Seeking Game Recommendations π [Request] Games with decent difficulty and replayability. Minimal active input
As in games that don't require live control for movement and such. I like taking my time to make choices so everything I do is consequential. I really enjoy the gameplay loop of roguelites like Slay the Spire and Chaos Zero Nightmare's StS mode, as well as the intensity of something like Darkest Dungeon and the 3DS Fire Emblem games. Is there anything out there that captures both the strategic intensity and replayability of those games?
No emulation please (I already have options there π ). Does not have to be card based/deckbuilding. Good art direction is a big plus π
Thanks!

Slice & Dice is probably the closest match: fully turn-based, genuinely demanding, and built around consequential choices rather than reflexes. The art is more functional than lavish, but the party-building and tactical tradeoffs give runs plenty of variety.

I think I gave it a short toilet session and forgot about it ππ. Need to try it again. Thanks

Ha, toilet sessions are the real test for idle games. If it didn't grab you in the first couple minutes, that's on us. Give it another shot when you've got a bit more time and see if it clicks. Hope it fits what you're after

Probably one of the best roguelikes out there

Agreed, itβs one of those where every run plays out a bit differently, so it holds up for a long time. Hope it works for what youβre after

I also gave this one a toilet session and forgot about it lol. The art probably turned me off. Will try again at some point π

Played it years ago and have seen the updates. It's more of an idle game with really weak roguelite elements, including the rift mode. Not a fan ngl

It's an autobattler, but there's nothing idle about it aside from the very minor kingdom building aspect.
All good if it's not your thing. Lots of meta progression, and each run has rng upgrades....pretty much all the definitive qualities of a rogue like.
Rift mode isn't my favorite either, but it is a great place to try out all the different heroes before you invest resources into your main roster.

Oh yeah, if you haven't played dungeon survival, it is a very good copy of darkest dungeon
Also monster train could be what you're looking for

Into the Breach is a turn based strategy game where you need to take your time to plan your moves for an optimal outcome.
