I think we needed Taskin bro. Maybe, they wanted to give Nayeem Hasan another chance he deserves. Also, you cannot bench taijul when it's mirpur. That's what I feel after the Afghanistan test. We need 3 pacers.

Many people(not me) across the globe think Indian batters as IPL Performers or flat pitch bully only but look at their performance in NZ. Pitch has something to offer if you bowl at the right places whether you are spinner or a pacer.

These flat track bullies started to translate their IPL performance across conditions. They did well in Japan too. You can't simply deny how power hitting is the most necessary thing for white ball cricket.

Bangladesh had the chance last year to give Julian wood a long term contract but they picked deshi inexperienced coach like Ashraful and ruined the tiny bit of chance we had left for the 2027 WC performance. A misery lies ahead despite the generational bowling line up.

If we don't move forward with white ball requirement, we will lose our international position very soon. High time to think deeply about our plan of action going forward in T20 and ODI. Especially the ODI format which I believe fans like the most.

Yes, we are doing well in tests but our batting is still very shaky there.

Do you think we can still fix our batting loopholes and come together as a team for 2027 ODI WC?

Kinda off topic to speak about ODI and T20 when WTC test game starts tomorrow but I wanna see BCB focusing more in white ball formats. We need to stop playing hide and seek with the formats to save our skin. You can't get away making excuses like we are doing better in the test so we will focus on that and disregard other formats.

Question regarding the draft of this D3 cup

So i got a video recommendation on youtube which was broadcasting the auction/draft live. After watching this and looking up a news article, it raised a question in me.

First, lets be clear about the rules. Max 23 players will be picked by each team, for 3 formats overall(t20 this december, odi and first class next year). The caveat is that the squad is fixed for all these tournaments.

Now suppose Player named ক got into team A through auction, who is a very good t20 player. But for first class he is not that good compared to his team mates or other players in the squad, its almost sure he will be benched in normal circumstances. On the other hand, say Team B needs a player like his profile because of squad mismanagement or form related issues etc. so in this team ক will walk into the starting xi in first class tournament. So in this case, do ক need to spend the whole first class season on bench instead? Or is there any mid season transfer window in between before the tournaments? At least I havent found anything like this.

In this case, if ক is an uprising player, isnt this all in one system harmful for his carrer?🤔

Team News / দলের খবর Hashim Amla joining Bangladesh team as batting consultant ahead of SA tour.

Post image
84 Upvotes

According to some media reports, Hashim amla will join the Bangladesh team as Batting consultant for the South Africa tour.

We still donno if it’s temporary or he will join for a long term contract.

I personally loved the rapid change of reliving Ashraful and finding a replacement for now. Yes. Nothing much may change in the short term but our players atleast will learn to play 50 ovrs in ODi and long innings in tests.

His resilience and technical standing position for batting outclassed many great bowlers. I'd love to see if he can pass it to our batters.

On a side note, we should have two batting coaches. One for test & odi such as amla. And one for T20 who will teach and come with a power hitting background. You can't ignore T20 especially when ODI is also moving towards power hitting.

If you watch that video, you will understand how seriously Pakistan cricket board is taking their age level facilities to next phase. They are trying to provide all the resources to their under age players which we are only providing to our national level players. This is def a PR video bcz akif javed and naqvi is criticized heavily by their ex-players and cricket followers. But you can definitely see they are making changes making progress and improving their cricket academy ecosystem.

We have cricket Academy as well but they are not as much resourceful at all. We need to learn from different cricket academic available around the world and see what they are doing and what we are lacking to improve our facilities as well.

Tamim is planning to build excellence center and that is going to take a couple of more years to build and it will be for national level players and top domestic players I assume. Age level players will miss out on that.

Few ideas I liked from the video and think Bangladesh should also adopt -

  1. Cricket coaching level 1 complete for players. No, they will not coach anyone. They will understand how to think like a coach on field. Their mindset will be more analytic on the field. So suppose, A batter is showing bad basic while playing a bowler, the captain or the Baller will be able to figure out where to ball to take advantage of that bad technic of batter more smartly, and quickly. And such stuff.
  2. Early learning and practice: If a player understand his diet, rehab process, his biomechanics early in his career he will also know how to take care of himself. I know this is already in process for Bangla players in age level but we need to ensure its not just coach who understand players diet, biomechanics but the player itself does.
  3. Using more analysis and tracking devices on age level players. This is so important and we are far behind most teams in that. India use tracking devices even on international games. Recent Aus vs SA games showed us players work rate numbers. We need to understand who has more impact on the game, energy while playing the game, their reaction time for a catch, short, fielding and etc.

I liked the other ideas as well but let's not glaze any further. I'm making this post also bcz these improvement clearly working for Pakistan. They humiliated eng u19 in eng while scored 350 and high scoring runs.

BCB has money, BCB finally investing in domestic structure. but it's on some areas so far. We need to invest in all areas, expand our vision and look for rapid changes. It is high time, we are already a decade behind top teams.

Discussion/ আলোচনা Some unknown sri lankan batters chases down 430! I repeat 430!!!

Post image
39 Upvotes

They lost two wickets early and still went to chase down 430 against England. Pavan Rathnayake has played only 9 ODIs before this. He scored 130 runs! Kusal mendis did a duck who is their prime batter. Can you imagine what Sri Lanka pulled off today? second highest score chase down by any team in ODIs.

It was not just muscle power that helped them to chase it down. It was calculative shorts playing. A very good planning by Gary casting, a good execution by the batters on the field.

We seriously need to remove those crap coaches and players from the team and give chances whoever consistently improve their batting, make skill training permanent.

BCB NEEDS TO completely revamp coaching panel. REMOVE SIMMONS and bring someone who is more technical with planning. Remove Ashraful for @-ss coaching ever. I tell you, he knows nothing at all about coaching, drilling, fixing players problem with batting, remove all the hp clowns including salauddin. A complete revamp with highly experienced coaches needed who will work with our players 1v1 to improve their skills. Afghanistan batting coach used to teach lara and such legends. and who we got as our batting coach? A international failed batter without any coaching experience of top level.

We are so slow to make changes, all the test playing nations white ball performance has become better than us par Ireland. We might even lose against Ireland on a batting surface.

How come Phil Simmons doesnt get that much heat from media after each loss or receive flowers after an important win?

First I want to clarify, i hate these type of drama where journalists like noman, riasat azim just spams contents with toxicity to gain views, certain news channels and pages does it too. But if you see from 2015 to up until say at least 2022, head coach of Bangladesh cricket team was always a hotcake for discussion after each series or squad change, player exclusion or inclusion etc. I follow cricket from 2015, from that time Hathurusingha looked like a celebrity for this phenomenon, every people who followed cricket knew his name like every other player in the team. His sacking and behind the scene drama was a popular public discussion matter too. Same goes for Steve Rhodes, he was constantly in news for the 2019 wc’s massive failure. Russel Domingo was memed to the highest extent in social media and during his final days of the tenure, i would see news about him and his relation with Panchapandob everytime i was in social media. Compared to that, Hathurusingha’s 2nd stint was much quieter, and Phil Simmons tenure looks like he is in background. I think we saw more discussions and dramas about batting coach, assistant coach than him. So I am interested to know how come whats the result, he doesnt face any scrutiny from media and public? Is this because the Panchapandab is no more so there is no news of friction inside team cause of seniority? Or Phil Simmons simply doesnt fuel into these dramas so they simply dont explode. Or is he that inactive that there is nothing to make news on? Or the board is strict about the privacy and the negative publicity than before?

Under 19/ অনূর্ধ্ব ১৯ ATLEAST THE U19 TEAM KNOWS A BIT ABOUT CHASING

Post image
24 Upvotes

Bangladesh under 19 team has drawn their second game against Afghanistan after winning the first one comfortably. it's a nail biting end of an exciting game after a big score by the Afghanistan team.

While the national team players are struggling to chase down any score above 250, the under 19 boys are showing much more understanding in terms of Chasing down a big total. they almost chased down the target of 305.

They continued scoring runs despite losing wickets from time to time. Jerif, Muhi, Mumin, Rony & Rubay at the end saves the day. Remind you, this is not even a full strength team of Bangladesh. They are playing without regular captain + dependable middle order batter Foysal & 17 yo star pacer Rahim who is out due to injury.

Hannan sarkar checking out his pipeline players.

Domestic Cricket/ ঘরোয়া ক্রিকেট Lahore Qalander owners interested to contribute in BPL.

Post image

Heard, Kingsman interested too. There is enough interest from existing and new brands to participate in BPL. Selling teams is not a concern I believe.

BPL Committee needs to ensure there is no monkey business going on by the team staff and everyone associated with the game. Upcoming domestic t20 league can be used as mock for bpl management. Irregularities of payment, drs, player availability, venues, batting wicket are some major concerns. If we can ensure to handle such things more professionally, atleast the game will revive. BCB can compensate any losses if occur down the road only when BPL produce few batters for us.

International Cricket/ আন্তর্জাতিক ক্রিকেট ALL THE BLUNDERS WE DID TO LOSE TODAY'S GAME!

Just a tldr for the folks who didn't follow the game -

  1. Not picking alis over rishad despite rishad's bad performance and alis coming with x factor
  2. Two same type of bowler (shoriful & fizz) which allowed easy punish right after powerplay.
  3. Not picking hasan mahmud who can swing the ball. tasking got 3 wickets with early swing and bounce
  4. No miraz factor. some says he is injured but no idea if it's true. he was responsible to keep middle overs tights. soikot and rishad gave plenty in his place, their bowling is sole reason of 150 runs long and quick partnership. look at zim who took masakadza, a spinner with 43 avg just more than 1wk per match, they knows the importance of economic bowling.
  5. Ridoy needed to continue atleast one pacer from one side. it was really easy for taylor, and evan to play spin.
  6. One stumping, two catch, one run out, and one out was undone by the team. fielding getting worse and worst.
  7. Losing toss and batting second under light while chasing 272 is something bangladesh daydreams to achieve.

basically we lost when we didn't use our squad depth and poor bowling setup. Will not blame batter for this time bcz zim also struggled under lights since 32nd over.

Look at the playing xi

Bangladesh: Towhid Hridoy (c), Nurul Hasan (wk), Mustafizur Rahman, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Taskin Ahmed, Soumya Sarkar, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mosaddek Hossain, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Rishad Hossain, Shoriful Islam

Was there any reason to pick mustafiz when you are picking shoriful? two left arm slower bowler. Hasan mahmud wooble seam would've been more effective for mid and death overs or even saifudding. none of them picked.

We all thought Alis is debuting but ofc our chicken guy will not give him chance when it matters. Same done in asian games.

Batting second is difficult as per stats, you needed surprise element of alis for low score chase. but he is not there. All might depend on the 7 batters.

ps. liton is out due injury.

Edit: Miraz Isn't picked, saif playing instead. Cricinfo made a fool out of me

Team News / দলের খবর BANGLADESH VS ZIMBABWE STARTING 11

As'salamualaikum, everyone.

  1. Tanzid Hasan Tamim

  2. Soumya Sarkar

  3. Najmul Hossain Shanto

  4. Litton Kumer Das (C) [WK]

  5. Towhid Hridoy (VC)

  6. Mosaddek Hossain Saikat

  7. Tanvir Islam

  8. Taskin Ahmed

  9. Hasan Mahmud

  10. Shoriful Islam

  11. Aliss Al Islam (Debut)

Notes :-

  1. I absolutely disgust this Tanvir Islam. He only knows how to ball in Slow and Turning Conditions as well Low and Slow Wickets. He doesn't know how to ball in any other conditions other than those mentioned above. But, eitherway, since he is there in the 16 Man Squad, we still need him. Keeping in mind, in the previous 2025 Bangladesh vs Afghanistan ODI Series in UAE, he was OKAY, again, not bad not good. But i only want RAKIBUL HASAN as our MAIN 1ST CHOICE Slow Left Arm Orthodox Bowler. He is very good, upto this day, he hasn't been able to break into the National Team Setup, except ofcourse the 3 T20i's played at 2022 Asian Games. Also, if you have him, you can expect some very very valuable LOWER ORDER RUNS from him. Keeping in mind, he is not a proper Out and Out Allrounder or even a Spin Bowling Allrounder, he can just provide some runs. He should've already been prepared by now for the 2027 ODI CWC. Also, let's not forget, he won the 2020 ICC U19 World Cup at South Africa.

  2. I don't want to see Saif Hasan at all as the Backup Opener. Saif's best friend Mohammad Naim Sheikh is A LOT BETTER than him. Naim looks more mature than ever. Especially in the 50 over format, which is his MAIN FORMAT. He developed an approach in the 50 over format, he bats with a PROPER MINDSET, unlike before, where he NEVER LOOKED READY FOR INTERNATIONAL CRICKET.

  3. Ofcourse, who even wants this Nurul Hasan Sohan perhaps anywhere even near the National Team, be it ODI's or T20i's. Parvez Hossain Emon should be there as the 2nd Choice Backup Wicketkeeper Batsmen. I know everyone might think his Wicketkeeping is not upto the mark and all. But, if the Team Management takes him as the 2nd Choice Backup Wicketkeeper, he will do good. Emon is very INCONSISTENT, no doubt at all, but that is regarding T20 Cricket. Even Emon's MAIN FORMAT is 50 Overs. Man, I really want Parvez Hossain Emon so badly in our ODI Squad. Not to forget, HE IS VERY VERSATILE, can bat anywhere, can Open, at 3, 4 and even 5. The Team Management will not even consider him. They are wasting him. Atleast take Jaker Ali Anik in place of this Sohan.

  4. AND FINALLY, FINALLY, FINALLY, FINALLY, FINALLY. No MEHIDY HASAN MIRAZ in the STARTING 11. Let's talk about the match against Zimbabwe, it's just 3 Left Handed Batsmen, Ben Curran, Craig Ervine, by the way, who is an excellent Spin Player and Ryan Burl who is also a Spin Basher. It's should be like this at the Number 6 FINISHER Role, Mosaddek Hossain Saikat or Mehidy Hasan Miraz. Not Saikat at 6 and Miraz at 7. They say Miraz is an Allrounder, his only Bowling is OKAY, not even that good, when does he even provide with the Bat. Better than that play with 6 Batters and 5 Bowlers. I don't want this Miraz to even be anywhere near the ODI Setup. Saikat's bowling is enough for the Left Handed Batsmens in the Middle Overs. There is a lack of GENUINE ALLROUNDERS in Bangladesh's White Ball Setup. We don't have the LUXURY to go with an extra Batsmen or Bowler. Better than that stick to 6 Batters and 5 Bowlers.

  5. It's very important to give Aliss Al Islam the ODI DEBUT. In our Spin Attack, there is no SORT OF MYSTERY. Like we have Nahid Rana in our Pace Attack like that we have Aliss in our Spin Attack.

  6. Rishad on the other hand, see I really want Rishad to be in our 15 Man Squad, but in Asia, his Bowling is not at all upto the mark. But, keeping in mind for the 2027 ODI CWC in South Africa, HE AND ALISS, " ABSOLUTE GAME CHANGERS". In South African pitches, Insha'allah, he will do very

  7. In this Reddit, here only, I saw someone write something about Shoriful. The Team Management doesn't trust in Shoriful, bthey think he is not good enough and all. I will be blunt, Shoriful deserves to START EVERY WHITE BALL MATCH. He deserves to start ahead of Mustafizur Rahman in ODI's. In T20i's they both can play. As Syed Abid Hussein "Sami" bhai said, " When a Pacer is in Full Rhythm and Form, he should be made played each and every match."

We still dont have a solid opening pair for the 2027 cwc

Who do you think we can rely on as our openers for the 2027 cwc? do we continue to test saif until he clicks? imo saif is not suited for odi and i would rather have soumya or naim alongside tamim. if you watch the bangladesh a series against south africa then i think it becomes quite obvious that between saif and naim . naim is the better odi batter

Aus Women win the third ODI by 8 wickets and whitewash Ban 3-0

This was our first tour to Australia so I get that we shouldn't be too harsh but our batters are very inconsistent. Shobhana performs in one game and then goes back to tuk tuking in the very next match. Openers failed in every game and the middle order is very slow. 25/3 after the Powerplay is simply not acceptable. Shorna did well today. Her 54 off 71 was a very good innings given she came in at 48-4 and I still think we need to push her up the order to give us more momentum at the top. She can definitely strike at a better rate than Joty, Supta or any of our openers and she needs to come in where she can face more balls and doesn't have the fear of losing her wicket. I would say we should try her at 3 for at least a full series. Some other positives from today: the ground fielding was really good especially from Rabeya and the debutant Disha Biswas started her spell really well with a wicket maiden.

The reason behind our loss

What I believe, we needed Taskin in mid overs. He has always been the one to pick up crucial wickets in mid overs when batter gets settled along with the help from either spinners. We really needed Taskin. Additionally, the spinners we have are somewhat boring spinners. No unorthodox bowling.

Catches win matches. If Hasan had taken that catch or Nayeem got the run out the result would have been different. Also, I don't know why day 5 pitch offered no special turn. Not a pitch expert but still surprising. Nothing to take from Afghanistan even with the lucks they had. They fought well.

Discussion/ আলোচনা I'd have loved if we didn't lost our cool in the last hour.

In all these chaos, Bangladesh should've remain calm. To be exact, in the last 10 minutes when qais was acting of cramp, and all other activities to stall the time. there was no need to react when you know you are past the golden time of taking wickets and blundered plenty. The world is watching, they can def see their acting and let the cricket fans to react on it. you don't need to lose your cool, and should understand how much effort they put for this draw and will do every effort to ensure it is secured.

Bangladesh tried, played good 5 days of cricket and that's the consistency we need to keep going. There will be plenty of matches like this where we might not able to gauge out results still what team needs to show is characters and make sure not to lose calm composure during the game. It will be a sign of big team then.
