944 + 987 fall cruise 📸
It’s the perfect fall weather for getting out and about in the 944 with no destination. Our friends up street have a sweet 987 so we hit the farm roads last Friday. 👌

Do not ask me if we're doing anything special for it, cause we aren't. Lol
Please bring your finest loaf of bread when you join, you will understand later!

hello fellow 944 kids,
does anybody have experience with markup paint for garnet red 944? i just did a 3000+ km ride across Europe 2 weeks ago (it was fun, i can tell about it if anyone is interested), and as a result, i have some little marks/scratches on my garnet red (LM3Y) 944 (most notably someone with a green car left a good 6cm scratch just above my front wheelhouse...) I've been trying to find a markup pen/paint to cover these carefully, but can't find this exact colour anywhere. do you happen to have a source? or, what could be a closest next to mark these up?
thanks!

Before I get the angle grinder out, anyone have any suggestions for getting this bolt out? I should mention it is free spinning

I’m in the process of replacing my from engine seals and it looks like who ever took off the rotor last time sheared the bolt holding it on, any tips on getting it out?
Got it out but stripped the treads of the adapter it’s on so gotta find a replacement for that now

I may move soon to another state. my 944 will have to stay behind since I can't use it as a daily and im gonna be in the rust belt (my frame is beautiful). ill return... eventually. I estimate between 1 - 4 years. but I dont have people who know how to drive stick. car is in great health so Im wondering for the 944 what things I may need to do to prep it for a long length of not running or driving.
its a 1986 base 944. It will have to be stored outside since I dont own a garage. the weather gets ICY during January, and it gets HOT (like 80s 90s during May - August).
this car is my child, its my first project car and I brought her back to life after finding her rotting for years. just don't want it to happen again.
I CAN come back every so often but not for long. I dont know the schedule yet.

I just got an ‘84 NA that has been sitting for 8+ years. It starts and runs, I have a lot of things to fix and restore, but I’d like to get the timing belt replaced ASAP. That’s something I don’t want to do myself. Anyone have any recommendations in the south OP/KC area for a reputable Porsche shop to do it?

Found all 3 on Marketplace for a deal I simply couldn’t refuse!
I was having trouble with my dash lighting and checked the dimmer switch only to discover that a previous owner decided to cut the wiring for it. And they cut it so close to the plug that there's basically no wire to play with for splicing it back into the wiring harness. I found a plug on ebay that had plenty of wire still on it but now that it's come in I've discovered that it only has 3 wires as opposed to 4 like the one off my car. Anybody have any idea what's going on here or if there's a wiring diagram that would show how it's supposed to be wired.
In front of the Porsche Experience Center in Leipzig/Germany. There was some car meet event there today. Lots of old Porsches, quite a few 944 and 924 and then these two that they have there on a semi permanent display

Not too shabby for a base model 1985

My original review here:

So I have to take back some things I said. The unit DOES have fader/balance and tone control. It is not described in the manual. To get to the menu you must tap the "SEL" button, then use the track select buttons "<- or ->" to scroll to the settings. I put some infinity reference 4x6 in the front and the system sounds very nice. I was incorrect in my previous review and hate spreading incorrect information. I am happy with the unit, it sounds good and it fits in very nicely with the interior.

The weather right now is prime for cruising with friends. 🍁 We hit the backroads yesterday with our pals in their CaymanS and it was sooooooo enjoyable. We did our best to keep up. 😎

Last year I had an oopsie while driving behind a semi in a construction zone.
The semi spat up a chunk of tire (road snake) that hit the lower part of the bumper and did a little damage. I went ahead and bought a new one from Germany but meantime my bodyshop guy performed miracles and was able to repair the original cover.
I have no need for this now.
It's BNIB, albeit painted in Copenhagen Blue and located in Little Rock AR.
Here's the cost breakdown:
Cover: $1900.
Shipping from Germany: $500.
Paint: $700.
Serious offers only please.
IF, and it's a big IF, you need it shipped, figure it'll run about $300-$500.

So I’m prob going to lose my indoor storage. May have to be outside for the first time in its life since 1986. What will be the best car cover for Massachusetts winter weather? Thanks in advance.

My son and I thought it would be fun to do a Halloween series for our little 944 brand we cooked up called Midas Motor Club. Midas because our 944 is gold. I love how this series turned out. Cheers to the “Always broken, Never dead” transaxle crew 🍻
This post is less about promoting and simply showing some fun shiz my son and I created. Don’t crush me 🤣 But, if you want to see what we cooked up, you can do that here: https://www.instagram.com/midasmotorclub

So. Am I just a massive idiot that cant put the pin back in or is this a legit hassle for others as well? Is there a secret way to do this? I'd like to know before I scare the neighbors further with the obscene amount of screaming and cursing thats happened the last few hours.
Like I know where and how its (supposed) to work, but it just won't go
