Early in the morning, the sun hasn't hit it. It's why when people say they want to go at sunrise it's surprising because you won't get the blue colour till midday, even on cloudy days it's pretty blue.

Towards the winter, all glacial lakes will lose the turquoise colour and become clear so you can see the bottom.
