Device Settings Question Alarm no longer plays through phone speaker when bluetooth earbuds are connected

In the past, my phone alarm would play through either the phone speaker or BOTH the speaker and headphones, but now it only plays through the earbuds and I cannot for the life of me find a way to change that. Most I can find online seems to show people struggling to do the opposite.

For context, I sleep with bluetooth earbuds in order to not disturb my spouse, but they often fall out before my alarm goes off, so I have missed my alarm due to this. I have also had random times where it DOES play through both for some reason, but I don't know what caused it to do so, as it seemed completely random.

What's your phone model and what clock do you use (system or third-party)?

There are settings and features for Samsung devices with One UI, the clock apps from other OEMs can alter this function, and stock Android doesn't have the option at all, etc.

I have the moto g power 5G (2024) and I use the system clock app.

On stock Android the alarm usually routes to Bluetooth if a device is connected, and there's no global toggle. Unpairing the earbuds before bed is the reliable fix. Check the alarm's edit screen in the Clock app for any sound or playback option, but don't count on a speaker-only switch.
