I think modern dating has made us forget that love takes time
I’ve been thinking a lot about modern dating and how everything feels so instant now.
We swipe, match, talk for a lil bit and sometimes decide within minutes if someone is worth our time.
But here’s the thing… love takes time.
Sometimes you don’t feel that instant spark. Sometimes attraction grows from friendship, shared experiences, late night conversations, or just slowly getting to know another human.
And I think that’s so beautiful.
I wonder how many wonderful connections we’ve missed because we were so quick to move on to the next person?
Don’t get me wrong, you should never force a connection or stay somewhere you don’t feel valued.
But I do think we’ve become so obsessed with finding the perfect person that we sometimes forget people are complicated, imperfect, beautiful little humans.
Love isn’t always fireworks and butterflies.
Sometimes it’s a slow burn. Sometimes it’s finding comfort in someone you never expected.
And maybe instead of constantly asking “is there someone better out there?” we should sometimes ask “have I actually given this person a chance to show me who they are?”
Idk, I just think human connection is one of the most beautiful parts of being alive and I wish we gave it a lil more patience.
Anyway, thanks for attending my lil TED Talk. 💚
