Application Question Applying with terrible grades

Got 2 C's every year, some B's, and A's otherwise. I procrastinate until it's too late every time. All of my classes were honors or aps though except freshman year when I had some normal classes. My weighted gpa was right around 4 and I'm wondering if I'll even be able to get into schools with a 50% acceptance rate like UCI. I got 4 or 5 on every AP though, and a 1520 SAT. I was always good in tests, I just couldn't keep up with my work.

Yeah same we prolly fried

Also by UCI do you mean UC Irvine? Lol check the UC database, if ur in-state chances are the rate from your school is much much lower

ucis acceptance rate is 30%. and for whether you can get into schools with a 50% acceptance rates it depends. for example u of maryland (45%) or uc davis (46%) are much much harder to get into than a school like sdsu (37%) or stony brook (49%). acceptance rates dont tell the full story for a lot of schools.

Yeah... my mom was like "your buddy was really hyped to apply to tOSU because he liked the school and it had a really high acceptance rate." I told her 40s to low 50s isn't nominally "really high" then to look up Purdue and she was sooo shocked that was 40-50% too 😭

Depends on the acceptance rate (40-50% would probably be challenging), the rest of your application, etc.

The high SAT and APs make it worse.

Does that apply still if I'm similar (four 5s one 4 on AP, 1550 SAT, sub-4 wGPA, lot of Bs and a C + recovered D) but had a valid(ish) reason for my bad grades 😓 feeling bit neurotic rn
