I hope he won't go anonymous with Alfa.

Imagine the Alfa is good and he manages to extend the record for a few more races.

Bottas has been a solid driver for Merc team. It's kinda sad sometimes in comparison to Checo for example, who is lauded as a supporting driver, but Bottas is shat on for it a lot. Hope he does great at Alfa!

The rhetoric around Bottas on here recently reminds me that we have a lot of new members.

Until about 2016 Bottas was rated by many above Ricciardo and both of them were expected to be quite good. He was seen as "stagnating" a bit vs Massa, but still annihilated him on pace, and was one of the top 3-odd qualifiers on the grid when he came to Mercedes after Rosberg's retirement.

To be honest I'd still take Bottas over Ricciardo in these 2017-2021 cars. It's been all about qualifying.

The flying fucking Finn well done. He deserved that seat in Mercedes. Hopefully Alfa can give him as good as memories were in the Silver Arrows!

Congratulations! What an undervalued driver in my opinion, he was key for Ham to take so many WDC and Mercedes WCC. One of the best 2nd drivers ever.

That's an incredible stat. It's easy to trip up or run into car-related issues in Q1/Q2 so the fact that he's made it into every single Q3 is really impressive.

That's a good impressive!

Even though Mercedes was the dominant team for (almost) the whole V6 hybrid era, you still have to get in Q3.

He deserves better than Alfa. Honestly I would’ve loved to see an Albon/Bottas pairing at Williams in 2022 as I feel Williams can nail the new regs and be a quite solid team. I think Haas is going to get more priority over Alfa. (BTW I love Latifi and feel his Sunday pace is quite solid, just obviously feel Bottas is the better driver for Williams to have. Him and Albon are both very good at car development and driver feedback.

Perez couldn't get out of Q1 when Max got pole without DRS this season.

for reference

For those saying it is because of the car: “then why Lewis didn’t do it” 😜
