Discussion Genuine Question from someone that disagrees with a lot of this sub
As the title says, I tend to lean towards the other side of anime discourse. I dislike sexualize in anime, although how much of an impact it has on a shows quality can vary greatly depending on a lot of circumstances. I don't consider myself a tourist, I've watched anime for 10+ years and tend to watch seasonal shows over the big names (My favorites include Botan Fully Blossoms When Drunk, Psycho Pass, and Lycoris Recoil to give examples) although I'm interested to here if people disagree with my definition lol. Anyways, I wanted to ask:
Is there a moral line a show could cross that would stop you from watching it?
This isn't to say your moral line has to be the same as mine, but for example, if there was an incredibly well produced show about a slave owner in America, that focused on him buying and using slaves as a way to make money, would that turn you off from it for moral reasons? Are there any moral reasons a show cross in regards to sexualization or other cultural issues that would make you not want to watch it? Do your disagreements with "tourists" stem from that they have a line at all, or where and why they draw that line?
I realize this post likely goes against the rules of the sub, but I'm trying to come here in good faith to understand why you all think the way you do.

rant WhErE's ThE mEn?!
Ive seen this in every gacha game I have played. "Not enough men", "where are the men". I know certain demographics exist that would want more, and that the OP isn't themselves expressing the opinion, but at times it is straight up doomposting. Is it that difficult to understand that the audience that prefers more female characters usually spends more on said female characters? "Oh but what about LDS?" That is the only game of its kind on the market and is also not the game i am talking about. Is it that hard to just accept that a game has a target audience and cater towards it?
Idk im sick of seeing people talking about it. If you like men that's fine. But dont try turning my waifu collector games into a sausage party. There are already games that are 50/50. Not everything in life is 50/50. If you want 50/50 go play those games.
Is this a modern audience thing? A woman thing? When a bunch of WoW players moved to other games? Or COVID normies joining the space? I dont feel like this was even a topic 10 years ago.

rant Censorship of lolicon is a bipartisan issue!
A lot of people try to make fandom policing and censorship a "left vs right" issue, but censorship of fiction is bad for everyone! The laws that target lolicon will also target queer stories, survivor stories, art and expression from creatives and victims alike. Censorship does not end at the fiction you like, the people in power find queer stories, survivor stories, and lolicon all equally disgusting. Being anti-censorship of fiction is a bipartisan issue! Cute picture for visibility <3

Discussion what search engine you use for general anime content (fan art, games etc)?
google doesn't always give me result I want so I been trying to find other option, I been using mojeek (not the image) and yandex for reverse image search. also I am not only talking about nsfw, if you looking for anime to watch. yandex gave me better result. mojeek image search is censored, but the normal search gave me anime website that are more niche or small.
most search engine are running bing (like duckduckgo) or google so they have similar problem.

Discussion Why are artists expected to always take full responsibility for what they create?
I've been thinking about this for a bit now, and it's been kinda tripping me out in the shower(shower thought).
But why are artists expected to take full responsibility for the art they make? For example, I see NSFW artists get TONS of hate, because they're "exposing minors to NSFW content"...
The issue is, they're not? Almost none of the current social media applications avaliable for use lock NSFW or suggestive content behind age-requirements, and even when they do, it's as easy as 5 clicks to bypass them.
So why are artists the one's who are expected to take full responsibility for this? Why not get mad at the companies/developers for not better safeguarding underage users from being able to see sexually suggestive content?
A bit of a more extreme opinion I have, is that I honestly don't even think this is as big of an issue as people want it to be. Trying to create an Anti-NSFW, Sex-negative canopy around minors in today's world is almost impossible, with search engines being so readily avaliable for anyone and everyone. But even then, what actual damage does it cause, for people to be so up-in-arms about? This is an anecdotal experience from me, but when I was a kid, I was hardly ever accidentally "exposed" to sexually suggestive, or actual sexual content. Most of the time, I was deliberately SEARCHING for it. And that's not to mention all the friends I had in school, that would mention "stumbling" upon pornography, or overhearing their parents having sex...
So like, how the fuck would you even stop these events from happening? And better yet, WHY would you stop these events from happening? Reproduction and sexual attraction are core instincts that all animals develop naturally, so why villainize it?
