This mission has tested my patience, one I thought I'd never be so frustrated at lol.

What happened:

• Tried rushing Wolf in the north, didn't work for me.
• Tried rushing the Dragon in the south, same result.
• I ought to just build my base on the Serpentholm plateau, and it gave me a bit of room to sort things out.

What I noticed is that around 8-10 minutes (I think) into the game when I already have a few buildings on the plateau, Shinja and co. came in. I honestly thought it would be much later.

Key points:

• Peasant Hut on the rice was attacked at first. Luckily I stacked up enough rice to build another hut still on that same spot. I had to wait for some Dragon soldiers there to leave that little location.
• I noticed in BR, the enemy will attack you aggressively at first, but once you have survived for longer, it'll lessen. I think their AI has detected I only have a base on the plateau and never bothered to wander around to find my Peasant Hut and Keep.
• I put all units around the Watchtowers on N hotkey so that they'll never leave their place. Fan Geisha on towers and Musketeers with Sniper Scope.

This was the only way I could get through this mission lol. Rushing ain't it for me.

This might be nearly as hard as the final mission in the Dragon Path.

I'm playing Dragon with 2 AI allies. I'm fighting against Serpent and Lotus (5 Hard AI) in a Seprentholm skirmish map. The AI is so damn hard. I like it though -- gives the feels of a protrscted war. I'm at a stalemate with them because I did not expect they would stick so close together to form their base -- so basically I'm fighting a fortified army instead of separate ones. What strategy would you do if AI behaves like this?

One of my AI allies are defeated and I'm down to 2k kills lol and there's still no end in sight.

As we all know, most Zen Masters of BR have unique names except for few who have nicknames or titles instead of names, which are: Grayback, Longtooth, The Shale Lord, Wildeye, The Necromancer..

What do you think their "real" names would be?

Old player here and just thought to do the achievements from steam and been trying on the one seat journey without saving.

Now yesterday, when i got to mission 7 (saving gaihla from soban's lab) the game crashed like before the story even started where grayback and wildeye split, the game crashed. At first i thought it was probably on my side since windows security was enabled and i had to fix that. So after testing and few trials i thought its good.

But today, like yesterday, before the mission 7 could even progress, it crashed again.

Anybody else experiencing this or have any solution for this?

Background, my ass gets handed to me when my dragon opponent has a whole army mounted on horses they just spam trample and my army is turned into paste and they win. I know lotus has the diseased ones scream what can I do as wolf

So essentially, the Serpent Bandit becamr less viable ad a frontline unit because of its low hp and resistances...but had significant buffs on its damage and speed.

the brawler got beefier (healthwise) but had its resistances also reduced (not to point they became vulnerable except for explosives).

Mauler seems to also recieved the same treatment that the bandit got.

So what is the point of this lotus clan building?

I just bought Battle Realms that my dad has played before. I tried playing against Nightvol AI and it decimated me all the time as Serpent Clan.

What is the best army composition as serpent clan that is not too micromanaging?

I manage to recruit Koril (teleports above the mine beside Otomo's grave), Issyl and Soban (freed them from prisons). But it's not really permanent because they won't appear in the Keep. Once they die, they're gone.

what did you do on mission 6 when graybacks on ice.. and need to protect gaihla..

zen masters, being the heroes of the game, must a universal buff that reduces all received damage types by 33% on top of their innate resistances to make them feel impactful. and also add more passives for other zen heroes (teppo etc).

I played this when I was very young but didn't get to finish it at all, only few missions through. But I recently just completed it! And boy, I got lots of things to say...

• Really great storytelling! From the dialogue, to the voice acting, I got really into the storyline. I'd watch a TV/film adaptation of this.
• Kenji is also very nice and kind. Such an ideal hero/protagonist. Makes using/fighting as him so inspirational. I adore that little animation of him doing some swordsmanship display when he's idle, and then he politely bows afterwards.
• Poor Otomo. Really made me emotional when I saw his tombstone with sword, food/offerings, and those cherry blossoms falling around it. Such a nice touch.
• The Lotus clan -- always a pain in the *ss. I complained about this in an earlier post of mine, lmao. And I thought the Wolf army from Swan's Pool was gonna be the end of me lol (that's why as a kid I never played Kenji's Journey again cause of that mission, I kept losing).
• Great penultimate and ultimate missions! Makes all the headache and countless of saves from the difficulty so worth it! Dragon struggles against Lotus, but the challenge made it all more satisfying to complete despite my frustratons, haha.
• KENJI WITH DRAGON SPIRIT FORM. That's it. 'Nuff said.
• EPIC finale. What an incredible campaign! All hail, Lord Dragon!

I loved everything about this campaign! Ed and the Battle Realms team did such an incredible job! Dragon is growing on me to be my favorite clan.

I'm wondering, is this the canon ending? I know there's also the Serpent path where you side with the bandits, but the epicness of this ending seems to me as very substantial and essentially canon-like.

Estoy haciendo la ruta de la serpiente y estoy atascado, tengo que enfrentarme con los LOBOS y los DRAGONES, y no puedo con los 2, porque no se como funciona el sistema de counter, la verdad nose como llegue tan lejos en la campaña, pero me frustra no saber que hacer, o como preparar un ejercicito para rushear

In Winter of the Wolf I think Kabukis, Archers and Samurais are kind of core for Dragon with Kegs and/or Chemists for destroying buildings. Thank God for the Dragon Spirit and Garrin Changes (the latter costs 1 Yang now compared to 2 back then). For Serpent Swordsmen, Musketeers, and Cannoneers were core (IIRC) but now Ronins are buffed with resists and poison in their kit but I really don't know the extent of their strength now. Just wanna ask Dragon and Serpent players here since these two are my main clans.

Honestly, I don't really need a Battle Realms 2 with an entire overhaul. What I really wanted back then right from the beginning was a Lotus campaign, just like many players do.

However, I'd like it to be in the same graphics as the 2001-02 Battle Realms (cause I'm too fond and attached to it lol) and only serving as an expansion exactly like Winter of the Wolf. Then simply call it, "Battle Realms: Lair of the Lotus"

That's it. Would that be hard/expensive to be made at all?

Then again after so many years, I'm gutted that nothing has ever come out. It's been so long. I'm glad that I have recently remembered this game.

How do i fix the lag when playing with other people? what i experience is 15 mins smooth gameplay but after that mark everything goes wrong

I just played Battle Realms for the first time after many many years.

I'm shook at how crazy the difference is in their early and late stages. They're so slow and vulnerable at the beginning it's almost pitiful to ravage through them, but insanely strong when they've had their entire army and buildings formed. It's so intimidating.

I don't remember them being this OP at all, lol. Or am I just overwhelmed?

Those Lotus watchtowers (with Unclean and Warlock) are the bane of my existence.
