Now guys, I know beggars can't be choosers. Still, I'm wondering how long the wait can be. Suddenly, I'm asking myself questions about the whens and how's of Anna's Archive.

Can anyone upload? Do they just pull the files form their own kindle and upload them? Who are these special guardians of free literature that have brought me so much joy over the years?

A very well known fantasy author has finally continued her hit series but I cannot justify the 19€ e-book price tag.

This being a very, very popular book, I'm also avoiding all kinds of media (and quite a few friends) as to not get spoiled. Usually, I'm not in a rush with reading or keeping up with trends but avoiding spoilers for such an anticipated book is proving hard.

EDIT: thank you! The girlies have come together and figured out that the mentioned book is up on Z Library. we learned that new books generally appear there first as AA mirrors / consolidates a bunch of similar websites and doesn't allow direct uploads.

I'm a paying member and use fast downloads regularly. Since about 12:00 CET today (26 Oct 2026), they have been extremely slow:

- Downloads from the fast download server (yqrii5) often stall: no data for more than 30 seconds, then the connection times out ("Read timed out"). Some connections are closed without any response.

- When a download does run, it reaches only about 6–12 KB/s. Normally it is several MB/s.

- Throughput fell from about 80–140 completed files per hour (yesterday afternoon, and 227 between 11:00 and 12:00 today) to about 3–6 per hour since 12:00.

- Around 12:50 CET, *.pk, .gd and .gl returned 403 Forbidden on /md5/ pages, and *.vg was unreachable.

- Fast downloads are deducted from my daily quota even when the file never arrives (about 20 used since 13:25 CET, roughly 10 files received).

From my side, the connection is fine, and nothing changes when I stop all other traffic to the site. Is there a known problem with the fast download servers right now? Is there another server or domain I should use?

hi friends, i am new to posting and relatively new to AA, i have read the FAQ and the bit about viruses/virustotal, but i have a specific question/observation.

I always run downloads into virustotal, I know it's not an end all be all and i always take results with a grain of salt. usually if a file is safe, there are a few companies that will auto-flag it as suspicious, but it's always the same companies that flag every pirated download (im looking at you, Chong Lua Dao), and it's never specific (always "suspicious" but never "malware" or anything).

recently though, one particular company called "Alphamountain.ai" has been flagging some downloads as phishing. that was alarming for me since i've never seen a specific flag like that show up unless it's a genuinely sketchy link (though usually it is accompanied by other "suspicious" or "malicious" flags, and in these cases it was only 1/95 vendors and the ONLY site that flagged it was alphamountain.ai). this only started happening in the past few weeks, and i wanted to check if anyone else was having this issue and/or if it's cause for concern.

the files were both clean with the usual frequent offenders, which i also found odd. i am also not sure if it has anything to do with trying to download things on my school's wifi because in the past my school's wifi has caused issues with completely clean downloads being flagged (though i have used AA at school before as recently as like 1.5 months ago and it hasn't caused this issue)

Anyone getting errors with the libgen links?

For the past couple of days, I've been getting "File not found. The repositories may not be synchronized, try downloading later" for each (and every) one. Before that, slow downloads but they were still coming through

Hello everyone I need something that is not buyable in Italy and is also WAYYYYYY too expensive for my income( I'm a student that can barely afford rent), I already changed my DNS but Italy blocked all reliable sites, like Anna and Z lib, I changed DNS again, but nothing, and with Tor I had issues trying to access or interact with these sites, too. I'm worried for future texts too, I'm a mechanical engineer learning machine vision and ML so every source is way overpriced right now for me, and I'll need future reference, so this issue must be solved in a way that doesn't drive me nuts, I don't really have an income to afford a VPN, what could I do?

I've noticed that whether Anna's Archive works for me, especially when trying to download something, seems to depend quite a lot on the time of day.

I live in Estonia, so I'm in a different time zone from many larger countries. I'm wondering if this could be related to overall traffic on the site. Could it simply work better when fewer people are using it? Has anyone else noticed a pattern like this or is there another explanation?

Hi! I've been using Anna's Archive quite a bit lately, and I have a question. Are all files uploaded and downloaded via torrents? I’m asking because where I live, torrent downloads are closely monitored, and there have been quite a few cases recently of actual users getting sued...

I'm wondering whether the files are downloaded individually, or whether downloading them also means I'm automatically sharing them with other people. I'd really appreciate it if you could clarify this for me!

First of all - please forgive me if this has been asked before - ive only recently discovered Anna's Archive and im also not the most technical(not a great mix).

Ive got a tablet with Kindle app and also recently an actual Kindle - a longggg time ago I was able to send books to the tablet via email and also via dropping the file onto the app symbol but I believe that feature was stopped/reduced(presumably to force to buy books).

From seeing some discussion here it looks like people are able to send books from AA to Kindle- can i ask if theres a simple way of doing this?

In addition - ill absolutely be making a donation to the site because its a brilliant resource!

I love Anna's, and I donated to join the Brilliant Bookworm tier. Turns out I want to be a Lucky Librarian instead, and when I clicked to upgrade to a higher tier, it priced my donation for Lucky Librarian as if I had never donated before. If you're trying to get to a higher tier, do you have to start over again from zero?

In an attempt to get a text for a University assignment, I THINK I have accidentally signed up on a fake Annas Archive site. It was listed on the top of a google search. It has an .is on the end and since I have been on this reddit I am realising it is deffo fake. It was pushing me to donate and thats where I got suspicious, but I did create an account and did "validate my email" to use the site (which I subsequently couldn't use as it only allows me to donate via ways my millennial brain cant fathom) and now I am really worried 🥲

Whenever I run an Anna's Archive search, it runs a browser check but either hangs up or when it does present a CAPTCHA box, it goes back for a few seconds and returns. Is this a me problem or is the CAPTCHA system off?

The file names used to look like this:

Because I am tired of renaming files when downloaden from the site.

Hi just curious do you share with people where you download books (AA) keep it to yourself? I get nervous to share that I download books not pay for them & be judged lol but I am broke! Reading is getting me through things rn! Also do yall download older books & new books tooo I feel guilty when I go and it says “we recommend supporting the author” thx you for the answers feeling anxious today lol

Is everyone else having trouble downloading? It loads really slow until it ultimately fails. Been trying everyday for a few days straight. I know the site was down a week ago and then it got fixed , but maybe not completely?

Every time I try to type in a book it keeps taking me to different websites like shein or temu is this a glitch?

I've tried multiple times over the last 2-3 hours to donate but I keep getting the following error:

❌ Something went wrong. Please reload the page and try again.

So I've tried all the different domains and I've tried all the payment methods I know have worked for me previously and still I get the same error.

What can I do?

Edit: Solved. I tried a few times on a mobile browser and in a different order (registering first and then donating) and that’s worked.

(I meant 504) I can pull up the main page and search results, without issue. But after that, it hits the gateway. Example, if I click on a search result itself.

Here's what's working for me, fwiw.

I'm using mozilla's 'built-in, free' vpn (but I'm sure it doesn't matter which vpn) and choosing Germany at random.

** Then, instead of clicking on a search result, from the search results > download link, I'm right-clicking everything in 'open in new tab'. If I click directly on a search result or download link without doing that... Gateway.
