Hi!
Princeton’s graded written paper requirement is lowkey tripping me up. At my school, the only essays I’ve written recently for a grade were timed AP Lang writes from junior year, where we had around 40 minutes to plan and write. Because of the time constraint, the quality of my graded writing isn’t the best.
Princeton’s website says:
“The grade and the teacher comments should appear on the paper. If a grading rubric was used, please include this information along with your paper. The Admission Office is more interested in the quality of the writing than the grade it received and encourages you to submit a graded written paper that shows your best efforts, regardless of the grade.”
I’m considering submitting one of my timed rhetorical analysis essays, but I originally submitted it through Google Classroom, so I don’t have a physical copy with the grade and comments on it. I still have the original Google Doc, my teacher’s comments on Google Classroom, and the score I received (something like a 5/6). My teacher usually converted these scores to a 95, but she didn’t write that on Google Classroom.
Would it be okay to copy and paste my teacher’s comments into the PDF, or should I screenshot the original comments from Google Classroom? Should I include both the 5/6 and the 95, or just the original score? Also, in what order did you guys submit everything (grade, comments, rubric, essay, etc.)?
I’d really appreciate any advice, especially from people who’ve already submitted Princeton’s graded written paper. If anyone is comfortable sharing how they formatted theirs, that would be super helpful too. Thanks!!!!!
