Hello I am running into this boot issue with newly installed bazzite. I am a first timer and this issues pops up Everytime I boot up. If anyone can help me or knows what to do I would greatly appreciate it.

I recently installed bazzite on my ayaneo 2 and for whatever reason I keep getting super inaccurate battery readings, in less then 5 minutes my battery jumped from 99% down to 0% then to 37% then back to full and so on and so forth, it keeps doing this and I'm not sure if either I'm doing something wrong or worst case my battery is fried, is there anything I can do on my end to stop this from happening ? or anything I can do to check the overall battery health ?

Hi all. I'm running CachyOS since last week and I haven't had that many issues tbh but the general consensus is that Arch based distros can break more easily and that makes me a bit uneasy or anxious. I'm not against troubleshooting but i don't enjoy fixing shit that worked the day before. So i'm thinking of jumping ship. Is there something i'm overlooking that i will be missing on Bazzite?

Reading about it, I will probably have to deal with flatpaks, appimages but I don't know if that's a bad thing. I have the option to do pacman containerised via distrobox if i want to get back into that?

My main goals are learning about linux (in general), a lot of gaming, coding/learning about python (but mostly for enjoyment) and learning about/running local LLMs.

Running a 5800X3d, 9070 XT, 32gigs

tldr: what am I missing about the immutable concept of bazzite compared to cachyos

I'm not new to Linux, and I genuinely want to leave Windows for good. I'm a gamer first, but I use this PC for everything.

The problem is I can never make it stick. Something always breaks, usually NVIDIA drivers on my RTX 4060, and I end up crawling back to Windows because I need a machine that works.

How do you stay on Linux when things go wrong? Any tips for making the switch permanent, and has anyone gaming on Bazzite with an NVIDIA card had a smooth experience? (I am not looking at dual booting)

And I assume appimages are still supported?

Is there any way to re add this feature to the newest version of Bazzite? Thanks in advance.

So i was trying to enable Gapps on waydroid but didnt finish the process and now waydroid doesnt star, i want to now if i can reinstall it somehow please help if you know anything or if you have the same issue

When I try to open it, nothing happens. It appears on the taskbar for a couple seconds, then closes. I have an Nvidia GPU and read that this could be a possible reason for this problem. I was trying to download a new browser and I had to do it through an application called Warehouse instead.

I posted 2 days ago about how having bazzite destroyed my gaming and programming experience. After almost a whole week where I only tried making it work and literally nothing else, I came to the conclusion that bazzite is the worst OS there could be. Lutris is not letting me log in, Wine is not opening, everytime i copy the path of a folder and paste it somewhere else, it says it does not exist. I play a lot of Terraria and for the first time ever I have bugs that don't even let me enter my world. Never in my life I knew it is possible to wait so much time with "Processing Vulkan Shaders" for literally nothing when starting a steam game. I posted my specs in the last post. Call me an idiot or whatever but as it is now, bazzite for me is only a fucking mistake that does not deserve to be called an operating system at all. Everybody just says "install the most basic shit that pops up when you boot the os" like wtf man... I'm even starting to believe people don't even know what they're doing on bazzite but they have compatible hardware from the start and lie to everyone that this is a legit operating system

Edit: I forgot to mention, how the fuck can you make an operating system where you can't even change the DPI of the mouse?

I play often, but also use my lapotop pc for personal and evryday use. I got a Canon i-Sensys MF4410. It's already difficult to make the Windows support the printer with the drivers. Scanning is relatively easy as u gotta use the software which is downloaded together with the usb-connection driver. But I occasionally print things, thus the wonder. Thank you.

Do not forget to run all the commands described in the releases page, even after reboot, otherwise your Turbo Light won't come up! 😄

This is just a repackage of the drivers for the Bazzite kernel, I have no knowledge of the driver itself so please don't create issues about it if you have a prolem with your laptop! Thank you! 😄

So, I want to change my home folder name. I found out that you cannot change it, but you can create a new user and use that instead. I created a new user but now I have to transfer all my files (including game data) on the new one, as well as change all the settings I've already changed on the main user. Is there a fast way to do any of that? Big linux noob here so please go easy on me 😅

As the title says. About once per day lately when I close a game/app in Game Mode the screen freezes up and I have to hold the power button down to do a hard shut down, otherwise it will just stay like that.

Anybody else having this issue, or just me? Of note, this is running on a Legion Go 2 (Z2E).

First, the backstory.

So last night I attempted to run the Bazzite Updater on my desktop and the whole thing just wouldn't boot past the ostree, Bazzite:0. Fans would run wild, lights would be on but nothing. Screens would even turn off. It would boot just fine when I reboot and go into Bazzite:1.

So I'm trying to figure out what could be causing the new update to just absolutely break and I asked the discord already, and right now they're leaning on a potential hardware conflict with the newest update and should wait for the next update and try again.

My worry is that if I wait for the next update and it doesn't work the working Bazzite:1 image would be overwritten by the new broken Bazzite:0 image which would leave me in a bind so I'm trying to at least narrow down the potential issues and one thing I want to get rid of is my virtual DP-3 display that I set up to use with Sunshine but never ended up using.

The problem is, I have no idea how I set that up months ago and I can't seem to figure out a way to completely delete it. I can disable it yeah but to avoid complications I'm trying to just completely remove it.

I heard that lenovo stopped or discontinued driver support meanwhile the Xbox Ally received plenty that gave it better performance, does bazzite have optimizations that help it perform evenly with the Xbox Ally or is the performance the same as windows?

Hi, hoping to get some input from those on Bazzite: have you been able to get into a Helldivers 2 match and have it be stable since the move to EAC?

Prior to the changeover the game was rock solid for me on Bazzite but now I'm getting constant crashes. Have tried everything on Arrowhead's FAQ to stop EAC instability with no luck.

Have tried:

Uninstalling and Reinstalling

Confirmed it's using Proton experimental

Deleting all files in the /bin and /data directories under the game path by hand and re-verifying files

Nothing has helped.

Wondering at this point whether it's something to do with EAC not liking the OS but the devs state that Linux compatibility should not be affected.

Anyone out there running Bazzite and still able to play HD2 without constant crashes?

Edit: I had tried Proton Experimental but I didn't realise that and "Bleeding Edge" are not the same. Have to list Tools in Steam instead of games, open properties of Proton Experimental, go to Betas and set it to "Bleeding Edge" that way to actually use it.

After setting that I managed to run a short mission from beginning to end where previously it was crashing within a couple of minutes of starting.

Been debating for a while but finally made my mind.

I have an old laptop and want to get away from windows.

My set up is an old alienware:

Intel i5-4200m 2.50ghz

8 GB of ram

Nvidia GT 750M

And 600 GB of storage

I downloaded bazzite but unfortunately the installer said my set up is unsupported. Anyway to change to or maybe look into a Linux that is better suited for me?

I've already searched the sub and I'm about to search some more, but I'm also trying to cook dinner and keep cleaning and I'm disabled so the cooking and cleaning is causing a ton of pain. If anyone has the solution to save me some energy so I can go to bed sooner I'd be really grateful.

Went to update Bazzite since I haven't done an update since the start of October and it returned this error about terra-source? Idk what that is. I'm assuming the bad signature part is about security measures or something. How do I fix it or remove the source of the issue?
