I love reading these stories, it's always interesting to me to understand what makes people walk away. You will find that the right are much more tolerant of differing views. You can be a pro-choice Republican or a bisexual conservative and people still consider you a human being with value. Contrary to leftist propaganda, conservatives do not hate LGBT people. We still have our share of assholes, but for the most part feel free to speak your mind & you won't be attacked.
You may have to find some new friends, look for people who are generally happy & don't have rainbow colored hair. According to a study from a few years back, conservatives are happier than liberals, so you have that to look forward to.
Welcome, friend. I look forward to seeing more of your thoughts!

You’re so right. It’s funny because I grew up thinking that right wing people are all extremely intolerant, and that’s what the media always pushes. But it’s completely the other way around. I never wanted to associate myself with any conservative label because I do have some beliefs (such as the LGBT thing) that are stereotypically things that conservatives hate and I was terrified of being excluded because of something silly like that. But despite being bisexual I’ve never felt more comfortable than I do with conservatives. I live in the south (just grew up in a liberal town) so I’ve definitely been exposed to people who aren’t on the left and I do have a couple good friends who are conservative, and I feel so much more at ease around them. Like I can breathe and not have to watch everything I say. They’re definitely way happier people too, i totally believe that! I feel like the left is always trying to find something to complain about. That’s why they’re not as happy in general. It must be so exhausting to nitpick everything and find the negative in literally every situation. They can’t go a day without shouting racism or transphobia at something completely benign and innocent.

"Don't have rainbow colored hair"
Lmao I must be the only conservative on the planet with blue hair and facial piercings, so this comment always gives me a giggle. The funniest part is, despite having colored hair myself, I avoid other people with it. I'm always sure to wear an American flag to deter the crazies, though. I just think it's amusing how I ended up liking a stylistic choice that's almost exclusive now to those with mass hysteria. Finding another conservative in alt circles is always such a rare treat.

You should listen to “no agenda” podcast with John c. Dvorak and Adam curry. Pretty good insight into the leftist brainwashing through media and what the government in general is pushing, both sides. Been listening for about a year and has helped get me through a lot of the bullshit

If you are looking for a libertarian sub that is actually libertarian, you should try goldandblack. The others are all overrun with lefties.

Welcome to the Nazi Party friend! /s
But yeah... Not entirely joking, once you break away from the extreme Left, you're basically a Nazi now lol. But I'm sure you're already aware of that.
Walking away from the extreme Left does not mean you're a Republican, or have to be. You can still be on the left ideopolitically, but not identify with the monster that the Left has become. Despite being left leaning, I've always just considered myself an independent, because I always hated the idea of political parties and "sides," because I don't think any one side is correct, and because they encourage tribalism. Sometimes the liberal way is correct, sometimes the conservative way is correct. Sometimes neither is correct, but a nuanced middle ground between the two is.
And I like your comment about being burned at the stake lol. Because quite frankly, this shit has basically become an ideopolitical cult. And we're all apostates guilty of heresy in the eyes of the Church of Woke-ism.

Just know, left and right are equally corrupt and neither parties are the solution. We must do what the founders did and start a new country.

I agree. I’m never going to be all the way towards one side ever again. I’m not a fan of political labels at all anymore

I walked away before it was even a thing. Registered independent for about 20 years now. What I’ve come to believe is this. The ruling elites have discovered the power of politics by division, and are using the MSM to absolutely betray and ridicule all patriots just so they can satisfy their ever increasing greed for power and money. These are dark times, and the free thinking man is now being portrayed as the enemy of the “state” and we owe it to each and every one of us who think this way to resist and spread the word of liberty and freedom as loudly as possible

Welcome friend. This is how most people come to the side of freedom. Sadly the Republican party does not represent most freedom loving people, we have many Rhinos that care about their pockets more than the people. But, at least you have found a place to voice your thoughts without being immediately cancelled. Welcome.

If you feel like social media is soul-poison, I've found that reading some good books can help concoct an antidote.

Welcome to the party. I was never a hard lefty but as a blue dog Democrat I’m basically a klan member to the modern left.

The vaccine shouldn't be political. Do what is right for you and your family. If you don't want to take it, don't. That's what America has always been about... The government cannot intrude on your rights.
Conservatives are fighting for one thing mainly: Your rights.
Leftists want one thing: Do what we want or you are a racist, xenophobe, bigot, misogynist, or whatever else ist they can come with. Why else do you think it's always the left that cancels everyone? To them, it's become acceptable to cancel those who have an objective opinion.
You mentioned the multiple genders. It's crazy. Why? Because these same people are claiming that the vaccine is very safe according to the science but at the same time, ignore that science has always been accurate in their stance of how many genders there are: TWO. I personally took the vaccine because I felt it was best for me. What's best for me isn't what is best for another. Someone obese might want to chug ten gallons of soda daily. Imagine if the government stated that everyone must now chug ten gallons of soda. I know it's a bit ridiculous to even use this analogy but that's how it usually starts. Once you allow the government to have more power than they should, it sets the precedence that it is customary in the future.
BLM is a total joke. There has to be a hidden text underneath stating (only if police officers commit the crime). Fighting to have corrupt and bad police officers off the streets and to be prosecuted for their horrible conduct is a great thing and one that every human being stands for. Creating hysteria as if police officers are running around hunting down black people is creating a system where people don't trust police officers. Come to NYC. It's common for people to shout PIG or 'fry em like a bacon' at a police officer out of random. The total disrespect they have for people who keep the communities safe is just astounding. If BLM truly cared about solving black deaths, they would be at Chicago, Baltimore, Maryland, D.C., etc., with protests every day. But they don't. They create hysteria, knowingly encourage riots, and damage communities.
Just read r/politics. A difference in opinion not only gets reported, downvoted to oblivion, but you also get BANNED. That's how you know this shit is toxic. r/politics should be a place to discuss politics and generate discussions on both sides. Downvoting and banning for a difference in opinion is the exact opposite of what this platform is about. But the mods don't care so r/politics is basically a leftist circlejerk group where innocent individuals get poisoned and never do their research. It's a great thing you're still young and have a whole life ahead of you without doing what the leftists love to do: Pretend to be a victim.

I think it’s hilarious how they were all so supportive of black people when it was convenient for them and gave them woke points on the internet. Now that it’s not trending? Crickets. Nothing but crickets. It’s actually pathetic.
Quickly learned that r/politics is not for me. I love Reddit don’t get me wrong, but it’s crazy to me that one of the biggest subreddits on here is so one sided. Maybe they should change the name of the sub to r/politicsonlyifyouhateconservatives.
Agree with everything you said. I chose to get the vaccine as well because I also felt it was the right decision for me, personally. That does not mean I approve of it being mandatory or forced in order to live a normal life, work, or travel.

I still consider myself liberal, but I’m 100% voting Republican down ballot in every election I can legally vote in. I love that you call then leftist because that’s what they are. There is nothing liberal about the modern Democratic Party. They abandoned liberals the second they started trying to mandate speech. There’s way more of us than you think. The issue is the leftist shout constantly and make their numbers look bigger.
Btw, have a plan for when this sub gets banned. The internet isn’t on the left, but the owners of social media are. They will ban this sub the second it has enough cultural influence to matter.

Well you don't need to agree with Republicans. Most of them are rhinos. I'm a lib right person and I love Republicans like Ron Desantis for example. Doesn't mean that I like the rest of em.
Anyways, welcome to the club! What's funny is that new right leaning people are created every day because of Covid, BLM, Antifa and so much more. But then again, I'm sure that it turned a lot of centrists into leftists so who knows.

I’ve gone through very similar experiences and feelings myself, and I want to say this: Walking away from the Democratic Party or the left in general does not automatically make you a Republican. You’re free to figure out what suits you best, and that doesn’t have to conform to a mainstream political party. Just know that there are lots of us who’ve come to similar conclusions about the left, and you are not alone. Welcome. Let’s try to figure out a way forward together.

Once you swallowed the red pill you cannot go back. If your peer group is suffering from terrible and misguided group-think then you will not be happy associating with them so long as your true self is not welcome. And they can be incredibly vicious if you dare to question the dominant narrative. You are elevating yourself to a plane above them. Instead of left/right you now see the world and up/down or right/wrong. You are no longer tolerant of the lack of logic or lack of depth in their thoughts. Its like you are the adult in the room and your peer group are a bunch of children. Its f’ing exhausting managing the relationship when you just want to explore different ideas and not have to face the guillotine every time. Get some new friends. Try some conservative club. Conservatives eat this walkaway stuff up. They love red pill stories. Stop thinking in terms of Republicans but rather conservatives. Conservatives accept that there will be different opinions in the world. Conservatives think the lefties are misguided while the lefties think conservatives are evil. See the difference. Good luck.
