Hi guys, thought you might like this build. Custom case, 2080TI, and just a single fan.

I have a build video here: https://youtu.be/zSfsFlaw7uM

Heads up, the build was janky (I am no Optimum Tech), but I think it came out really nice for my first time watercooling.

EDIT: CAD files are now posted. Feel free to use this as a starting point to make your own, improved version. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4745520

OMG i was tinkering this exact layout for a year now then eventually gave up, but you made it real! This made me so happy! Isnt the cables of the psu really easy to route with the psu behind the mobo?!

It is!

If you have a 3D printer, you can build off of my file to build your own version: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4745520

Thanks for the video, but could you please answer what those two Samsung things are? I didn’t see the word “Samsung” in your parts list. I’m super new to building so sorry if this is a dumb, newbie question.

They are two 1TB SSD storage drives. The main "boot drive" is on the motherboard, but I wanted some extra storage for video footage and these were on sale.

Ooo that mountain side cutout is so sick this build is insane

u/altapowderdog Jan 30 '21

Thanks!

The mountain cutout was just because I shattered the glass, but it ended up being a cool detail

Those little USB C 16 inch displays are sleeper godsends. Got one for travel, but ended up using it as a side monitor for just about everything I do. Even got a little lap desk with a mount on it for working on the couch. Those things are legit.

u/altapowderdog Jan 30 '21

They really are useful. Mine is 13" and I think it was only 100 bucks. So nice for Raspberry Pi stuff, too.

2

u/spacembracers Jan 30 '21

Yeah I use mine on my Pi and just about everything. Didn't think I would use it too much, and was skeptical since they're pretty much all made by little-known Chinese companies. I got the 4k one since I'm used to retina scaling which was a bit pricey, but I certainly use it enough to justify it.

I see your Meijer jug. Checking in from Muskegon, you?

6

u/altapowderdog Jan 30 '21

Good guess. Detroit.

6

u/KTheory9 Jan 30 '21

Alright... who do o make the check out to for this case?

12

u/altapowderdog Jan 30 '21

I could post the CAD files on Thingiverse later, but it will require a lot of work on your part to modify them for your specific hardware. It’s exactly configured for my hardware and there isn’t even real mounting points for things like the SSDs.

So sick, something about the visabe samsung drives gets me going.

4

u/altapowderdog Jan 30 '21

Thanks. The drive power cable does have a 3rd connector... If these SSDs go back on sale, I could upgrade to 3Tb. I have no reason to... but that would look even cooler.

sick build man! can i ask what case that is? abs if it’s possible to get the stl if it is 3d printed?

4

u/altapowderdog Jan 30 '21

I'll post the files on Thingiverse on Monday and will add the link to the video description.

Just know that it is a custom case, designed exactly for my hardware. You'll need to download Fusion 360 and modify it for your own hardware.

That is crazy impressive

Neato! Your build process is already giving me ideas.

1

u/Art_4_Tech Jan 30 '21

Really nice build! Love the icy/mountain theme across the open area and the slot for... acrylic? glass? Well done.

2

u/altapowderdog Jan 31 '21

For the glass, yep. The video shows it with the glass.

3

u/reddituserzerosix Jan 30 '21

Nice, fancy window corner

3

u/killchain Jan 31 '21

"Small feet would make Gamers Nexus sad."

Sorry, I really wanted to take this out of context.

2

u/abastage Jan 30 '21

Man that is flat out impressive. I have a NR200 & decided I wanted a tall cube, but haven't found what I want & started looking to make one on my Ender 3. After watching your video it became immediately apparent I don't know enough about CAD to tackle doing what I want (Single bottom rad as well, except a 200mm with all the components visible floating above it).

What you have done is quite inspirational & humbling.. Thank you for sharing.

2

u/Ascoolasmypc Jan 31 '21

Would the nouvolo borg case be something kinda like what you want? I saw it on there site and it looked cool for a cube case

1

u/abastage Jan 31 '21

I like the asthetics of that, but it wont fit my GPU & the cooling is lacking

1

u/Quistty Jan 30 '21

You should try lazer cutting the glass for custom fonts

1

u/sykonet Jan 30 '21

Awesome work!

1

u/CampAsAChamp Jan 30 '21

It looks like a huge LEGO, this is sweet!

1

u/TreyWait Jan 30 '21

Love it!

1

u/mknrls Jan 30 '21

this is amazing!!! :D

1

u/KisaruBandit Jan 30 '21

Holy fuck that's a BIG radiator.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 30 '21

That’s a cool looking cube case.

1

u/Audiophile33 Jan 30 '21

this build is just a single uninterrupted collage of all the components right up against the glass.

super cool! one of the best things i’ve seen on here

1

u/skooLx Jan 30 '21

Wow what a neat build, came out great!

1

u/AlbatrossFit2424 Jan 30 '21

Amazing build! Love the utilization of the shattered glass!

1

u/ebolamonkey3 Jan 30 '21

This looks awesome! What are the dimensions? Looks smaller than 20L

1

u/Eeve2espeon Jan 30 '21

Distilled water jug for size :P lol

good build

1

u/liquidhaus Jan 31 '21

Well done!

1

u/NinjaFlowDojo Jan 31 '21

This looks awesome mate, great job!

1

u/3Dblacksheep Jan 31 '21

This is very cool and unique. Very well done!

1

u/mozeisley Jan 31 '21

Amazing build, I subbed to your channel.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 31 '21

I am indeed entertained!

1

u/TotallyABot Jan 31 '21

Insaanely cool

1

u/WOWAnotherRandomUser Jan 31 '21

Wow, great job! 👏👏👏

1

u/MrBarry Jan 31 '21

This is amazing! It would probably look good to add another piece that is effectively a stripe, in an accent color, that covers the unfortunate seam. Hope I can do something like this myself some day.

1

u/uniqueidd Jan 31 '21

That looks sick bro. Good job

1

u/das_Keks Jan 31 '21

This looks sooo damn cool. Well done!

1

u/sushiyogurt Jan 31 '21

Doesn't look like any case I've seen before. Awesome

1

u/cyanophage Jan 31 '21

I was about to put that flow indicator in my loop. I hadn't thought that it might add noise. Now I think I'll leave it out.

Case looks awesome!

1

u/Mr_Vorland Jan 31 '21

I thought this was a mineral oil build at first.

1

u/PuppyEiz Jan 31 '21

if it had 1 200mm fan bottom and 1 200 mm top, i d buy it

1

u/GamerKidforfun Jan 31 '21

i am foaming at the mouth
