Chat With a Lefty Tonight!!

Hey all, I am planning on streaming tonight and am looking for people to join me in respectful conversation about politics. I usually start streaming around 7pm EDT but times vary depending in real life factors. Some of the topics I am interested in talking about includes but is not limited to

Economic organization of America (Minimum wage, Unions, Social Safety nets)

Social Justice (BLM, LBGT rights, Systematic racisms)

Riot on the capital (I was there)

COVID related issues (lock downs, masks, government response)

General Left vs Right things.

Some more current and more specific topics can include

Trump Impeachment

Biden's Executive orders

Corona relief

I have done a couple of these successfully, they were productive and respectful conversations. I will even let you choose the format (debate, Q&A, etc) as long as you dont come looking for a soapbox. This will be streamed and unlike in the past there is a chance I might have a small audience. And if you cant make it tonight but are interested in doing something with me in the future DM me. If you can make it tonight or are just interested in joining my community join my discord at:
https://discord.gg/u7VDpjxm

I have a couple of people on the right who decided to stick around the discord and have since contributed to some of the conversations had there as well as contributed to other streams. Though we disagree on politics for the most part we have the same values and we all show each other respect in our discussions. I hope that others who may not agree with me politically will want to stick around as well.

I did this last week and had a great turnout (comparatively speaking) and a wonderful conversation!! I hope to repeat that success tonight and maybe make it even better!!!

Right wing men: Once a cheater, always a cheater? Another dating question

Would you consider a woman for a LTR (long term relationship) if she has any history of cheating? Why or why not?

What influences your decision? Does the context of the cheating matter? What about the age/marital status at the time of the infidelity? My answer is a pretty hard no, but many of you guys seem to regard past behavior as irrelevant at least some of the time, so I'm interested in your thoughts.

Right wingers: Is it advisable/would you ever date a single mother?

Personally, I advise against. I'm referring to LTRs (that's Long-Term-Relationships, for the boomers). Obviously a single mom is fine for casual flings if you're into that sort of thing. I've found single mothers to be less committed to their men, more of a leech, and less attractive than their childless counterparts. Further, they often have worse judgement, and the break-ups are way more devastating. One thing I'll say in their favor is that they tend to be more mature in my experience. Going through the unique experience of childbirth and having to put another's needs before your own has a way of maturing people who try to fill the role, but also in my experience, that's not usually enough to make them better prospects for marriage/LTRs. In the end, the juice isn't worth the squeeze with single moms. What are your thoughts? If I'm wrong, why?

Note: I make an exception for widows, I'm happily married to the mother of my son, and I grew up with a single mom, whom I love.

Are you planning to attend any protests this week?

As the election circus comes to an end and governors continue pushing sweeping mandates and furthering economic lockdowns... Have you protested? Will you?

What are you most excited for in the Biden administration?

A possible red wave in 2022? Biden pardoning Trump? Are you excited about any policy compromises Biden might be willing to make?

Maybe the prospect of another Supreme Court seat opening up during Biden's term, only to go unfilled until 2024?

Even though Democrats won (the presidency), what are you looking forward in the next four years?

Seems everyone defines these terms differently, what determines the divide for you?

What are your thoughts on welfare, safety nets and poverty? Additionally, what are your thoughts on how there are people who struggle/lack basics like health care or housing or end up in difficult situations like paycheck to paycheck and unable to save?

What are some policy goals that you would like to see? Why do you think conservatives have better or more effective/utilitarian policies? How would you respond to someone who thinks the GOP doesn't have the best policies, ideas or lacks vision, could be more issued oriented or wonky/technocratic?
