Saw this after the crossed trailer dropped. Honestly I thought it was pretty good. Crossed in general is pretty poorly written and the edge is silly more than disturbing; but I do find a sort of morbid fascination with the whole thing. The whole concept of - let's just try to get to the absolute bottom of the well of depravity, what is the worst that can happen to you and that can be done to each other. Honestly something about that just fascinates me and very very little out there goes that far.

On that note, the sexual violence; I completely understand, especially if you're a woman, to be turned off by all that. Can't blame anyone for that. I will say though that the movie does it justice - never is the sexual violence protrayed gratuitously or titillatingly or otherwise anything other than absolutely horrific. I would in fact argue that the fear a woman faces with the constant threat of sexual violence is the point of a movie, magnified to 10000x. We see this in the train before the crossed ever get started, and we see it in the umbrella guy (amazing acting btw) and the way he single mindedly pursues the MC and her friend (who gets the same treatment despite being non traditionally attractive, just a woman). The MC is unsafe in the company of literally every male (crossed or not) and it ends with the boyfriend turning and wanting to do violence upon her as well. I'm not saying you shouldn't still find it off putting, that's completely fair, I just think it's very easy for a story like this to make light of SA, and I don't think this movie does that, quite the opposite.

Overall, surprisingly good movie - I have always been deeply skeptical that crossed could ever work in movie form, and still am frankly, but this was a pretty strong movie.

Also thought it was a cool touch that the train creep (I think) is the only infected that doesn't cry. Seems like he always had that evil within him and unlike the others he doesn't feel bad about what he's doing, possibly explaining his single mindedness compared to the other infected too.

{SPOILERS ALERT] I don't think anyone said anthing about this but I think this movie is really really sad. I like how the movie started briefly about the couple's daily life that makes the characters feel more real and for some reason I see myself in them, thats how real it felt and also the scene where an infected starting rambling through the city loudspeaker in the background is deeply unsetteling in my opinion, even tho it's completely day light. Also the ending, is abit confusing I mean the scene where the protagonist was locked behind the cage door and said some vulgar things to the heroine, and the heroine was sobbing uncontrollably and I didn't know/understand if its bcs she was disgusted of the things he said or shes just sad to see that the guy infront of her is no longer the person that she knows. But overall I absolutely love this film and the colors and locations that they shoot the film are amazing aswell. would def recommend the film!

This might've been the most uncomfortable movie I've ever watched. It just kept getting worse and worse. I can handle gore and such things pretty well, but there was points during watching where I had to pause the movie for a little. Seriously good though, the Chinese are on another level.

why is everyone referencing the eyeball scene?? I wanted to watch this but every time I look up this scene on google it is said that a businessman stabs the victim with an Umbrella in her eye. Surely this cannot be that gruesome considering this concept is present in many other movies?

The old man who stabbed her eye with an umbrella actually fucks that eye socket with his dick
