Discussion Home selling advice
My parents are trying to sell their house in West Palm Beach and having no luck. My parents moved to WPB 4ish years ago to get out of the cold weather for my dad’s health, I recently moved them closer to me in Arkansas due to my father’s needing more hands on care.
Their house has been in the market for 80 days with nearly 33 showings and we’ve offered credits and lowered the price multiple times. I don’t know what to do. We cannot afford to keep it even with leasing it we would still be losing money. (they got a very predatory loan). They can’t do Airbnb due to their HOA I’m feeling lost and our Realtor has offered no suggestions. Any ideas?

Community HALLOWEEN GET TOGETHER🎃
For families, trick or treaters, or adults who are residents in Olympia, I am throwing a Halloween get together!! Over the past few years and especially since COVID, I have felt the Halloween spirit dying and I am trying to revive it!! Dress up in costume, stop by, have a good time! I’ll have small appetizers and snacks, music, drinks, grilled foods, cup pong, decorations and more! I’d love if our neighbors could come by and have a great time with us! Completely outdoor get together, bringing food or drinks is encouraged as well!! Happy Halloween🎃👻☠️🕯️
Address: 3144 Hamblin Way, Wellington
Starting at 6pm
EDIT: I don’t want this to be a crazy rowdy party of anything, just a chill get together for the neighbors and friends! My instagram is @colettestclairr if you have any questions :)

Discussion What the hell is happening in Palm Beach County schools? Parents, how are you navigating this?
Seriously, what the 🤬 is going on with the Palm Beach County School District?
My daughter is a freshman in high school, and the entire experience so far has felt like a clusterfuck. We’re only in October, and she’s already had at least three different English teachers. She’s told me about teachers walking out of the classroom mid-lecture because students were getting too loud, teachers being passive aggressive, and teachers openly stating that they don’t check their emails. Meanwhile, emails to teachers and guidance counselors go completely ignored.
Even freshman orientation was a mess. She came home looking more overwhelmed than enlightened.
What concerns me most is the change I’ve seen in my daughter. She was once a straight-A student who consistently took advanced classes. Now she’s struggling to keep up with assignments, forgetting things, becoming increasingly disorganized, and coming home completely drained. She’s overwhelmed and starting to shut down. Even socially, she’s having a difficult time adjusting.
Then there’s the placement into advanced classes. How does a student earn a D or F in math but get moved into another advanced course because they scored a 4 or 5 on a standardized test? What exactly are we measuring here? And how is that setting students up for success?
I’m genuinely trying to understand what’s happening. I don’t want to just point fingers at teachers or blame the school for everything. I understand that teachers are dealing with their own challenges, and I know my daughter has responsibilities as a student. But something feels seriously off, and I don’t know how much of this is specific to her school or reflective of a larger problem within the district.
At this point, I’m questioning what my options even are. I don’t have the ability to homeschool right now, and I do value the social opportunities that come with attending school, especially during these teenage years. But I also don’t want to keep sending my child into an environment that’s leaving her increasingly overwhelmed and disengaged.
For parents who have experienced something similar, how are you navigating this? Have you found ways to work with the schools when communication seems nonexistent? Have you switched schools or moved your children into FLVS Full Time or some form of homeschooling? If you’re a single parent who also works from home, how are you managing that?
And seriously, is anyone else experiencing this? Are there schools in Palm Beach County where things are actually functioning well?
I’m looking for some genuine insight because I’m at a loss here. What are we supposed to do?

Tourist Info Visiting Halloween weekend
Hello everybody, how’s it going? My friend and I will be visiting West Palm Beach Halloween weekend and we’re just wondering what events there are and we’re also wondering if there’s any place that serves the tower of margaritas or anything like that nearby

Community “Near Mar-A-Lago”
Does anyone else get annoyed when a piece of media pertaining to something in Palm Beach (or in some cases, West Palm Beach) being referred to as “near Mar-a-Lago”?
I understand that yes, factually, it is near Mar-a-Lago. But it’s the signaling, from both political sides too.
It’s as if Mar-a-Lago is the capitol of Palm Beach, and I would argue it’s not even close

Community 28F Looking to Make Some Girlfriends in WPB
Hey ladies! 💕
I’m 28F, Caribbean/West Indian, and looking to make some new female friends around my age here in West Palm Beach!
I haven’t been living in WPB for too long, and honestly, I haven’t explored much of the area yet. My routine is pretty much work and home, so I don’t really get many opportunities to meet people my age or make new friends.
I’m pretty laid-back and not really into fitness or super active stuff lol. I’m more into shopping, going out to eat, catching a movie, going to shows, visiting new places, exploring, or just finding random fun things to do.
I’d love to meet some genuine, easygoing girls around my age who are also looking to make friends and actually hang out. It would be nice to have some girlfriends to make plans with, explore WPB, and enjoy good company!
Open to making friends from all backgrounds! If this sounds like you, feel free to comment or message me! 💕

Community In need of third place
Anyone know good places for people in their 30s to hang out in Palm beach gardens or nearby? Somewhere quiet.
Where do the women in their 30s hang out, other than trader joes?
I could try kava places, but i wont drink kava.
I already go to the beach.
people in the bars and clubs look kinda young.
Meetup sucks.
What are my options?

Pic / Video I'm making a huge fantasy themed map of Florida and would love to get some some local landmarks included around Fort Myers and elsewhere. Any suggestions are welcome.
I'm making a map of Florida in a classic fantasy style (sorta Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones). It's going to be filled with real world history and mythology, with the aim of highlighting local landmarks and history in a fun and educational way. Please ignore how rough parts of it look (text going through hills, rivers, etc), it'll all get cleaned up at the end. Forests will be going on towards the end of the process too.
While it's around halfway done, I'd love to get more places and features in here before I get this made into print. Any more burial mounds, ruins, forts, battlefields, Civil War heritage, Native history or the like that you think should be on here? Anything else is great too - landmarks, natural features, mythological creatures or just anything cool and quirky you think would look good on the map. Thanks!

Local Eats Good food near-ish the airport.
Hi! Landing at PBI fairly soon. I’m going to be hungry and would like to not have fast food on my way up north towards Port St. Lucie. Any recs for restaurants either around the airport or on the way up?
No hangups about cuisine. Just no Mexican bc I’m from LA. Lmao.
Maybe somewhere with a decent martini? But also nowhere TOO fancy bc im in my airport outfit- unless it won’t be a problem.
Thank yoooouuu!

Moving Info Thinking about moving to West Palm/Jupiter
We are thinking about moving to West Palm/Jupiter area to be closer to family and because we think it seems like a fun town after visiting. We need to spend more time there, but do you think it’s a good place to raise a family? We are looking for a safe neighborhood with a good public elementary school (bonus points if the middle and high schools are good as well). Thanks in advance!

Discussion Employment in WPB
I’ve been applying to jobs that I am qualified or over qualified for and I’m struggling to even get responses. My experience includes 8 years of customer service, 5 years of operations management, 4 years of sales, and a B.S. in business specialized in finance. I’m most interested in either a corporate business role like at NEE (but haven’t heard back from any of those applications yet) or a banking role preferably some form of management. Anyone have any advice or willing to connect? Thanks

Community Yoga/adult dance classes
New to the area.
I’m looking for an adult dance that incorporates, ballet, exercise, Pilates. They don’t have to encompass all of those, but that’s just the idea. I’m not looking for Arthur Murray type of classes.
Would also like to find a decent yoga studio. I’m not a yogi, but appreciate movement
TIA

Moving Info Looking to move- WP, Jupiter, Del Ray, Juno
My fiance and I (31 & 32) have lived in Nashville for the past five years and are looking to move to one of these areas. We are not big drinkers, but love a good beach and wellness/fitness scene and an occasional restaurant for dinner/date night a couple times a month. I went to West Palm for my bachelorette party but wasn’t able to get a good vibe of what it would be like to live down there. Anyone have any advice for any of the other areas? We haven’t decided if we plan to rent or buy yet. We want to be close to the beach, but also don’t want to be in a straight retirement area. Any advice would be great!
We took trips to Jacksonville and St Pete to check those areas out earlier this summer. We liked Jacksonville, but it’s run down once you get out of the nice beach area. St Pete was also great but we want to be on the Atlantic side so he can surf.
