VFF Shrinking Vibrams, Possible?

Post image

I got these older models of Vibram Five Fingers for my collection and bought them at size men’s EU43.

I usually get 42s but have been having some slight issues where over time they’d feel a bit tight but manageable. I switched to 43 and got these fellas. Problem is they’re a bit bigger than I expected and it’s probably because sizing was different years ago so I’d probably fit the 41 or 42 version of these. I don’t have too much problems but was wondering for better fit.
Is there a way to non destructively shorten them? I just have space behind my heel. Tightening the cinch helps but was wondering if anyone has faced the same.

Not sure about shrinking. But you could get toe socks or heel grips to fill em out

Definitely worth a try

I've found that I need larger sizes in the newer models, so this makes sense. Like others suggested, is suggest just trying socks.

Dont try shrinking them. The fabric will detach from the sole. I shrunk some on accident once

I have the same ones 2 pairs bc i love them in size 42 and they have gotten tighter on my right foot. I. Assuming my foot has gotten wider or longer 🤔  but now im a 43 in vff

I bought a good bunch of Vibrams at 41 then I guess my body said “screw you” then I had to switch to 42. I loved many of them especially my V-Alphas.

Had a similar situation, ended up using toesocks with half of a regular wool sock (cut off the tip) on top and got a perfect fit out of it. Was a winter model anyway, so it all worked out well, but required some needle work to keep everything in place. The things we do to avoid having to change to a new shoe when we found a model we like but can't find it in the correct size anymore... My feet are healthy, but sometimes I have some doubts about my head.
