Ely wrapped in rainy twilight 🌧️
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I filmed an evening and night walk around Ely, capturing the cathedral, the park, Tom’s Cakes, the historic streets and The High Flyer.
I love the atmosphere of English towns after dark, especially when the streets are wet and the lights reflect on the pavement. Familiar places can feel completely different in the evening.
What is Ely like on a rainy evening from your perspective? Are there any spots you particularly enjoy after dark?

Nice to see at least at attempt of leaning into historic Jersey City rather than the usual concrete, steel, and glass skyscraper eyesores.

Palazzos of Catania, Sicily
Catania has a few grand city palazzos built by the city's noble families and believe or not, many of those familys' lineage continue to this day. Which basically means a good chunk of the city's palaces, save the Palazzo Biscari, are closed to the public on most occasions. Even Palazzo Biscari only has roughly seven or so rooms open to the public when the palace itself is supposed to have up to 700 rooms. The rest of them are used here and there for conferences or other fancy events, hence giving us a rare look inside of them.

7-10 are of Palazzo Biscari: OC, a rare example of Rococo architecture outside of Southern Germany and Austria
11-15 are of Palazzo Libertini Scuderi, a Renaissance revival villa on the Via Etnea
16-20 are of Palazzo Del Toscano: Credit to photographer Salvo Puccio.
