Question New shoe in addition to Evo SL in rotation.

Hey, I am looking for a show to complement my EVO SL in a two shoe rotation.

Till now I have majorly trained in my Evo SLs and have recently completed my first half marathon (02:40:35).

I've completed 800km in my Evos and I've been using Ultraboost 5 sometimes (about 100k in them). Love the EVO SLs and am thinking of buying another pair to replace my old ones. However whenever I do a slightly long run in the Ultraboosts (more than 10k) I get slight ankle and knee pain. So I am looking for a shoe to use instead of them in a two shoe rotation. I also have a Supernova Ease 2 which I got for regular use but can add to my running rotation if it is appropriate.

I am a relatively slow runner so I don't think I need a carbon plated shoe (yet).

Please suggest which shoe should I get.

Question Overpronators, any luck with non-stability shoe?

I am quite a severe overpronator and have worn stability shoes for most of the two years I have been running.

When I was running without stability shoes to begin with, I had quite a lot of ankle pain. It never affected my running but would be sore afterwards. Once I started wearing stability shoes this almost went away.

That being said, I find the range of stability shoes not exciting at all. There really aren’t any speed/race shoes available with stability elements.

I have however had a pair of Saucony Endorphin Speed 5s which I really like. If I run more than 10km in them though I still get the ankle pain.

I bought these are research suggested they were an option as the most stable “fast shoe”.

Are there any other shoes that could work? Ideally i’d be looking for something to run a marathon in and i’d like to try new shoes.

Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Question Help me pick the best shoes for comfortable all day wear, long walks and standing?

Hii people!

I was looking to buy a good comfy pair of shoes cuz my current puma frequence softrides don't do much for my heel pain and a very mild flat foot.

I want a shoe that'd be comfortable to wear everyday to complete my 15k steps and wear on a daily basis to office etc.

I'm confused among these options:

Asics GT 2000 15

Asics Gel kayano 32

Asics nimbus 27/28

Nike structure 26

Nike vomero 18

Can you pls suggest me the best pick out of these for my particular use cases based on your experiences or knowledge?

Thanks a ton!

Question Beginner runner here. Is my shoe rotation good?

43m, 171cm(5’7”), about 68kg.

I’ve been running a little over a month now and I’m loving every minute of it.

It’s really too bad that I work 6 days a week, and have two toddlers at home.

So my runs are never more than an hour, usually less than 40 mins. I run 4 times a week, and so far only 5km at a time due to time constraints.

I try to run to work and run back home. But that’s only like 3km combined.

Right now I have:

  1. Triumph 22 for everyday walking and running back and forth work.
  2. Novablast 6 for when I actually get out running.
  3. Endorphin speed 5 that I just got yesterday.

I’m thinking if rotating NB6 and ES5 for my runs. Is that alright? Or are they too different?

I have persistent Archilles tendonitis and Plantar fasciitis for the past ten years or more. High arch, but I think I over pronate.

Question What’s the closest I can get to MEGABLAST / HYPERBOOST Edge ?

I tried the HYPERBOOST EDGE out today for 4 miles at 8:30 pace today and man did that foam feel heavenly. But MAN did my pinky toe and heel start to take a beating.

Similar to Megablast, the foam is awesome but upper is meh. I think id take the adidas in a long run tho over mb

I ended up cleaning them and returning them. But I’m debating if i take the chance on them now. I mean i grew up wearing vans authentics and cleats from sports and eventually my feet callused and i could wear vans all day long.

Am i finding a way to cope or has anyone done this and regretted keeping them? My theory is if I keep running in then my feet will eventually get used to it.

I dont plan to do 8:30 in those again, i initially got them as long run cruiser / recovery slow jogs runs etc or like 10-17 miles nice and slow.

If anyones had this at first and the bad things went away eventually please let me know!

Question What's your 2 shoe rotation?

for anyone here with a 2 shoe rotation, what are they?

i currently only have a 1 shoe rotation; megablast.
i'll be retiring them soon as im nearing 300 miles on them.
(might retire at 350 or maybe even 400)

i just picked up a pair of vomero plus lastnight for a decent deal. they'll be for my daily reco/easy/long runs.

i'm not looking to get a pure racer, but i am looking for a faster shoe that doesn't "need" to be plated, for speed workouts and can go long if need be.

although, at a good price that's not a pure plated racer, i don't mind getting into a plated shoe.

i'm not a racer, just love running and progressing!

Question Dynafish Xiaonian/ dyna super sizing

I wear size US12 for all my shoes (Mizuno Neo zen, asics superblast 3, puma deviate nitro 4, Altra escalante 4) because 11.5 feels too snug. My right (largest) foot measures 28.6cm/11.26in. Based on the charts on the Dynafish website I fall in the top end of size 11. With their printed out sizing chart I’m pretty much exactly 11.5. I’ve seen some say the shoe fits long, some say the shoe fits snug, I’m wondering if this varies by size? I plan on getting size 12, is there anyone here who usually wears 12 and was happy with a 12 Dynafish? All sales are final from their US site

Question New Balance 1080 v15 in wide - Still too tight?

Thumbnail

These are the New Balance 1080 v15 in 2E (Wide) in Size 43 EUR.

They look too long and too narrow. I guess a size down would make it too narrow?

As Im a beginner I dont know if its just me or are these bad shoes for me (fitting wise)?

Im pointing on the spot I have pain with most running shoes.

Any other shoe recommendations which are wide on this specific area at the midfoot?

Race Shoe Question As a wide footed runner, should I use non-plated 4E shoes for marathons or pick up a 2E carbon plated shoe?

Hey all, I'm a US Mens 12 4E size foot and am debating picking up a pair of competition shoes with a carbon plate. Right now I have a few 4E non plated shoes that I train with (Hoka Bondi 9, NB 1080, and NB 880). I just got the NB shoes, so I haven't put more than 6 miles on them in a session yet. I've competed in a half marathons with the Bondi's but they still feel tight and cause me feet pain past 4 miles.

Since all the carbon shoes I've seen come in a max 2E width, I wanted to see if it's worth picking a pair of 2E carbon plated shoes or just stick with non plated shoes that are 4E.

I have tried looking in stores for try on carbon shoes, but they never carry the 2E versions of plated shoes.

If you have any shoe recommendations, even if they are not plated, please feel free to share!

Here's some information and preferences, but I'm open to all recommendations:

Budget: ~250 USD (I would still like recommendations even if the shoes are more expensive)

Intended use: Races (marathon distance)

Foot size: US Mens 12 4E width

Foot strike: Midfoot, neutral pronation

Preferred feel: soft ride

Surfaces: Road

Prior shoes I've liked: 1080 and 880 feel good, but I haven't put more than 6 miles in a session on either shoe.

Race Shoe Question Looking for a race shoe for a 4 hour marathon

My sister is looking to run her first 4 hour marathon in Tokyo in March.

She’s previously been pretty averse to carbon plates.

I suggested maybe the megablast as a non-plated option but was curious if there was a plated shoe that does well at moderate paces.

Any recs?

Race Shoe Question AlphaFly or Vomero Plus

I have my first marathon in 2 weeks and have been doing all my training in the vomero plus. I’ve done one 12 mile run in the alphaflys and my legs felt good after but they definitely felt different. My goal is 4 hrs (9:10min/mile). Should I go for the alphaflys or stick with the vomeros. Im thinking about doing my 8 mile this weekend in the alphaflys and making a decision or should I just stick with the vomeros

Question When to replace older/low mileage shoes?

Hey everyone, I bought some Altra experience flow 2s in February or March of 2025, but they sat around for a good while. Now they probably have 150 or so miles on them now that I started running more in the past couple months. I know that’s not high mileage as far as shoes go, but at what point does age get taken into account when replacing shoes?

I am on the heavier side at 215 or so and I’m sure I don’t have great light running technique, so that can be taken into account as well.

Question Vomero / Vomero Plus sizing

Been loving the Vomeros for a while and ordered a pair of Vomero Plus in the same size (uk10). Not sure if I’m overthinking but the Plus seem noticeably bigger in the same size?! Has anyone else experienced this?

Race Shoe Question Stability Race Day Shoes

Hi,

I am running a HM in Madrid in start of 2027.

I currently run in Asics GT2000-15 to help with stability since I struggle with overpronation.

What race days shoes / tempo shoes would be suitable to help me stability wise?

Thanks!

Comparing Shoes Question Looking for an Adios 9 alternative

Hi there, I'm 42 and I can't get used to high stack running shoes. I've always bought the lowest available pair. Then, 2 years ago I started buying Adios 9s and it was a love at first sight. I've ran 4 pairs into the ground.

Now any other low stack shoe, I've tried is either too heavy, not bouncy enough or has some other problem. I really would like to have a second option, especially with the Adios 9 being unavailable in most colorways these days and there being no guarantee, Adidas will ever make and Adios 10 and if they do that the shoe won't be very different.

Here is what I've tried so far:

Topo Cyclone 3 - arch too high
Saucony Kinvara 16 - foam feels like the Adios 9 after 800k
Hoka Rincon 3 - too much shoe, too high

Can you save me some money/shoe returns and just tell me, which shoe to buy? I've also considered the Asics Metasleek, but I live in Europe and I haven't fount a safe way to buy them.

Oh and I'm looking for a shoe for my daily runs, not a race day option. I don't want a plate, I want something flexible - that's very important to me.

P.S. Shoes I've used before the Adios 9: Several pairs of Nike Epic React (considered high stack back then, but they were pretty similar to the Adios 9) and one pair of Streakfly 1s, one pair of Endorphin Speed 2s and some Hoka Mach 4s. Many of these shoes would be too high and too heavy by my standards of today...

Can you help me?

Question What running shoe should I add to my rotation next? (Beginner runner) 45km+ Weekly

Hey everyone! I’ve been running for around 2–3 months
now and am starting to think about adding another shoe to my rotation. I’d love to hear some recommendations and get ideas for the future.

My current rotation is:
Nike Vomero Plus: My main shoe, which I use for around 80% of my runs, mainly easy runs and long runs.
Adidas Adizero EVO SL EXO: I use these for tempo runs and intervals.

I’ve been looking at the ASICS Megablast/Superblasts and the Saucony Endorphin Speed 5, but I’m not sure which would fit into my rotation better or whether I’d even benefit from either at this stage new shoe or not.

How do you guys decide what your next shoe should be? Do you buy based on a specific gap in your rotation, a shoe that interests you, or just because you want to try something new?

I’m not training for a race just yet. I’m mainly focused on improving my running fitness, building distance and getting more comfortable with running. I know I’m still relatively new to running, so I’m not necessarily looking to buy another shoe immediately. I’d just like to hear people’s thoughts and have some options to consider down the line.

Appreciate It!

Comparing Shoes Question Question regarding Rotation

Hi all, I'm training for a February marathon, currently averaging ~50 km/week and building to ~70 km. My rotation is mostly working, but I get plantar fascia/medial midfoot discomfort in certain shoes and I'm trying to figure out what works and what doesn’t. For context, I have extremely flat feet (no arch to speak of) and a little wide

Current rotation
Racers
Saucony Endorphin Pro 4: Good for longer races and very comfortable, but not the most energetic - has been my primary racer for anything HM and up

Nike Alphafly 3: Good, but I can only control it up to about a 10k, beyond feels too unstable

Supertrainers
Dynafish Xiaonian: Perfect so far - I love this so much, works for everything

ASICS Megablast: Super fun ride, but the toebox is too narrow. It chafes my 4th and 5th toes - otherwise I’d probably prefer it to the Dynafish

Saucony Endorphin Speed 5: Causes medial midfoot discomfort, not quite sure why

Nike Zoom Fly 6: nothing wrong with this, but it’s just very clunky

Daily trainers
Saucony Ride 18: No issues to report - just a boring daily trainer

Nike Vomero Plus: Plantar fascia/medial midfoot discomfort

I’ve got up to variously between 150-300km on each of these but these days I find myself only reaching for the dynafish and the endorphin pro 4s because of the limitations of each of these others

I’m looking to see if I can find a suitable racer / replacement long run shoe - am considering the following options and would like to know if anyone has experience with them for fairly wide footed and flat feet:
- Hoka Rocket X3
- 361 Mega Pro 3
- Li Ning Feidian Elite 6
- Saucony Triumph 24
- Saucony Azura Plus
- Topo Spectre 3/Elite (i wish i could get these but they dont seem to be available here)

Open to other suggestions as well! Thanks v much!

Question Superblast 3 sizing

Just got my ASICS Superblast. Do these look too big, or does the fit look okay? These are only my second pair of running shoes, so I’m still trying to figure out sizing and what a proper fit should look like. Would love some input! 😊

***size UPDATE in comments :) as people might be having this little dilemma too

Daily Trainer Question Looking for a new daily trainer

Previously used the Rebel v5 but now I’m looking into different options because the FuelCell just bottoms out way too quickly.

I’m looking for something durable and can handle daily runs, easy runs, recovery runs, and occasional slower long runs. I have a slightly wide foot and usually get the wide version of shoes but normally sizing up will do the trick.

I’m looking at either the Vomero Plus or Aero Glide 4. I’ll appreciate any other recommendations as well

My current rotation is:
- Rebel v5 - daily trainer
- SC Rebel v1 - tempo / race
- Dynafish - long run / race

Question Brooks glycerine 23 wear pattern ?

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

These are the bottoms of my Brooks glycerin 23s . I walk approximately 10 to 14 km per day at a pace of 8.5 minutes per kilometer. I'm walking on asphalt mostly, and concrete sidewalks. I'm relatively new to this. Just started serious walking in May to get into shape. I'm a 170 lb middle-aged male, and my stride feels pretty normal. Is this wear pattern normal? In total I've put 550km on them.

If anyone has any advice based on my wear pattern and activity level of different shoes I should use I would greatly appreciate it. I'm just an old 48-year-old dude trying to get his cholesterol down and get into shape:)

Race Shoe Question Loved the AP3 and Elite V5. Whats next?

Loved both these shoes for racing 10ks and half marathons. The AP3s are gone and the Elite V5s are on their way out. What should I try next that's similar to both of these?

Race Shoe Question Vaporfly 3 kill my calves

I have a pair of VF3 for a while, had used them for 5ks and they were great. Recently used them for a training run for a half marathon, did 10 miles on them and my calves were very sore.

I raced my half marathon this past weekend on them and my calves are very sore, more than ever. Have been running for about 4 years, have done a few half marathons, 3 full marathons and a bunch of shorter races and have never been this sore.

I guess it's the shoes, but what I don't understand is I had a pair of VF2 that I retired at 350 miles, and I was never sore like this with them, even though the VF2 are supposed to be more aggressive than the VF3?

Could it be just lack of calf strength work, or the shoes simply don't work for me? For reference, I'm also on my second pair of Adios Pro 3s and never had an issue with my calves in those. Anyone else experience a similar thing with VF3, and have any other alternatives?
