Looking For Suggestions Moving from iPhone 16 to Android, what do I get?
Just as the title says, my phone plan is coming up, and I’m kind of tired of Apple and the ecosystem being a pain to work with. I use my phone to take a lot of photos and videos, and moving files from iOS to windows is a pain in the butt.
I’m looking to swap to an Android with Black Friday sales coming up, but I’m not sure what to get. I was looking at the Pixel 11 Pro, as well as the Nothing Phone 4a pro.
Another big thing for me is wearables. I sleep like a rock, and I use my Apple Watch to wake me up, but it needs to be replaced as well. Headphones aren’t a big deal, I have my Sony headphones that I bring everywhere.
Should I be looking at Google at all, or Samsung, or elsewhere?

I've been a Samsung guy for the past 15 years. My son is a pixel guy and loves it. I have an s25fe and it's been great. The Android operating system is so much more intuitive than the Apple operating system especially if you do things like moving spreadsheets and data. I really don't know how anybody could choose an Apple phone over an Android. They're really just a status symbol for those types

Honestly, I started on iPhone back in with the 5S, it was the first phone I ever saved up for as a kid, and was stuck with it ever since, but since I’m working in more creative spaces, and the applications work better on windows, it just makes it easier to move photo and video files with Android compared to Apple. I know a lot of people that are creatives swear by Apple, but I just prefer windows as a desktop os, and Android works so much better with it.

Before you switch ... I am about to go from Android to iOS.... Google is now pushing Gemini to my phone and I don't like that. I have a subscription to the Pro, and Gemini on the web is great but I do not want Gemini running on my Android Phone. I do not want to chat with Gemini nor circle what I need to be translated. Google implemented all or nothing. So my plan is no Google. With Siri, at least you can disable it and the phone works. With Google, everything is linked and gives you a warning that if you disable this... Google was good, now they are following Miscroslop.

I just updated to the new iOS and they have updated Siri to “Siri ai” or whatever that means. You’re right as of now you can opt out, but I’m worried that they’re moving in the same direction.

I went from iphone to Samsung but if you want photos and videos, go Pixel. Our family has both and Pixel all the way wins. I have the s26 and I do love it
