Sav 311

Just wanted to say, I used the SAV311 app yesterday for the first time to report a bunch of branches that had grown into the bike lane on Lincoln. I made the request on the app at 10am and to my surprise, I got an email that they had trimmed them out of the lane that afternoon! Anyway, I just had to give props and encourage people to use the service as it actually works well!

I miss club One, while they're down, are there places similar to club One that are open? Doesn't have to be downtown. Just looking for LGBTQ places.

I hope we can have a mega thread one week from today

The post from yesterday about monitors for an upcoming event which does affect us locally and we participate in, but if we type out the word, apparently we get modded, anyway that post made me think that it would be great if there was a central post we could come to on that day for communication about what, if anything, is going on.

I am planning to go 🗳️ early (can’t type out the word), then I will be available for a while in case there are long lines. I can bring water around, i know the rules are 150 feet from the building and 25 ft from any individual person. Hopefully there won’t be long lines anyway, i know a lot of people have 🗳️ early.

But anyway, people could post on the mega thread if they need anything or if they are witnessing things that should not be happening. If the mods don’t want to start a mega thread, I could start a thread or someone else could, just a central thread for everybody to communicate in.

The monitors, I’m expecting them to be inside and watching the poll workers, so hopefully no drama there. Get out and 🗳️, people, and you can do it early through this Friday, October 30.

Music scene?

hi savannah :) my partner and i are considering a move here for a job opportunity, and i want to know if there’s still a decent music scene. i’m a musician in my 30’s and my inner dirtbag won’t be happy unless i can hang out at divey shows and find some friends to play music with. i came through on tour quite a lot in the 2010’s and loved it, but have not been back since like 2019. truly appreciate you guys letting me know what’s up :)

Best neighborhoods for traditional trick-or-treating in the Savannah area? 🎃

Hi everyone! Where are the best neighborhoods around here for classic, door-to-door trick-or-treating (like in the movies)? Also, what time does trick-or-treating usually start and end around here?

My husband, our baby, and I are dressing up for the very first time and would love to find a fun, festive spot. Thanks in advance!

Steak or Pork Chop Sandwiches Nearby?

I went out of town this past weekend and got these steak sliders that were so good. It reminded me of both of these pork chop and ribeye sandwiches I would have growing up. Is there anywhere around here that has either?

Rehoming bearded dragon

My female bearded dragon, Slime, for rehoming. Unfortunately, her gout has returned, and she is experiencing swelling. I’m currently unable to afford the veterinary care she needs, and I want to make sure she receives appropriate treatment as soon as possible.
Slime is approximately a year and a half old. I care about her deeply and don’t want her condition to worsen because I’m unable to provide the necessary care. Rehoming her to someone who can address her medical needs may be the most responsible option. If anyone has any recourses for help please let me know and thank you in advance

Best liquor store for American whiskey?

I’ll be in town this weekend and looking for a nice liquor store that has good bourbons and ryes. I’ve heard Habersham is good, are there better ones with a nice selection? I’m not interested in Canadian, Irish, Japanese, etc. whisky.

Does anyone know what they are observing for? And why here in particular? If you are someone who personally believes we need stronger voter id reqs, why is targeted hyper focus on these sites needed? It's not very historically precedented in this country

Mrs. Grace Belcher grave in Colonial Park

Post image
22 Upvotes

Hello- I couldn't quite figure out which sub to put this in. I was in Savannah in April and came across the grave for Mrs. Grace Belcher. There were so many tributes on her grave. I found a little of her information, but didn't find anything why her grave had the most tributes. I went on two tours- history and ghost- and neither guides could tell me why. Is there anyone with local lore on why people leave so much for Grace and little James?

If you want some Cali Style Street Tacos !

Check out Tacos El Charro in Richmond Hill at the Mobil Gas Station. Best tacos I’ve had since living in GA. I was talking to the owner and he moved his restaurant from Los Angeles to Richmond Hill after COVID (makes sense). I don’t work there so I’m not being paid to promote them I just want people to experience tacos like I grew up having them ! They don’t have a giant menu but everything is so good, you won’t be disappointed. If you’re lucky you’ll catch them with a fresh batch of home made Horchata.

Party Venue

Looking for somewhere to rent to throw a surprise birthday party! Cash bar would be cool but also family friendly-ish (there likely will be a few toddlers running around).

I’m estimating 50-60 people and would love if there was an outdoor space as well because we’re considering hiring a food truck.

Anyone play the Disney Lorcana TCG around here?

I’ve been going to local game stores like Savannah Lion Games and Roll the Bones. We have some local players who play there regularly, but I’m looking to expand our community so figured I’d post here!

It’s a fun game, very easy to learn but takes a lot to master, and you don’t have to be a huge Disney fan to enjoy it 😄

Feel free to message me if you’d be interested in playing!

Local company gives bad reviews while being shitty on their end.

So i usually wont post about small local companies but this local power washing company called Washing And Cleaning Group decided to act out in a way where it could have caused potential harm. They were doing a job over at the outdoor shopping area on e ogelthorpe and price and decided to shut down the parking lot during working hours even though they were not repainting the parking lot. The job was to power wash and re paint the sidewalks outside of the businesses. At first we thought it was a misunderstanding and they were confronted and told some of the businesses were still open for 3 more hours. They decided to block off both entrances to the parking lot for whatever reason using chairs from a local resturant without asking. This turned into multiple people almost driving directly into the chairs since they were black and it was dark out. None of this would have been that big of an issue if they had just took into consideration that they were starting too early and needed to wait until the other businesses were ready to close. But they decided to take it a step further and go on some of the businesses Google reviews to give them a bad review because they were asked politely to not block off the parkinglot. Again they were not doing any work to the parking lot only the walkway outside the businesses. Some of this guys may have been drinking and think this is the reason to why they were acting out in this way but it was incredibly unprofessional. Also one of the businesses they gave a bad review to was the business that helped get them the bid for the job. Not the brightest individuals. If anyone is interested in more of the details to this incident some of their Google reviews goes into further detail. They left 3 separate bad reviews on Ta ca Asian fusion and were immediately called out for it.

City moves to revoke ‘mistakenly issued’ inn approvals for Thomas Square apartment development

Post image

By Eric Curl/Savannah Agenda

Oct. 24, 2026 – The city of Savannah is preparing to revoke a local developer’s business approvals for three “inns” in the Thomas Square neighborhood, after residents decried the new development, a recently completed building complex that was originally proposed to be residential apartments.

Residents said The Jardin was effectively operating as a hotel serving visitors rather than as the apartments originally proposed for the two buildings at Montgomery and 43rd streets.

The controversy comes less than a year after the neighborhood successfully petitioned in December 2025 to become part of an overlay district that prohibits hotels — lodging establishments with more than 15 rooms.
