Rules for this sub - Follow or your posts will be removed

Very simple rules

If you post a video you must include a good summary. If it’s a cooking video you must include the full recipe (not a link to the recipe). If it’s a food video you must include a summary of the video which has enough information for folks to decide if they want to watch.

If you don’t follow these rules you post will be removed and you’ll get a 7 day ban. Repeat violators will get longer and possible perm bans.

Thanks.

You need to marinate it for at whole day to let the chicken absorb all the flavors from the marinade.

It’s one of those simple comfort foods that always feels good to eat, especially when served warm with shredded chicken and your favorite toppings.

I like mine with Chinese crullers, fried shallots, celery, crackers, and a little chili oil when I want some heat.

Recipe here if anyone wants to try it: https://butterjoykitchen.com/chicken-congee/

A friend told me I had to try this rice bowl in Chinatown. It was so good, but I honestly had no idea what the meat was until I scanned the photo afterward. Turns out it was pork ear! Has anyone else tried it before?

Eggplant & Ground Pork Stir Fry with Rice

Made this eggplant and ground pork stir fry with chilies and a savory sauce.

The eggplant gets really soft and absorbs all that flavor, while the ground pork makes it hearty enough for a full meal. Definitely one of those dishes that needs a bowl of hot rice on the side.

Do you prefer eggplant super soft and silky, or with a little bite left?

Homemade Chicken Pad Thai

Homemade chicken Pad Thai with rice noodles, chicken, egg, and a sweet-tangy savory sauce.

I like making this at home because I can adjust the sauce and toppings exactly the way I like them.

Do you prefer your Pad Thai more tangy, more sweet, or with extra heat?

"Lighter" recipes

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for lighter recipe ideas. So far, I have plans to make a lot of bone broth and kimchi. Can make a lot of soups with the broth and kimchi is good for the gut.

I am looking for recipes with less rice and dairy that aren't served ice cold. I'm looking for things that don't feel heavy and I think people more knowledgeable about Asian cuisines can help compared to the more western side of reddit who would tell me eggs and Greek yogurt. Ugh.

I’m sold the food is actually quite good! However, I’m not very skilled with chopsticks, and when I asked the staff, they said they didn’t have any forks either. That’s not very accommodating.
