Introducing Simon and his cast! Been loving seeing the pictures of all the cute cats here while we are home resting and healing from surgery ~3 weeks ago.
Hope this photos are as cute to everyone as I find them and if anyone has advice for how to handle the last couple weeks in cast please share, we are both going stir crazy.
I’m sure some will be interested in what happened so here is a short version. Simon’s favorite spot was up high in my closet and he caught his foot on the way down. A fracture was found that involved the growth plate so corrective surgery was needed and a few weeks of crate rest later here we are. Hoping for a fully recovery and thankful for a great vet and orthopedic surgeon.

Rescued her , bottle fed her, nursed her back to health, now she just turned lucky 7! She was found as a baby and almost lost her eye (hence the cloudy eye) she went through many vet visits and treatments and got to keep her eye! I always thought she was chocolate since she got sooo dark! But turns out chocolate doesn’t mean brown in siameses.
Here are a few pics for context!
I’m thinking she is seal point .

I just wanted to share how much this lottle girl has grown since Jun 4th. She was a rescue. No mother or siblings.
3-4 weeks old, still being botled feed and tosting up beautifuly. Such an independent little soul, confident and bold.

My little 8 month meezer is enjoying life ❤️ but truthfully I have never seen a cat sleep like this 🤣

I should have thought to ask this in my last post whoops.
Valkyrie was raised by a breeder, and then adopted by me. She was socialized to people properly when she was a kitten, as far as I could tell. Despite that, she is wary of strangers and must come to them on her own terms. Context is I live alone, so maybe that didn't help.
How do other people here encourage social confidence in their cats? My other non-meezer cat is very confident around strangers, so he's a role model in theory, but Valkyrie is very particular. She's almost kind of a "tsundere".

Everyone meet Benson. He is a 16 week old Balinese Seal Point. I flew all the way from Chicago to Oklahoma City for him. He’s such a lover boy, extra affectionate.
He has two older brothers. Deacon - 9 years old (gray/white tabby) and Jack - 3 years old (orange tabby).
After getting Benson’s stool sample back (negative) he got to meet his brothers and the second night/third morning they are all friendly! The slow introduction lasted a night lol
Benson is currently taking the powder probiotics (FortiFlora) because he has some diarrhea. Hopefully in the next few days his stool is solid and then he can officially be roaming around with his brothers. He is currently in a separate bedroom until then.

Princess Pyewacket wasn't being suitably photogenic until I waved my scrunchie at her. She has this tendency to begin a vigorous grooming session anytime I pull out my phone to take a picture.

Before someone comments “don’t help, just film” or how I should’ve immediately helped, I left Beans dangling for a couple second because she got herself into the situation and needs to learn to either not do that again, or to get herself out of the situation because dad’s not always going to be there to save her.
She got her other paw on the curtain and a foot on the table so she could unhook after a couple seconds of scrambling. I was ready to grab her if she started to panic so she wouldn’t rip a claw, but held off from jumping straight in because then she’d be doing the exact same thing a day later when I wasn’t there to rescue her.

She’ll be about 7 months old tomorrow. I rescued her when she was less than 2 months old, from a squalid situation in the small town where I work.

This is my boy Remi🩵 He’s about 4 months old and I adopted him 3 weeks ago. (Pic of him the day I got him at very end). I know he is not pure, was the only Siamese in his litter
I feel so so incredibly lucky that I get to call him my kitty, he’s already becoming my best friend. He’s sleeping on my lap as I type this lol
He’s truly such an angel of a cat. Absolute chiller. He loves to cuddle under the covers, be held like a baby, and have his belly rubbed. He’s so curious and very agile, a great jumper. I’m nervous for him to get older bc he’s already jumping onto barstools and off the bathroom counter haha.
We had two long car rides this weekend to meet my family and he did AMAZINGLY in the car and with meeting new people. If he ever meows, it’s a polite one-and-done to communicate something. If he bites, it’s very gentle, it seems like he wants to play rather than hurt. He loves hunting games and has endless energy when prompted, but could also snooze on your lap forever. He follows me around fairly consistently when I’m home and I love it. Greets me at the door and lets me scoop him up and smother him in kisses.
And obviously he is GORGEOUS. Ppl keep assuming I paid big money/got him from a breeder, but my luck is really that my bestie volunteers for a shelter.
I love his little white goatee and matching booties. His eyes are so striking and the toasty ombré on his fur is so beautiful. He’s grown so much in just these 3 weeks, it’s hard to tell how big he’s ultimately going to get. He’s also been getting a little darker, I’m curious how much he’ll toast.
Cat ownership is fairly new to me, I had one in my family growing up but I live on my own now. This post is just because I wanted to gush about my new baby. He’s all I can talk about and I’m sure it’s getting old for the irl ppl in my life haha. My mental health has improved tremendously already and I’m so looking forward to more life with him.

I have a million heating vents , but they insist on using the same one. Go figure. Nero isn’t sharing that well.
