNG. It is a free and open-source project that adds Frame Generation directly to BeamNG’s graphics settings, just below the DLSS options. It uses NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation (DLSS-G) rather than replacing it with an FSR-based alternative. The mod generates intermediate frames between those rendered by the game: 60 base FPS with the 2× mode can produce up to 120 displayed FPS, while 30 base FPS with the 3× mode can reach up to 90 FPS.
NVIDIA officially limits Frame Generation to RTX 40 and 50 GPUs, mainly due to the performance of their Optical Flow Accelerator and the additional optimization required for older architectures. However, several community projects, which heavily inspired my work, have demonstrated that RTX 20 and 30 GPUs are not technically incapable of running this technology. FrameGenNG adapts this work specifically for BeamNG, making Frame Generation available across the entire RTX lineup.
I’ve tried to make installation as simple as possible. You only need to extract the "FrameGenNG" folder from the ZIP directly into the BeamNG root directory, open the manager, and click Install. The manager handles the installation automatically and backs up every game file it modifies. It can also repair or update the mod, as well as completely uninstall it and restore BeamNG’s original files.
The project is still young and has mainly been tested with my RTX 3060 Laptop GPU. Personally, I went from around 40/60 FPS on High settings to 70/90 FPS on Ultra using the 2× mode. I’m therefore particularly interested in feedback from RTX 20, 40, and 50 owners so I can validate the mod on more hardware configurations and identify any bugs that need fixing.
For future updates, one of my main goals is to better separate the HUD and menus from the generated gameplay frames. This should reduce ghosting and other visual artifacts around interface elements. I also plan to continue improving performance, stability, compatibility, and overall reliability.
All information, source code, recommendations, and installation instructions are available here on Github: https://github.com/ragnarok179/FrameGenNG
The latest release can be downloaded here: https://github.com/ragnarok179/FrameGenNG/releases
Note that you will only be able to see the FPS that FrameGenNG adds using the "alt+r" shortcut in the Nvidia App.
If you try it, feel free to share your GPU and the performance gains you get from the mod. I’d love to hear your feedback and ideas for future improvements!

I got quite a few suggestions yesterday for improving the sense of speed in BeamNG.
For now, I went with the simplest one: driving on a narrower road. And it really does feel different! I'll be trying out the other suggestions as well, but on narrower roads, I don't think I even need to change any settings 😅
Thanks again!
