Quick mod update!
The bots really love the '80s, so I've turned on Crowd Control and enabled Bot Bouncer.
Most of you won't notice any difference, but brand-new or low-activity accounts may have posts or comments held briefly for review.
Thanks for helping keep r/80sMovies about the movies and not the spambots.

Quick reminder: this is r/80smovies, a place to talk about, share, and celebrate movies from the 1980s.
Lately we’ve had too many posts that are just pictures of popular actresses from the 80s, especially low-effort “hot celebrity” type posts or half-dressed glamour/swimsuit photos. That includes repeated Phoebe Cates posts and similar content where the movie connection feels like an excuse to post the picture.
Posts about actors, actresses, scenes, performances, trivia, interviews, behind-the-scenes info, posters, trailers, soundtracks, and real movie discussion are absolutely welcome.
But posts that are mainly focused on someone’s appearance, rather than the movie, are getting ejected from the arcade. They will be treated as spam.
Going forward:
So grab your popcorn, rewind the tape, adjust the tracking, and help keep r/80smovies focused on the movies, the performances, the stories, the scenes, the soundtracks, and the nostalgia.
Thanks.

It came out at a perfect time for us. Especially because there was nothing to do in the middle of the summer in the hot desert town we grew up in but to go to the movies. It was actually filmed in the city I live in so it’s a little more special to me, but what did you think of The Lost Boys?

I definitely don’t think Ferris bueller would have been a great parent. Veronica and Heather Duke from Heathers? Ooh, definitely not either. I actually have a set of headcanons on the heathers subreddit about how I think their kids would have turned out (I think Veronica had one, a girl.)
I rewatched sone kind of wonderful the other day. I don’t have a good idea right now of how I think Keith and watts would have done as parents (I’ll come back later and talk about it more) but I think Keith might have been more lax with his kid about whether or not they wanted to go to college. I’m actually not sure that I see Watts wanting a kid though, I’m not positive.
I meant parenting mistakes in the title lol
Rat from fast times at ridgemont high probably became a helicopter parent

“Throw it to Lucas!” I loved this movie as a teen. It was such an understated depiction of teen love, friendships, and social clique dynamics. The opposite of a Hughes movie. Corey Haim’s acting was unbelievable, one can only wonder what could have been for him had he not been abused by the industry. So many stars emerged: Winona, Sheen, Piven, Thorne-Smith. Hard to find it on streamers though. What did you all think?

As a kid some parts scared me from this film...the frog eating was silly and made my brother laugh. But for me, it's the ENDING.. what were they thinking with this ending?
Do you remember this film and did the ending also freak you out?
What is happening here is David sees his parents being eaten by the aliens, with feet sticking up. But a full gore/eaten sequence for the parents wasn't actually shot due to time constraints with John Dykstra's special effects team, leaving it to the sound design and the freeze-frame.
Aside from the thought of your parents being killed, the scene before it adds to the horror by David escaping the ship blowing up and he wakes up from this nightmare and everything is fine, until he wakes up again sees the spaceship returning.
