Last week, I posted about IvyPod, an app I made for iPhone that uses haptics, lighting, and resolution tricks to create a very convincing iPod experience, but with Apple Music as its library. My goal in obsessing over the details is to create an illusion that you're actually holding an iPod with a sheet of glass on top, rather than an emulator app that just looks like the UI. Seeing how the community has reacted to 'holding an iPod again' is so great to see, and I've been enjoying incorporating all of the features suggested to me. What would you like to see in IvyPod?

As the title suggests, I’d love to be able to pin one of the radio stations (specifically KEXP) to the home page of Apple Music. I’m not sure if there’s a technical reason one can’t, and Apple doesn’t seem like they “take feature requests”, so here I am posting here. Perhaps some others agree with me and we can start a movement / revolution

Just wanted to post that the new blue accent appears almost turquoise or like a baby blue on the web player... I wish they extended this to the apps so that it was more easily distinguished from default apps

Two new singles got added to The Books artist page but they're both obviously AI, and obviously not put there by the band. Really disappointing that this is a thing that happens now. I hope Apple Music does something about this sort of stuff.

I’ve used songs for my alarm for years. In May this year, it started counting my alarms as plays for my music replay. Please help.

I add songs to my favourites to listen to every day because it’s easier that way, but I’ve noticed that some songs are getting removed randomly without me taking them off. It’s happened several times, before I thought maybe I’d forgotten to add them but today one got removed that I literally listened to yesterday.

I mean like I just add them back but it’s a little irritated ngl

Just noticed very slow connection and tiles aren’t loading then after a while goes on “connection timeout”. At the moment shows “an unknown error has occurred”. Login is somehow working.

Wonder if this is just me; in any case, I am posting this bug here as it may help people that are experiencing this same problem and are going insane trying to figure out why their Music App is crashing (as I was!)

Steps:

1. Open Music and right-click a playlist > Open in New Window.

2. Open a second (or third) playlist in another new window.

3. Quit with ⌘Q.

Result: Music crashes on quit (EXC_BAD_ACCESS, null pointer read at 0x30, in the exit cleanup: terminate > exit > a few frames inside Music). When it crashes, my custom column order for playlists resets to the default the next time I open Music.

What I tested:

- No extra windows open: quits cleanly, columns saved.

- One extra playlist window open: quits cleanly, columns saved.

- Two or more playlist windows open: crashes every time I tried it.

Other details:

- macOS 27.2, Music 1.7.2. I was seeing the same crash signature earlier on macOS 27.0.1 (Music 1.7) (it was driving me crazy), but I only worked out the window pattern on 27.2.

- Force quitting doesn't crash, but then any new column arrangement is not saved

- Clearing caches and using a new empty library didn't help before I found this.

- I've reported it to Apple through the Apple Music feedback form.

I’ve noticed a really annoying issue with Apple Music on my iPhone.
When I enable Crossfade and set the audio quality to Lossless, songs start playing immediately, but they don’t seem to play in Lossless quality right away.
The Lossless badge often takes several seconds to appear, sometimes even over a minute into the song.
What’s even more noticeable is that the audio briefly stutters or cuts out for a split second exactly when the Lossless badge appears, almost as if Apple Music is switching audio formats mid-song.
However, when I switch to Hi-Res Lossless (which disables Crossfade), songs start playing in Lossless or Hi-Res Lossless immediately, without any delay or audio interruption.
So it seems like Crossfade might be interfering with how Apple Music handles Lossless playback.
Has anyone else experienced this? More importantly, has anyone found a fix that allows both Crossfade and Lossless to work properly?
I’d really like to keep Crossfade enabled without having to deal with delayed Lossless playback and those annoying audio glitches.

It really sucks not being able to have a digital assistant play my music when I ask 😔

I don’t know whether this is the right place or not, but this is only happening on Apple Music.

I've amassed a sizeable iTunes library over the years, and I just went into the iTunes Store in the Apple Music app to check an artist to see which of their discography I was missing, and as far as the store is concerned I only purchased two of their albums when I in fact bought almost all of them. Was there some great reset at some point where they redid the store database and anything bought before a certain date wasn't carried over?

My songs on Apple Music are doubling up when I add them to library but only first 2 if any one has any idea how to fix this it would be great

I've been a Spotify user for years and recently after purchasing a new iPhone got 3 months free of Apple Music and thought what the heck, I'll give it a shot and found myself really liking the type of songs that my personalized radio station has been giving me. Is there a way I can help give feedback on the songs its giving me so it gives me more songs I'll enjoy? I see when a song pops up that I can thumbs down "suggest less" but there are no thumbs up button to tell it I like it? also does skipping a song quickly mess with that algorithm too? id hate to skip a song i really enjoyed just to see whats next and have it assume I don't like the song i just skipped

Anyone may hit the following issue when an error is reported when trying to add a member to family subscription. Paymen was successful although. Maybe useful, I haven't granted Apple Music access to contacts on my device.

More sadly, there is no help from Apple Music support.

So, for all you stinkers whining about the branding change, I suggest moving to Classical 🧐

I created some custom icons that match the style of the new app, and I used shortcuts to replace the ones in my dock to give it a more cohesive look. What do you think? The next step would be doing it for every app, but I don't think I have that much time to waste😅
