Hi All,
I look after www.dailyoffice.online for OLSC, which is, as you may know, the website for praying the Office according to *Divine Worship: Daily Office (Commonwealth Edition), from the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of the Southern Cross. It's had several updates lately, so here's what it offers now.
I'm open to talking about features for the web app via email: [Hello@DailyOffice.online](mailto:Hello@DailyOffice.online)

In most hearty wise I commend me unto you; most heartily thanking you all for your patience, prayers and support for our new mod team. Having seen certain recurring questions over the course of our time in this subreddit the team has compiled a new, slightly expanded, set of "Frequently Asked Questions". Should anyone wish to suggest further questions that they believe are asked frequently enough to deserve a spot on this list we welcome any suggestions in modmail.
Q1. What are "personal ordinariates"?
A1. Personal ordinariates are juridically equivalent to dioceses, however they are headed by an 'ordinary,' which is someone who exercises ordinary power by virtue of their office (who is a cleric that may or may not be a Bishop depending on the ordinariate) and are established on the basis of jurisdiction over persons and not territory. For example, the Catholic Church erects 'military ordinariates' to provide pastoral care for the armed service members of a given nation regardless of where they are stationed around the world.
Q2. What are the 'Anglican ordinariates'?
A2. Personal Ordinariates for former Anglicans, colloquially known as the 'Anglican ordinariates', are ordinariates which were erected under the provisions of the Apostolic Constitution Anglicanorum Coetibus for "those Anglican faithful who desire to enter into the full communion of the Catholic Church" whilst holding fast that which is good of the Anglican 'patrimony'.
One or more of these Anglican ordinariates may be established within the territory of any particular Conference of Bishops. Presently there are only three:
Q3. What is the Anglican 'patrimony'?
A3. Anglicanorum Coetibus says that the Anglican ordinariates maintain the "liturgical, spiritual and pastoral traditions of the Anglican Communion within the Catholic Church, as a precious gift nourishing the faith of the members of the ordinariate and as a treasure to be shared."
Q4. Whether the Anglican ordinariates are in communion with Canterbury?
A4. No, if you are a member of an Anglican ordinariate then you are no longer a member of the Anglican Communion.
Q5. Whether the Anglican ordinariates are in communion with Rome?
A5. Yes, members of the Anglican ordinariates are Roman Catholics and are in full communion with the Roman Pontiff.
Q6. Whether those in the Anglican ordinariates must assent to all of the doctrines of the Roman Catholic Church?
A6. As with all other Catholics, those belonging to the Anglican ordinariates are required by the Profession of Faith to give full assent of faith to "everything contained in the word of God, whether written or handed down in Tradition, which the Church, either by a solemn judgment or by the ordinary and universal Magisterium, sets forth to be believed as divinely revealed" and "everything definitively proposed by the Church regarding teaching on faith and morals."
Further, religious submission of will and intellect is rendered to "the teachings which either the Roman Pontiff or the College of Bishops enunciate when they exercise their authentic Magisterium, even if they do not intend to proclaim these teachings by a definitive act."
Those who join the Catholic Church through the Anglican ordinariates repudiate any doctrine that is contrary to the Catholic Faith.
Q7. Who can join the Anglican ordinariates?
A7. According to Anglicanorum Coetibus and its Complementary Norms, those converts from Anglicanism (regardless of whether they were inside the Anglican Communion) and other Protestant sects of related heritage (ex. Methodists, Presbyterians, Lutherans, &c) who wish to join an Anglican ordinariate are eligible to request membership in said ordinariate after they enter into the Catholic Church.
Further, a Catholic who receives the sacraments of initiation within the Anglican Use; who has returned to the faith and practice of the Church as a result of the Anglican ordinariates; or who is in the family of a member of an Anglican ordinariate may request membership in said ordinariates.
Finally, in some extraordinary circumstances the Anglican ordinariates have even admitted practicing 'cradle Catholics' as members meaning that, if your Faith is nourished by the Anglican patrimony and you feel a desire to do so, it is worth applying to your respective ordinariate's chancery.
Q8. Who can attend an Anglican Use Mass?
A8. Anyone is welcome to attend any of the liturgies of the Church and pray with us, regardless of their faith or creed.
Q9. Who can receive communion at an Anglican Use Mass?
A9. Any Catholic in communion with Rome, who is not conscious of any grave sin and has fasted for one hour, is welcome to receive communion at Masses celebrated by members of an Anglican ordinariate.
Q. Where can I learn more about the Anglican patrimony within the Catholic Church?
A. You can visit the websites of each of the Anglican Ordinariates:
There is also the Anglicanorum Coetibus Society's website and the modteam of this Subreddit has created a website dedicated to this question called Patrimony Treasures.

For those who haven't heard, Our Lady of Walsingham (the cathedral for the Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter) is in the process of planning to build a new (and much larger) cathedral church to replace their current one. The pictures here were posted on the cathedral's facebook page.

I’m in the US military and I’ve been talking with the on base priest about becoming an acolyte. This priest is in the Ordinariate. He said that he might begin the process in either the military archdiocese or the Ordinariate.
However, I was never Anglican or Methodist or Protestant at all. Can I be instituted an acolyte without being part of the Ordinariate?

Does anyone have a recommendation for a particular edition of the RSV2CE that is suited to be read from the lectern at Mattins & Evensong? The bible we currently use has very thin pages and a lot of commentary which makes it less than ideal for use at the lectern.

Friends,
I have implemented more Sarum rituals from the Missals of Warren, Pearson, and Dickinson, added the Bidding Prayers and Procession Rites from Henderson's Processionale, as well as the rather colourful interjected Office containing "Non nobis, Domine, non nobis" during the Fraction on ferias.
You may look at the Calendar or "What's new?" In Settings to see which days offer Sarum as an option. Right now, only most of Advent offers Sarum. I have yet to add Solemn Mass.
The following link should take you to the Illustrated 1st Sunday of Advent this year:
https://planetaplicata.com/#/illustrated/2026-11-29/0
Any feedback or correction shall be gratefully received, especially with sources provided.
Cheers,
Patrick

Having lately discovered that traditional liturgies in the Western tradition are no longer so well-known as they were only a few years ago when Churchill was still Prime Minister, I have decided to do a simple personal project by which the Old Roman and English Missals might be depicted with Three.js.
Building upon the calendar engine of Missale Meum, the text of Divinum Officium, and the Sarum Missals of Warren, Dickinson, and Pearson, I have thus far illustrated the 1962 Sung and Low Roman Mass for most days, the same for the pre-1955 Roman Palm Sunday and the Feasts of the Holy Innocents and Candlemas. And according to the Use of Sarum, that of S Thomas Becket and the translation of his relics. Very soon; S Stephen, S John, and S Innocents.
I have considered naming this work the Miserepository and My Dorime, among other things ordered toward godliness. However, I finally settled upon My Planeta Plicata, so that it would be comprehensible to all men of goodwill (or lack thereof).
This whole process has made me neglect sleep to verify the positions of the chalice, and the paten, and the Host, and the purificator, and the pall, at their appointed moments. And even more importantly, that the paten decapitates not the priest, nor stabs the altar server's face by pure accident.
Once you open the link below, you may choose any day or feast that you so desire to see via the Calendar icon and click on "Illustrated Mass".
In the Illustrated Mass, you may choose the degree of ceremony (LOW/SUNG), language, and switch to Sarum for 7 July and 29 December.
There are controls to enlarge the screen and zoom into the high altar. You may drag upon the screen to budge the camera angle horizontally, and even toggle Better Visuals (GFX) if your device is sufficiently obedient. The (?) button may explain how to navigate the site as well.
Any report on rubrical mistakes, any suggestions for improvement, or constructive feedback at all would be most gratefully received.
Here is the link to the aforementioned site:
This work is still in its very early stages. And I should disclose that I had to make use of AI to streamline writing the tens of thousands of lines of code, but all the figures and persons were hand drawn along with the sketches of the art and architecture.
Best,
Patrick

I was wondering if anyone here who uses DWDO CE to pray the Office would be able to tell me where I can find the Venite Antiphons or the Office Hymns one is supposed to use after Trinity Sunday. I recently made the switch to the CE from the NAE and was a bit confused as to where I should find those as for Sundays after Trinity I only see antiphons for the benedictus and magnificat in the supplementary texts section.

My Byzantine Catholic parish community uses an Ordinariate parish to celebrate our Divine Liturgies. As a gesture of mixing our Anglican and Byzantine traditions, above the Prothesis (Table of Preparation), there’s this lovely icon of Our Lady of Walsingham!
Thought you’d like to see this!

To make a long story short(er), I grew up southern Baptist, but about 7 years ago, I decided that Baptist doctrine was false. I ended up in the Anglican Church after looking into Presbyterianism, Lutheranism, Eastern Orthodoxy, and Catholicism. I’ve been attending an ACNA church for about 4 years and have been confirmed for about 2.
For years now, I have occasionally felt a draw towards Catholicism. Each time, however, I have had some disagreement with a piece of Catholic doctrine that has prevented me from crossing the Tiber. Over time, however, my objections have dwindled, and my theology has morphed to be very Catholic. At this point, I think my only major disagreement (and it may not even be to that level. It’s moreso I don’t know if the burden of proof has been met) is with papal infallibility.
I use the BCP for evening prayer, and during that time, I have been praying for God to plainly show to my wife and me where he desires for us to be, whether that be the Anglican or Catholic Church. I feel that this prayer has gone largely (if not completely) unanswered. I have felt like I have reached as far as my intellect could take me 100 times, but by God’s mercy, he has allowed me to eventually reach a little further.
Still, I feel generally demoralized and disheartened by what feels like silence from God in this matter. I feel responsible for fostering the spiritual wellbeing of my wife, and so I feel like I am failing her by not being able to discern a clear answer. I am left constantly doubting and wondering whether feeling drawn to Catholicism is a prodding from the Holy Spirit or a consequence of having spent the better part of 5 years in “denominational limbo.”
In true Anglican fashion, one of the few sources of comfort during this silence and uncertainty has been from CS Lewis’s Screwtape Letters. He writes,
“Our cause is never more in danger than when a human, no longer desiring, but still intending, to do our Enemy's will, looks round upon a universe from which every trace of Him seems to have vanished, and asks why he has been forsaken, and still obeys.”
In addition to the BCP’s evening prayer, I have been praying a decade of the rosary daily and praying for the intercession of various saints. If you all would please pray for me, I would greatly appreciate it. If any of you have any advice in this discernment process, I would love to hear your thoughts

Was looking to purchase the daily office and I see it says november 2026? Is it fully released yet, just being released to parishes first or am I reading this wrong?

Could an Ordinariate Book of Common Prayer be created, at least for the Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter, bringing together all of its liturgical and devotional resources in the traditional BCP format?
