Discussion Region free players
So, my Region A player decided to stop working a couple of months ago which sucks because the majority of my collection is Region A, so I switched to my PS3 which I can run an exploit to change the Region. But constantly it doesnt display a picture, I can usually manage to reset the HDMI with safe mode or switching the port but its such a hassle and today it didn't work at all and I'm just so frustrated by it all.
I'd ideally love a 4K blu ray player with Region free Blu Ray/DVD playback. I know there's a couple of models out there, I do have my PS5 at least so I can play my 4K discs but I know it's not the best 4K player out there.
I'm in the UK and if anyone has any recommendations on players I'd really appreciate it. I just wanna be able to enjoy my collection without all this frustration

Now that Crunchyroll's site has changed... where do you shop?
I used to love online shopping with Crunchyroll; I'd fine so many dope tees, trinkets, manga... the selection was diverse and prices ranged. But now, their site SUCKS for 101 reasons. I still watch anime on there, but can't stand shopping on their site... I miss the OG experience.
What have y'all replaced Crunchyroll with?

Discussion I’ve seen this vary collection to collection, so I’m curious what the discourse is here
Integrating your anime collection with the rest of your media versus segregating it off on its own.
Personally I’m a movie guy in general, and treat anime as just another part of a much larger tapestry. I keep it all together. Criterion and Star Wars are the only ones I bother sectioning off.
So the idea of an “anime shelf,” unless anime were the only media I had, always seemed strange to me. Since all anime really is is, well, just animation from Japan. Wide birth of genre and creator. What do you do when you get a live-action Mamoru Oshii movie? Or some other Japanese live-action film from a director that didn’t crossover to animation?
I guess I’m just curious where different folks around here lean on this and why when it comes to their collection setup.

Haul & Pick Up The Blade anime
Had no idea this even existed until I came across a copy while thrifting, picked it up for a couple of bucks.
Animated by Studio Madhouse apparently, they always seem to be involved in horror or horror adjacent stuff. Will have to check this out for Halloween this week.

Haul & Pick Up Just got the first 12 one piece dvds
Hoping to fill in the gaps this black friday.
The hard part about collecting one piece's DVD collection sets is the out of print sets 9 and 12.
I was able to get the first 12 from eBay for about $350 bucks in great condition.

Showcase Humble beginnings
Ay yes, my favorite anime, Forrest Gump.
I only have a few anime in my Blu-ray/DVD collection right now. One interesting thing that I have right now is the particular version of shin Godzilla that I own, which is an old funimation copy. I spent $60 damn dollars to get it cause it was out of print and then they re-released the whole movie in 4k not 4 months later. But that’s not really an anime. I think my favorite looking thing in my collection is probably Gungrave for the slim dvd cases, or the One Punch Man blu-ray for the design of Saitama punching the box open.
Do you guys think I should sell my Gurren Lagann 4Ks to be able to afford the newer deluxe edition blu-rays?

Anime Blu-Ray sites that sell English Blu-Rays and are based in the EU?
Hi I live in Ireland and I was wondering if there were any good Anime Blu-Ray sites that sold English Blu-Rays within the EU.
I used to use All The Anime and Amazon.co.uk for my orders, however since the new EU customs act I am now charged €3.71 (€6.15 from Nov.1st onwards) per item on both sites as well as 23% VAT from All The Anime on delivery since they both ship from outside the EU.
Any recommendations?
