Even in his BYU loss Carr made a lot of NFL level throws and is clearly the best field general in the class. The dude is smart and puts great touch on his passes he just had a few throws he’d want back. I’m still very comfortable taking him top 10. Sayin is buns and always has been same with arch. Mensah and Mestemaker are worth our first rounder too. I’m not worried about this class with where we’re drafting

I want Mestemaker because his name sounds like Meatmaker and I find that funny

I always read it as Waste-maker, and I find that funny.

I said last year Arch was ass and people came at me for it, sure looks like he is in fact ass. If his last name wasnt Manning he would be in the FCS and MAYBE a day 3 pick.

I’m right there with you. It’s not that I hate Arch, but to me he’s a 3rd round pick at best from what I’ve seen from him. And he consistently was being mocked first overall.

People shittalk beck but that man can move an offense and looked like he knew what he was doing. He made many really stupid mistakes in college, but he isn’t afraid of being wrong and doesn’t play scared. Arch would have weird ass dry spells where he plays super scared and the offense literally does not move at all. With beck, u knew he was marching one way or it was coming back the other LOL

Genuinely said this last year and people were scoffing at the idea. He wouldn't be at Texas now if not for his last name.

Monkeys paw curls, you get Cooper.

If that was a real analysis which it isn’t there’s lots of college ball left and a couple more names of good QBs. This would be ideal for us. If for some reason they are so anti-Beck playing this year and think he needs a year to sit then having next year be a class with tons of talent but no QBs would be ideal. We could load talent around Beck and give him a real season as his tryout.

There's a huge issue with qb (every single position tbf) development in college that doesn't translate to the NFL anymore. This isn't even an NFL issue too, we see this shit with the mlb minor leagues when they restructured the rosters.

Guess we’ll never know since jacoby is still out there.

This has been part of my issue all season. I feel like we need to know what we have there before we go into this next off-season. I'm not hating on JB, at this moment, I just want to see Beck get reps, I want to know what we've got and I wanna know if we still need a QBOTF

You will know he has multiple concussions if he starts behind our o line this season.

8

u/sungoddaily 1d ago

Younger guys should be able to make up for that with versatility.

We had to hear how awful greenbays o line was and how terrible Pittsburgh's o line just for them to meet in the Superbowl.

I'm not saying this kid is Rodgers or burger boy but get him out there before the Cardinals stink has time to set in.

u/Fuggedd 15h ago

The line is straight dog shit and cannot protect a rookie qb, he is pretty much going to get hurt playing behind it. He’s not a elite scrambler and even if he was we would have a rg3 situation on our hands where we end his career in one season.

I would love a Cardinals jersey that says Mestemaker but I don't wanna wish that on the poor kid

Monti better draft Beck a legit offensive line.

u/Many_Surround1739 1d ago

Monti better not be here this next draft💀

3

u/sungoddaily 1d ago

I really gave him the benefit of the doubt when he let bro walk to broncos but what a damn idiot move.

8

u/Exatraz 1d ago

Monti better not be here to make any future decisions.... but that said, the OL was given a lot of resources. They just got devastated with injuries. Paris is out, they signed seumalo, frojolt is signed for awhile and good, they drafted Bisontis and adams to play RG, Gaines was drafted and is a backup, Williams has also been looking decent enough and might earn a future RT spot. I really think people are too harsh on our ol overall.

All that said, they should still spend more midround capital to build up better depth

Pal doesn't know ball and left off the best QB in Mensah. Mestemaker may go high, but dude should not be thrown to the wolves and start for most of his first season.

4

u/Muh_Nado 1d ago

Yeah Mensah will be QB1 when it's all said and done

Taking a random dude’s opinion on r/nfl is too damn funny , I bet 80% of r/nfl haven’t watched a college game in their life . There are 4 guys with good upside this year , Carr is actually good has good processing and a good arm and can make pre snap adjustments which is rare for a college QB , Mestemaker is probably the most Josh Allen lite that’s actually looking like a Josh Allen clone backing it up with stats not just potential , Mensah is one of the most accurate QB’s we’ve seen in a long time yeah his arm talent isn’t good but it’s comparable to a Purdy or Burrow and Chambliss is a little Kyler lite but he’s a way more refined pocket passer as his rush rate isn’t as high as Kyler’s was back in the day granted he’s 25 but I wouldn’t be shocked to see at least 2 of these guys succeed at the NFL level . People want guys who throw for 10 k yards and 150 TD’s these days which isn’t going to happen anymore with the new college format

Watching CFB doesn’t make anyone any better at evaluating talent. I’ve literally seen multiple QBs over the last decade every year described in similar fashions . Some are busts some end up working out. It’s random, there is very little point in trying to say “This QB has pro-level etc etc already!” Because that means shit when every fan and analyst says that about every top college QB ever who then busts year in and year out.

Literally throw a dart at a dartboard and that’s the chance any QB has at working out in the nfl.

u/awmaleg 6h ago

I knew Rosen was ass from watching him at UCLA. That’s the one I felt confident in. (Ignore all my other advice though)

1

u/VioletSalamander 1d ago

I want Mensah

u/Slow-Raccoon-9832 17h ago

This wont hurt moores draft stock

Hes protecting his draft stock by sitting out the rest of the season

1

u/FreshBusy1 17h ago

Sorry I haven't kept up with college much. Is Sellers bad now too?

1

u/Technical_Lychee_222 13h ago

Would a guy like Dart or Anthony Richardson Jr intrigue you guys if they were available for a fair pick?

3

u/Ancient-Display-3337 9h ago

No. Dart never slides and almost tries to get contact. That's why he's injured. AR has a completion percentage in the .400s and also gets injured frequently. Might as well roll with Beck and see who they have.

u/awmaleg 6h ago

He and Skattabo are two dumb peas in a pod

Take the BPA regardless of need. Every position not named TE needs help.

11

u/Whit3boy316 1d ago

Probably unpopular opinion but I actually really hate the BPA tactic, unless the player is like light years ahead better than the best player for the position you need.

4

u/space_llama_karma 1d ago

This is the answer. If you build up your trenches, basically every other position benefits from it. We need to invest in both the offensive and defensive lines next draft/FA.

I'm a Steelers fan who lives with a Cards fan and watches every one of your games.

You should fire Monti and go after Andy Weidl the Steelers asst GM and basically our "chief scout".

He came from the Eagles 4 years ago, and he has spearheaded the Steelers drafting Jones, Fautanu, Frazier, McCormick, Ihenachor, Anderson and Dunker for the OL. It's taken a few years, but suddenly the Steelers and their very very average weapons and old immobile QB have a tremendously solid offensive foundation because the line is young, deep and starting to dominate.

It's better than just drafting QB2 and throwing him to the wolves. With Paris' unfortunate injury I think it's perfectly reasonable for the Cards to take OL first round next two drafts- take one RT and a guy with T/G versatility who can play T in the event Paris doesn't recover well, or kick in and be an elite G if Paris does come back.

Get an oline like that in place, and then it really is as simple as adding a couple of weapons and a competent QB. You're no longer looking for a saviour in the draft, just someone to come and do his job.

In this year’s draft BPA at #5 would be either EDGE , WR or CB . There really isn’t a case to not take 1 of the blue chippers or a QB when you draft this high , Love is an outlier tbh class didn’t look that good last year

2

u/Whit3boy316 20h ago

As of now it may be one of those positions.

1

u/Due_Night414 1d ago

I get that. But imagine taking a BPA at #5, Colin Simmons the Edge from Texas. Paired with Sweat. Who says BPA won’t match trenches need by the way?

2

u/Whit3boy316 20h ago

What if BPA is a WR LOL

3

u/621_ 1d ago

Tired of this BPA bullshit. Positional need is what we have to do

2

u/Mizzyaxp 20h ago

I think both things can be true, considering we need players at every single position.

(Maybe not TE or K, but still)

3

u/That-Butter 1d ago

Jeremiah Love and Marvin Harrison Jr. say hello.

3

u/gr8scottaz 1d ago

Yeah, this is how we ended up with Love. We don't need BPA. We need OL and DL. Draft either one of those two or trade down and then draft one of those two (or both).
