Discussion Low-Effort Posts: Part 2 — Help Us Keep the Conversation Going!
We want this sub to be an enjoyable place for everyone to discuss their favorite actors, their performances, and the craft of acting! To help keep the conversations engaging, we’re sharing a little more guidance on the types of posts we’d like to see.
💬 Give Us Something to Talk About!
Posts that simply ask, “What do you think about [actor’s name]?” without any additional context WILL be removed as low-effort posts.
Instead, give us something specific to discuss! For example, ask what people think about an actor’s performance in a particular movie, TV show, or stage production. We want to encourage meaningful discussions about actors and their craft!
📌 A Quick Reminder About the Rules
As mentioned in our previous announcement:
No NSFW posts. These will be removed.
Keep the focus on the craft! Comments that focus solely on an actor’s or actress’s physical appearance will be removed.
⚠️ What Happens if a Rule Is Broken?
Our goal is to keep this community welcoming and focused on what makes actors and their work worth discussing. The first removal will generally come with a warning. Repeated violations may result in a ban.
Thanks for helping us build a community where we can have great conversations about the actors we love, the performances that move us, and the craft behind the characters! 🎭🍿

Actors 🎬 A QUICK REMINDER: LET’S KEEP IT ABOUT THE CRAFT! 🎭
Because we love actors and the work they do! Whether it’s a standout performance, a memorable role, or a discussion about their career, this is the place to talk about the craft of acting!
🚫 What doesn’t belong here?
NSFW posts — these will be removed.
Comments focused solely on an actor’s or actress’s physical appearance — these will be removed.
Low-effort posts that have nothing meaningful to contribute to a discussion about actors and their work.
⚠️** Please take note of our enforcement policy:
First offense = Warning
Second offense = Ban
We want to keep this community fun, engaging, and focused on what makes actors worth talking about: **their talent, performances, careers, and contributions to film and television!
🍿 And yes, we’re also allowing posts about movies and TV shows! After all, you can’t talk about actors without talking about the projects they bring to life.
Let’s keep the conversations interesting, show some respect, and celebrate the craft!
Thanks for helping us make this a great community! 🎥

Recently I rewatched the Asterix & Obelix live action movies. Can we agree that putting Monica Bellucci dressed as Cleopatra in a movie made for children and teenagers was savage?

Can anyone identify this actor?
SOLVED! His name is Oswald Zeulstra and the documentary was "How Disney Built America" it was from episode 3 he was the trolley driver from when Walt was a kid working for his family and he would drop him off at a park that had electric lights that inspired Disneyland.
I took this picture of this actor in a documentary I watched a while back but there was no credit for him. His face is so familiar and I know I've seen him before and it's been months and I still cannot find him. I tried Google lens etc with no luck. Please help!

What are your thoughts on Laura Linney?
She’s such a great actor. I’ve always appreciated her work but after Ozark, I really became a true fan of her ability to occupy whatever space within a role she needs to with grace, skill and sometimes surprising ferocity.
What do you think of Laura Linney?

Tell me what is happening to our generation today.
Tell me what is happening to our generation today.
Sometimes, it feels as though we are living in two completely different worlds. In one, people are losing their lives, families are being torn apart, and countless others are struggling just to survive. In the other, celebrities continue with their everyday lives, often seemingly untouched by the reality so many people are facing.
And yes, I’m talking to you, too ,the well known actors who interact with people on Reddit, answer questions, and engage with the public. I’m not saying that every actor has a responsibility to comment on every issue, nor do I believe that staying silent automatically means someone doesn’t care. There may be personal reasons for that silence, and not every public statement is necessarily genuine or helpful.
But I do think it’s fair to question the absence of meaningful conversations about what is happening in the world, especially when someone has a platform that reaches millions of people.
Fame comes with a certain degree of influence, whether you ask for it or not. A few sincere words during an interview, a willingness to acknowledge human suffering, or even a small effort to raise awareness can mean something to people who feel forgotten. You don’t have to be an activist, have all the answers, or turn every public appearance into a political statement. Sometimes, simply acknowledging what others are going through is enough to show that you haven’t lost touch with the world outside your own.
What frustrates me is the enormous difference in circumstances. While ordinary people are fighting for their lives, worrying about their families, and struggling to afford basic necessities, many celebrities have financial security and opportunities that most people can only dream of. Of course, success doesn’t mean that someone has no personal struggles, and losing a job can be difficult for anyone. But there is a difference between losing a professional opportunity and losing the ability to provide food, shelter, or safety for your family. Financial privilege offers a level of protection that many people simply don’t have.
And when you have that privilege, along with a platform and a public voice, I believe it’s worth asking how you choose to use it.I’m not asking celebrities to solve the world’s problems. I’m not expecting them to speak on every tragedy or demanding that they prove their compassion publicly. I’m asking for a little more awareness, empathy, and willingness to acknowledge the reality that exists beyond their own lives.
Because people are watching. People are hurting. And sometimes, hearing someone they admire acknowledge what is happening can make them feel a little less alone.
I just wish more people in positions of influence understood that speaking up doesn’t always require a grand gesture. Sometimes, it starts with simply refusing to act as though nothing is happening.
My question is this: in a world where so many people are suffering, shouldn’t we expect a little more awareness and humanity from those who have the privilege and the platform to make their voices heard?
and i don't feel bad for boycotting you guys

Which actors can portray pure anger without saying a word?
Clint Eastwood has been doing it for decades. They just have that innate ability to effectively embody anger without completely blowing their top, but you can see it happening at any second.
Anyone come to mind?

Does anyone know who this actor is!! And what movie he’s from!
My grandma has been deeply in love with this actor for a while now but she’s never been able to figure out his name. She only has this low quality image which has been vandalised with sheep. Please help her find out who this handsome Irish man is!

One of the most versatile actors in the history of cinema
Robert De Niro is one of the most versatile actors I've ever seen in cinema's course of history. He could easily fit into every genre and change his attitude completely as it fits to play that particular character. Ever since his debut, he has completely gone through tremendous transformations for the sake of portraying his characters convincingly. He clearly captures the essence of his characters whether he is playing a loner or a mafioso or a wannabe comedian or a psychopath or an old timer. He could even beat Al Pacino when it comes to versatility in my opinion.
Would you guys too agree with me in this regard?

Is this sub literally only "what do you think about (blank) actor" posts?
Usually with a suggestive photo of an actress attached. Talk about braindead and low effort. Literally every single post that comes up from this sub is the exact same crap. Not sure if karma farming bots or what, but man it's getting stupid.
