Barking Need Help with ID
We live in the woods of rural Virginia and heard this call/bark multiple times last night and couldn't figure out what it was. Any help appreciated

Sounds like a small dog. Foxes, though, can make all types of barking sounds. The ones here, though, always have a higher pitched bark. We have no coyotes. Is that possibly a wild turkey, though?

I was thinking turkey or something similar but it’s dark… so unless it’s a turkey/chicken that flew away to escape a night predator and now it’s lost, it wouldn’t be making noise.

Someone’s lost chihuahua… lol…I mean it kinda sounds like a turkey, but honestly I think it’s a coyote or a fox. They can make all kinds of crazy sounds that you wouldn’t think they could, but they do.
