what am i doing wrong here??

i've tipped apart practically this whole area for these last 2 rocks to spawn, and they haven't yet. surely i'm missing something? the whole island is covered in decor, or weeds that i just planted, so these are the only 2 spots available for rocks to spawn, yet they don't. the top 3 spawned just fine, the bottom 3 are equal distance away from each other as the top ones, but they're not spawning. :C

The cliffs in front of those spawning points might be blocking them. I don't remember the exact number, but I believe you need somewhere around 4-5ish open spaces behind a cliff for a rock to spawn. You should be able to just cut those cliffs back 1 or 2 squares and then add the cliffs back after the rocks show up.

I could be wrong on this, but I think the cliffs in the front are the cause of the issue. If I remember correctly, there needs to be three whole tiles available between a cliff and the space where you want the rock to spawn so the rock isn’t hidden behind anything. You would have to demolish a part of the cliff, wait for the rock to show up, and then rebuild the cliff.

Cliffs/trees/shadows stop rocks forming. Those bottom two empty spots are obstructed from view by the trees and cliff above. Try removing some of the cliff and trees at the bottom of the photo. You can put them back once the rocks form.

Based on what I’ve read and my experience making rock gardens, rocks wont spawn if they’re all in the same acre (square on the map) or if there’s too many things within that square. If neither of those apply to you then I suggest looking up a guide.

Crazy that I was downvoted but whatever. What do I know? I’ve only made rock gardens at least 6 times but of course I don’t know what I’m talking about at all.
