Maintenance Would you recommend using Liqui Moly engine oil? I need to change my engine oil in a few hundred kilometers. The previous owner used Shell, but I’d like to switch to Liqui Moly. Would that be a good choice?

Looking to purchase a used 2017-2019 Giulia ti sport

• Upvotes

Hello all, i am currently looking at some used Giulia's and have been wondering if its possible to get some sort of extended warranty here in California. I've done some research on the ones im looking at and they are well taken care of,, all single owner,, no accident sub 25k miles,, recalls taken care of. Only issue is finding a warranty plan if possible.

thank you in advance!

5 Years of joy and random compliments!!

I recently celebrated 5 years and almost 60k miles with my Stelvio Quadrifoglio!!

I still look back when I walk away! I still enjoy every time I drive it! It is still the most engaging, most fun and most beautiful vehicle I've ever owned.

2 times back at the dealer for warranty repairs (fuel pumps and controller at 26k miles and PCV tube at 30k), other than that, very reliable! Oil changes every 5k miles, serpentine belt right at 36k (I'm waiting 50k miles for the next belt), spark plugs every 15k miles due to JB4 tune...which will be replaced by Celtic tune in November.

Is it perfect? Almost and you easily forgive those small defects because of how it handles and its acceleration prowess!

Alfa Romeo 159 2.0 JTDm – Limp mode without check engine light, no power above 2000 RPM

Hi everyone!

I'm having issues with my Alfa Romeo 159 2.0 JTDm (Stage 1, 286,000 km, DPF and EGR deleted). The issue was already present before the Stage 1 remap and DPF delete.

When I accelerate too hard, the cruise control automatically disengages. The car drives normally for a few minutes, but then suddenly goes into limp mode. It won't rev past 2,000 RPM and feels like the turbo isn't working at all, although the turbo itself is fine. No check engine light appears.

Previously, the car would randomly shut off while driving, showing a high-pressure fuel regulator fault. I replaced the regulator, which improved things slightly, but the limp mode issue remains.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Could it be related to fuel rail pressure, MAF/MAP sensors, or something else?

Any advice would be appreciated!

Left or right? Which one for winter and which one for summer?

Both are 19" OEM wheels, staggered.
Right is what came on the Competizione.
Left is from the Estrema.

Battery Replacement ?

Hello friends! Long time member, first time poster. I have seen many people say that Alfa’s (Giulia 2020) need a specific battery. Which battery do i need to buy to prevent all of the electrical issues that come with getting a “non Alfa” battery? I’m assuming its a battery problem, car doesnt crank and i cant even open the trunk and none of the lights work when opening doors

18 TI Sport was declared totaled the other day after getting rear-ended.

One of the nicest rides you'll find for that price. Infotainment was top notch too for a 2018 car :(

Metal valve stem replacement

Post image
2 Upvotes

The first few threads on my valve stem flattened due to the aftermarket metal cap someone put on before I bought the car, I've looked into it and think it's possible to replace just the stem part cause it screws into the sensor, without replacing the whole sensor. Getting my tires changed at costco, wondering if they could fix it for me or if I need to get a replacement part from somewhere?

Plastic caps do still fit fine on it, wondering if I could also just get new aftermarket metal ones and they'd work fine without needing a new stem because the threads got messed up from the old one due to the old ones inside threads being messed up from something.

Image for reference to what I'm talking about.

SGW Bypass Help………..

Hey so the SGW bypass from Alfissimo is sold out and the EuroCompulsion one needs me to mess with it for it to do what I need it to do. Should I just wait for Alfissimo to restock or has anyone tried the Z Automotive SGW Bypass and does it get the job done to enable race mode in my 23 Giulia Veloce?

Maintenance Rear side door seal failure repair in Giulietta

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hello,

Recently I've come across water on plastic threshold in the rear. I took door card off and notice the rubber seal between metal part of the doors and plastic carrier plate has degraded and started leaking water. (I've included a photo, not mine but shows door and big black plastic carrier plate).

Do I need to search for the water ingress path? Or is it normal water gets inside the door?

I want to replace the seal but can't find OEM part and I'm afraid it'll fail again. What's the beat option to fix it?

All posts online point to butyl bases sealant ( I have SikaLastomer 710 at hand) but I'm worried it'll be a nightmare for future maintanance i.e. if I need to replace a window.

Other ideas are EPDM closed cell tape and window D-shaped seal (my personal least favourite).

Other than that since I have to drill out the rivets I want to put some light sound treatment but is it safe (considering the water inside) to put it on the inside of the external wall?

I don't want to do quick and easy fit, I want to do it property.

Thanks in advance

Advice for reset maintenance countdown gor Giulia Veloce

Hi guys, I bought my Giulia in last April from a dealership in Germany. I needed to change oil and oil filters last month according to maintenance schedule on the computer of my car. I took my car to service to make it they called me that day for ‘’inspection’’ incl. checking tire, all liquids, brakes ext. Hey cost me 400€. I didn’t want to do that then they only did oil and oil filter change. After all they didn’t reset maintenance schedule via car’s computer. Now, every time I turn on the ignition, I get that warning ‘ scheduled maintenance expired’ on the car’s dashboard. I asked that to service they told me that we didn’t do inspection that’s why we didn’t reset it. Does anyone have any experience with that ?

Project - My 1979 Alfetta sedan

Have owned this Alfetta for just over a year, my first dip into owning an Alfa. Purchased it as is with twin dellorto carbs, extractors and minor rust haha

I've recently upgraded the wheels and tyres to 15's from the standard 14" steelies. Bought the wheels 2nd hand and DIY sand and resprayed them.

Looking to just enjoy the Alfa and replace/ upgrade things as required. Next might be some minor body repairs/ dent removal. Great little project which I can enjoy with my son as he grows up. Will keep posting updates as they come through.

Has anyone swapped 2015+ Giulietta Veloce seats into a 2011 Giulietta QV?

Hey everyone,
I’ve got a 2011 Alfa Romeo Giulietta QV and I’m looking at fitting the seats from a 2019 Giulietta Veloce.
Has anyone done this swap before? I’m mainly wondering whether the seats bolt straight in or if any modifications are needed.
A few things I’d like to know:
Do the front seat mounting rails line up with the 2011 floor mounts?
Are the side airbags and electrical connectors compatible?
Do the rear seats fit as well?
Is it a straightforward swap, or are there any issues to watch out for?
Any experience or advice would be appreciated, especially if you’ve done the swap yourself. Thanks!

US location (happy to arrange shipping or travel for the right car)
Preferences:
White or red preferred, black is my last choice
