Homura is best girl. One of my favorite examples of the groundhog day loop too, I haven't seen many threads use that part of her power much.

I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be happy that Sayaka isn't last.
But she's not first so you're wrong.

Oh shit, this is my favorite character right here. Time to do a write-up.
Homura Akemi. She's got a lot of power, a lot of determination, and a complex and emotional personality that shows just how far one person is willing to go (too far?) to save a person they love.
Spoilerinos ahead.
Homura's tale is such a tragic story. All she ever wanted was to protect her friend, and even after spending years and years reliving the same month and half of hell ~100 times, her goal was ultimately stopped because of Madoka's willingness to help others. Her need to protect Madoka gradually becomes an obsession, and leads her to take drastic measures to ensure that she is "safe."
She at long last gets her victory in Rebellion with by rewriting the universe, but it's a pyrrhic victory as it's heavily implied that her efforts will not last. She may have stopped the Incubators from causing suffering, but at the cost of wiping out the past, present, and future, was it worth it?
The symbolism throughout the third movie leads me to believe that she actually commits suicide at the end (dropping off the edge of the world in the final scene), which for all we know might end up destroying the universe given that she basically took over it.
I could write for an hour more about what makes this character amazing, but I feel like I'd just end up gushing. In short, her story is a perfect faustian tragedy, and I think that her ending is a very fitting one for the character and the story.
Side note: It's kind of interesting that she's a member of the supporting cast for the first few episodes, until episode 10 happens and the series very much so becomes about her, especially in Rebellion where she goes full protagonist.
Glad she got one of these threads before the end of the year.
