Our little guy had already been given up twice before he found his way to us. π
We already had pets at home, and when we heard his story, my partner and I thought, βWell, whatβs one more little troublemaker?β πβ€οΈ
Weβve both always loved cats, and honestly, we just wanted to give him something he hadnβt really had before β a home he would never have to leave again.
Now heβs part of our little family, and itβs hard to imagine life without him.
He may have been given up on twice, but there wonβt be a third time. Not on our watch. π₯ΉπΎ
Iβm curious, whatβs the story behind your cat? Did you choose them, or did they somehow choose you? β€οΈ

She started her life in the US, then came with us to China. When we moved to Australia, getting her here from China was a long process: she had to stay with a carer in Japan for six months, then spend 14 days in quarantine in Melbourne.
Sheβs 14 now, and somehow still looks like she knows a secret we donβt.
Seeing her safe, comfortable and healthy after all those flights, goodbyes and waiting makes every bit of it worth it. β€οΈ

Got him a Meow-na Lisa scratcher, but heβs skipped the scratching and gone straight for a cuddle. Canβt blame him β she does look very huggable.

Is there a quiet gathering of DogsVic members anywhere in here, please?
Thank you.

He has perfectly good beds, but this beat-up box is clearly the favourite. Caught him tucked inside having a little paw wash. Five-star accommodation, apparently.

I call this one Bix
Little dude has gone through splayed legs and being plucked, both issues caught early and resolved but for some reason this one remained small, unlike his siblings. Bush budgies are small but this one is a clear runt. Healthy though, only just on 4 weeks old and already trying to explore the world!

I am a 21 year old student living in Campbelltown NSW. When I moved in alone to start my studies, I found that living alone was a bigger problem than I thought. So I decided to look for a pet, a pet that would be very easy to maintain since I have heavy study load. And a pet that would be affordable to start and maintain.
A dog is a no go, very hard to maintain. A feline of any kind would trigger my allergies so that would be a bad choice. Most birds are noisy and wonβt be able to put it in a closed apartment. Thought of a pair of rats but still have no idea if Iβm allergic or not but itβs actually not a bad idea, so until I find out, Iβll consider it.
I was thinking a reptile: Bearded dragon, childrenβs python, or blue tongue. I havenβt found a fixed price to start so I donβt know how affordable it could go to own and maintain.
However, a new problem that is pretty much what is holding me from getting a pet at all. Every year, I will be out of home from late October till February. This made me try to do some research about pet care and how expensive it could go. I could not find anything guaranteed or even anything that made sense to me.
I would appreciate any guidance!!!

It belongs to a friend, had it in storage for them until they were ready to collect it.
Marni ignored it once she had a sniff.
